i'd like to hear some thoughts on this. so lets say you are grinding (blazing swamp just for example), minding your own biz and you see a red run towards you, or in worse case scenario, while hitting a mob, out of nowhere, suddenly you see that your CP is going down. after you have targetted your enemy, what do you do...?
i've been doing this so far, sometimes it works, and sometimes i'm taking dirt naps. i've two macros on my hotbar, one to switch into tallum plate, and the other to switch into doom heavy and equip my soul bow. if the attacker is a nuker/archer then its arrow shooting and pot spamming, i'll try to get up close for a stunaroo otherwise, bow it is.
on the other hand, if its a melee toon, then its a different story, if my hammer crush lands, i switch to my focus duals and start swinging hoping for a few crits, while spamming pots. and then its rinse and repeat, and lastly if i know that regardless of what i do, i'll be going down, sad to say i end up hitting BSOE. :(
would love to hear similar tactics/strategies as Mr. and Mrs. Stubby dont have that much variety when it comes to P\/P. (currently using +4STR +4DEX)
Ususally PK chars are higher lvl then you so in a few hits your dead anyway.
If someone playing a wizard or archer type and attaks you there is normally no hope that you can win that fight if they know what they doin.
If 1 melee char come by you might have a chance and it might be worth use a few potions.
If they are 2 or more i just dont bother fight back and take the sp.
So in general in most cases its not worth to spam pots and fight back. If you wanna keep exp use a bsoe else take they sp and enjoy staying in the good spoil spot longer.
rarely happens. i just start running hitting my f12 (cp pot key) hopefully i run through a bunch of aggro mobs, and fake death. luckily, i dont seem to be a lot of peoples target. PvP is no friend to me
I've never tried carrying a bow, or dagger or duals or anything. do you actually do a lot of damage. ive always been a pole and blunt kinda dwarf
kandlestik, well the bow is basically to use for them kiters that try to get to you, and yeah even though our accuracy isnt all that great with the bow, it still helps some what. our HP is our biggest factor, hence carrying all this crap has its advantages. as far as duals go, my experience so far has been great when grinding (that comes from being a gladdy for so **** long), the focus SA really helps, when stun is needed i use my yaksa.
I usualy take the SP and let the attacker get PK+1...I then return to the same spot and if the guy is still red and attacks me again I fight back. If I lose the red guy gets more karma and PK+1.
I had a lot more pvp go down this weekend then I really wanted, but it went well considering the odds.
1st fight
4 vs 1 for all intents and purposes. Why is this significant? Well, I carry enough CP pots on me to fuel a 3rd World army. If I am going down I want those that are killing me to think I am a freaking raid boss and hesitate the next time they start believing I will be an easy PVP point.
CP pots: they are in the game, they are very easy to get and if Dwarves have any advantages whatsoever(lord knows every other class does...) it's the amount of weight we can carry. We have that capacity, **** near every other class can wthpwn us based on pvp abilities alone, so if someone is moaning about me using them then they can go tell someone else who might give a [censored].
2nd fight
I saw a war tag and killed it while a Gladiator beat on me. The dude I killed brought his 7x Destroyer to kill my 42 Bounty Hunter.
Lesson learned? It's not Dwarf specific but, sometimes there's just no winning. Hold your ground, take the high road, and move on. When the Destroyer killed me in 3 shots I said, "Gf". What did he do? He was still talking [censored] and acting like he was all big and bad while I clicked the Return to Clanhall button. The Gladiator(not a wartag) who ran from me, and who I let live when I got done beating his brother into a pulp kept PM'ing me even two hours later about how scared of them I should be. Uh-huh.
Again, not Dwarf specific but pretend this is a game of football and you just scored, "Act like you've been there before and you'll be coming back real soon."
3rd fight
Some dude and his train of buffers/healers moved into the area I was farming and decided he was going to take every group mob in there. I tried to be diplomatic on not one, not two, not three, but four different times and when I had had enough I not only killed him, his 3 support toons(one BSOE'd), and his A-grade main(Dwarf also, no idea what class but I was level 44 at the time) but then I kept the area for another hour while he was PM'ing me saying that I was KoS and his entire alliance was going to hunt me down and delevel me.
The lesson? Just like CP pots, going red is in the game. It's a tool. Don't just stand there and talk [censored]. You're a Dwarf for God's sake. Always keep a ton of supplies on hand so that when you go red you can go off into the wilderness where no one will find you and work it off safely without needing to be around towns to get shots or health pots.
We're cool like that.
Summary
1. Carry tons of CP pots. If others don't like it then they can discuss it with the [censored] dirt.
2. You're a Dwarf: PVP is not your friend, but you can at least be an adult about it. If your psyche is so fragile that you can't handle failure and you absolutely need to win then roll an archer.
3. Go red and move on. Time is adena and we're the race that can spend the next two weeks in the wilderness working it off without needing to restock.
yep if you wanna pvp on your dwarf excessive amounts of cp pots is the way to go you might get lucky and your enemy cant outdamage them and maybe even luckyer and he runs out of them before you do
Hahah, **** dude, that was funny as hell, i just had the worst day so far and you got me to laugh, saved my day ^^ dorf pvp ftw!! Quite good advice though, the only edge a dorf has is carrying capacity.. you can have like 3-4x the ammount of cp/healpots than any other class and still carry 50k+ shots, no prob, save maybe HE and theie quiver of holding... but i dunno the effective stats of QoH so i dunno for sure
And then right back to the business of leveling and item acquisition. I really wish it hadn't have happened. Not that it wasn't fun, but I pretty much need to do the Sin Eater quest now so that will take away from time I could be grinding out materials, but it was either that(going red) or standing their squawking at the dude(huge waste of time).

Try to make an aoe party for your sin eater. It never take me more than 1 buff round to do mine. (Last time I did it in 10-15 min with only 7 food, I forgot to restock "food for wolf" before going on spot)

Oh man you're that dutchie guy, was wondering who the hell you were!! Good fight in branded tbh, was me on 42SK, and soul on 40 DA and you just spammed pots like crazy, but eventually you died since you did little to zero damage to either of us, but your friend the tyrant, and those ritual people helping you out (was about 6-7 people fighting at this time, all hitting us 2) did ok damage, still lost tho 8)

Diillign(the Tyrant) and the Gladiator(the SE's main) that showed up later died in 5-7 shots. They both died and I was still fighting. Skill? No way, as I said that was all CP pots. Hence, it was one of the points of my post.
There were three people: the SK, DA, and a caster who ran back into the catacomb but came back out beating on me with one Synergy("fghisdji" or something) still in the catacomb( /afk I guess).
In as much as I appreciate Diillign and that other person trying to help they were both dead within 15 seconds of engaging. Six or seven people fighting? That's disingenuous. 85% of the fight involved four people(3 Synergy and me). Saying it was 3 Synergy versus 4 in the PuG is like counting the female dwarf that parks herself on the siege field to watch as a one of the "defenders". The SE was standing there and the two other folks were on the floor dead. I appreciated their intent but they got rolled in a handful of seconds and eventually...so did I.
Meh, this is turning into blue chat where everyone gives reasons why X, Y, and Z happened because of A, B, and C.
If I'm alone, I tend to just send my golem on them and see how they react. Had some even BSoE/PR just from him. :) If they run, I have enough time to hide and SoE, if needed. Otherwise, use the terrain to run up to them and prevent them from using their ranged skills on you, engage in melee, and spam GCP/CP pots like crazy.

I know my 59 BH has a 59 Wind Hatchling and a 42 Wind Hatchling (when the Big Hatchling out lvls my BH I switch 2 the little one till my BH same lvl as the big one again) :D
You also have think that a WAR Smith is just that A dwarf that's all about War so he has the Summons and BH is after the loot only so instead of a fight the BH fake death and live to make money again. (Bh is a Lover not a Fighter) :p
I'd gladly share my "normal" golems (Mechanical Golem and Big Boom) with my BH breathen, just keeping the siege golems as my exclusive. Though the BHs still need something to do during a siege, like repairing castle doors and walls and stuff ...

I would like a more usefull skill in a seige like (lootfallen) a skill that lets you pick pocket dead people on the seige field. :D
As we BHs are supposed to be the looter not the fighter, how about we just disassemble the whole **** castle and sell its components to the Ol Mahums ? ;)
*BH Schmusekatze walks up on Destroyer Meanolddirtykillingmachine*
*Schmusekatze performs disassemble on MODKM's weapon*
*MODKM gains 1 weapon hilt, 1 weapon edge, 1 recipe to put both together, using up 1 cord, costing 500 MP, casting time 1 minute

Drastic Kitten
@Nana & Xalya: *purrrrrrrrr*
Surely thats the WS version? :p
The BH version would be something along the lines of...
*BH Schmusekatze walks up on Destroyer Meanolddirtykillingmachine*
*Schmusekatze performs spoil on MODKM's weapon*
*MODKM drops weapon due to the heat generated in his weapon*
*Schmusekatze bends down and steals a few crystals from the sword hilt of MODKM's weapon - and MODKM needs to return to Giran Blacksmith to re-seal some crystals into it*
*Schmusekatze runs away*

I am sure most if not all of you have experienced this.
You are out soloing (I am a WS but same for BH) and from out of no where you get jumped being called a bot.
Now I have watched many a bot in this game and if you take a few seconds you can usually tell when its a RL person and not a program but for some reason 95% of the people playing L2 today see a dwarf out hunting and assume it is a bot.
Now until NCSoft gives us a craft XP pot recipe and the mats to make said pot we pretty much have to level the same as everyone else be it much slow leveling that is.
So what does a dwarf need to do so they look less bot like.
Currently I am using shot and have my golem out. Who the heck bots with a golem

They know you are not a bot. They tell themselves you are a bot just because they see(what they think is) an easy target and they are all kinds of excited to "PVP". I wish I still had the screen caps but it went something like this:
Me: Keep going champ. Get that super cool PK.
Him: You a bot
Me: Uh-huh. That's why I ran towards you to see who you were and why I'm talking to you right now.
Him: You arent bot?
Me: No, but keep attacking me. You'll go red and I'll come back and demolish you.
Him: Party?
Me: No.
Him: Come on. Party.
Me: Go to Hell.
It's the equivalent of seeing a pistol being pulled everytime you meet a quadriplegic.
ZOMG that dude sitting down...he's got a gun! PVP++!! Did you see that? Did you see me roll that fool? God I'm such a stud...
I have had few of those moments to when exping on my WS and EE sub when I am soloing.
Maybe my next sub will make them little more carefull calling me a bot and flag because they will find them self with -4%...for now I just go close to them and take of my armor and are saying to myself "Go ahead. Make my day" because if they go red they will have an angry dwarf coming back attacking and they have 2 options: 1. Fight back and get PK+1 and karma or 2. BSoE
If they choose option 2 I can usualy continue exping at the spot, but sometimes the coward comes back with 2-8 alliance members in S grade to kill me because the coward couldn't handle me so he made up a lie that he told the alliance (example of a lie: "player1 PKed me for no reason while I was exping. come and help me get him").

Warkitten
Let my siege golem help you disassemble the castle it will go faster :p
We can split the profit 70-30 since the golem needs so many materials to build and function
right the skill that totally annoys the hell out of my is the new kamael skill that allows them to disarm weapons why oh why oh why wasnt this skill given to warsmiths we make them we should know how to break them too ?
so how come we cant disarm/disable weapons and armours huh ???
i mean come on give us something to be better in pvp id love to be able to disable/disarm them +++ weapons they using on me and thus give me better chance to pound on them and then do a little dance when i win :P gotta do the dance when you win by the way always annoys the crap out of them seeing a dorf danicing on their toon the humiliation usually makes them take the 4% loss just to escape lol
NCSoft is not going to add pvp skills to the dwarf class. Races are not balanced for pvp, but that is another old well-discussed topic. However, dwarfs should be able to use their "spoil skill" in pvp giving them a X% chance to take away something (random items from inventory, jew, weapon) from the other pvp player. That is, "if they [dwarfs] ever win". I am sure a player will think twice before attacking a dwarf class that has no pvp skills at all.
When odds are against me then I play the train game, i run into red mobs and if the pk aggroes more than me they die. I lose often at this game but it's funnier than "do nothing and just die". Oh and my scavenger just became BH and now can feign death, but I haven't experienced with it yet, though I've done that in EQ1 before.
If I have any chance I fight back, on PTS I fought against a Kamael, stun was landing each time that amazed me pretty much.
With each new chronical what i can do with the WS as far as pvp goes changes.
As a miestro now that reflect damage has been fixed i will toggle it and it helps of course spamming cp pots is also a plus--Retezuken (archer) hates to see me he knows his mp will soon go byby all the while he has this annoing ant stunning him the whole time. :)
also terain and placement has helped on more than 1 occation. I look for spots with only 1 way in or out, make sure there are plenty of narrow lanes close by(melee heaven), and also there are plenty of agro mobs between myself and the entrance so if a wartag comes in they pull the agro (stun/ aromour crush FTW). Last i have a clear veiw so I can see them (when paying attention) comming at me.
V/s groups solo best i can hope for is to aoe them wraith spam cp hp pots and call in backup.
The reality is dwarves were not made for pvp but i have mad respect for those brave enough to use them. Anyone can spam shoot arrow buttons lol. There no more challenging char to play than a dworf class imo.

my 2 cent hope it helps :)
The definition of Dwarf PvP
+1 For Awesomeness :D
There no more challenging char to play than a dworf class imo. I second this! I laugh at people who go "It's only a Dwarf, how hard can it be?" Psh... Nubbies... >.>
Sitting in town using craft shops = lots of money for a BH. Sitting and selling the stuff = lots more.
Lots of money = Very Happy Happy BH :)
Please explain to me how a BH makes money by crafting in town, please tell me O wise and intelligent orc.
they use the 24/7 1a craft shops that prevents the players with a WS as main to earn some adena by having a craft shop up.
also a BH has lvl 1 craft which means they can reg some basic material recs and get some adena from that.

Hahahahahaha your not going to make money that way, I'm sorry. You have a better chance with buying low and selling high with a non dwarven character.
