Depends on what sort of gameplay.. PvE or PvP? and what levels too.
At 68 i'm still wearing my PvE setup i had since lvl 50+ with +4 +4 -8 str/dex/con and strapped on tallum heavy ontop of that, sure i get stunned alot due to alot of negative con but stunmobs are still easy to avoid at 68. With tsu*sls +6 and double crit augment that adds another 30 to critrate my PvE damage with this setup is still quite sufficient for PvE.
For PvP i'm not quite sure, i'm experimenting on a few ideas myself and one is keeping the PvE tats i have, strap on maj heavy and go for +4 dam*tallum with haste and whatever augment that best catches my eye, either it being adding to stats or passive/active skills or chances. Another is keeping tallum heavy, go with dama*tallum +4 and remove the +4dex -con tat but keep +4 str -4 con. Some people may argue me with this statement but i'd say, whatever you do always grab +4/-4 str/con as a basic tat and work around that with armor sets and weapons but never to go - on dex. They can argue me all they want though i'm still never gonna go - dex ^^
These are just my personal thoughts and preferences though and they tend to lean towards glasscannon setups.. there is the optional HP setup that seems to work just fine too but i dont know much about those so its better another gladdie that uses/used answer that instead of me :)
**edit** suppose i should say what they do for you too. Str increases/decreases your p.atk very noticably in the long run + for us gladdies also increases the critrate for our skills. Dex increases/decreases attackspeed, critrate (normal critrate not skillcritrate) runspeed and maybe accuracy too(?) Not as significant as the str alters your stats per point but its a nice touchup on quite a few areas. Con is what determines your HP/CP and stun resistances most noticably, it has some other effects too but none that i can think is worth mentioning for a melee class such as ours
+5STR +4DEX -9CON
B grade : BW Heavy, +++tsu*sls
A grade : Tallum Heavy, +++tsu*sls, or dama*tal (if you can afford them)
Try to avoid mobs that stun, cuz with our m.def you'll get stunned quite a lot even with full majestic set.
At 7x levels, i'd hold on to my OE'd B grade duals for grinding, crit is good for PvE.
i started out with +4 STR. once I hit lvl64, i got +4DEX +1STR, reason being this, you get duelist spirit at that level, therefore, to recharge it faster you'll need +4DEX, plus the 8% atk speed also helps when using a Dex Tat :)
Once you start to actively PVP you can either go the +CON +STR -DEX set up or just go with +STR set up. Personally I'd only go -DEX once you reach lvl78 and acquired sonic rage.
Dont pay attention to the crit duals, they wont help you much in pvp, you'll be too busy spamming skills to ever see the difference in regular swing pvp.
For the most part, I agree with the other posters here, especially the reference to JohnLuke's excellent Gladdie info. He's a sharp guy(and a clannie), and he's been Hinde gladdie hero more than once. IMHO, however, there is really only one thing to remember for PvE: Play to your strengths. +4 STR/-4 CON is a necessity for soloing, whether you have a 2box buffer or not. If you're a heavy armor user, that one tat will serve you well. If you like light armor, you may want +4 DEX/-4 CON as well, to help make you an evading and critting machine. Darth's point about recharge time for Duelist Spirit is valid as well.
For PvP, CON is the name of the game. In my experience, glads with negative con die FAST in pvp. My suggestion would be -4 DEX/+4 CON. I wouldn't personally reduce STR, but the added hp would at least partially offset the reduced damage. I've also known ppl who liked how they did with +4 STR/+4 CON/-8 DEX. Another point regarding PvP - ColdFyre is on the money about crit duals - they're useless for it. Against mobs, they're great, but in PvP, Health is the only decent SA. And the only real disagreement I have with the previous posters is that DEX is not as big a deal as it used to be in PvP, because of Sonic Move. If your timing is good, you will rarely be kited, like most of us were for the first 3 years of L2. That added runspeed is a thing of beauty, even if it is short-lived. Of course, in a mass-pvp situation, you can throw everything out the window, but in a 1v1 or party-on-party fight, the fight will likely be over in a VERY short time anyway.
Hope this helps -

-4dex/-4str/+8con?
duelist?
hindemith?

And dont tell me that u were counting armor set bonuses too cos noones gonna believe it

Stun is resisted by con and not mdef. Just how greatly con plays a role is not known exactly, but it's factored in along with your level, your attacker's stun-skill level (not sure if attacking player level plays a role), and buffs/item bonuses.
My bad - I wasn't paying attention, and ended up adding the effects of the tats I discussed in the preceding sentences.
...I hope you're not suggesting that I'm lying about, well, anything. Anyone who's ever played on Hinde can ask around, and I guarantee they won't find a single soul who can accuse me of any variety of dishonesty. Maybe it's not really necessary to flame everyone who makes a mistake, every friggin' time they make one, but what do I know? I was trying to help someone who asked for it, so get off my back.
Now that I think about it, when I started that sentence, I MEANT to mention the +4 STR/-8 DEX/+4 CON setup - Yesterday was a long day.
ok buddy im sorry for being maybe too harsh. yesterday was a long day for me too.

aye. certain classes have higher resistance to stun too (warriors,tanks,etc.). having high con also affects how long u stay stunned and/or how easily stun breaks after u get hit. at least thats what rumors say

my tests say otherwise
stun duration is a fixed time (about 8 seconds i think) and chance of stun breaking is an average of 2.6 hits
tested on a se and a destro

Nanashi, I won't argue with you, but my experience is not completely in agreement with yours. On the one hand, I've noticed my SH doesn't seem to get stunned worse then my Destro in some spots, like FP. This would agree with your experience. On the other hand, I've played my Destroyer side-by-side with a DA. Until he came and played with me, I didn't realize that some of the mobs I was playing against had a stun ability. This is counter to what you are saying.
A lttle side-note: At the time I was playing with the DA, I was still boxing my SE with my Destroyer. I tried using the Mental Shield buff on the DA, and he told me the stuns happened less with that buff. Later on, I read in these forums that Mental Shield doesn't work against stuns.
I kinda wonder if any of us can say for sure how stuns work in this game. The only thing I will say for certain, if you are below level 60, even if you're a Destroyer, you're not gonna have fun grinding against the Kranrot bears in GC (unless maybe you have an EE with you).

not argueing stun land rate, what i am doing however is talking about duration and break rate
if you use a PC stun on a 7x destro or SE the stun duration is 8 seconds and the chance for stun to break is an average of 2.6 hits

never ever compare npc stun with pc stun. Mobs will stun a destro with +5 con in majestic no matter if he's resist shock buffed. From my xperience, armor bonuses, con and resist buffs play a very small role in the land rate of npc debuffs. Like getting rooted in fotd even with lionheart lvl 3 on or getting stunned/bleeded easily too, even with maj/tallum heavy. These will only help significantly in pvp situations.

Got my +4 str -4 con tats, i'll put them on when making second class.
I am considering +4 dex too but i don't think i will.
Something noone bothered to mention really is the large decrease in what you can carry.
I'm already getting overweight with con intact with all i want to carry around *pots/scrolls/etc*, i don't want to think how it will be with -4 con, let alone -8 con...
Hmm...
Hm, yeah i forgot this, sorry. I just dont seem to have any troubles myself and never had, heh. But tallum heavy does help me out a bit though ^^
I can carry 5-8k shots 800 energystones, a fair bunch of soes, 200 reg hp pots, 10 a grade elixirs of hp, some CP elixirs, greater antidotes about 50 of 'em and i still got room for assorted matdrops/item drops and questitems, heh this is enough to carry me through each day, lol.

Dude I would be randomly running through fotd on a gank run, lvl 78 with maxed out pp buffs, Baium and AQ ring on and get rooted by a dark blue mob. That happened a few times lol.
Every time it happened I felt like bsoe'ing so that nobody would see it lol.
