I just got my Cleric to Bishop last night and I was wondering if any site had information as to:
- HP regained by the different heals
- HP regained per tick by HOT(Heal Over Time) components
- HP per mana spent by the different levels of heals
- HP regained by the HOT component of heals when Regeration is applied
- Cast time for the heals(unbuffed or with Acumen)
Right now the extent of my knowledge is that this heal is big and that heal does a heal over time when the cast bars finish. So yeah, more info might help.
well never heard of a website like that unfortunately.
on the other hand, i dont think its really necessary to know how to calculate your heals to the last digit to be able to heal effectively.
practice makes perfect.
ps: all i can give is Regenaration buff = HP regen per tick +20%.
pss: one more thing. 43 con base HP Regen is 32 per tick. With fast hp recovery passive that goes to 36.4 max.
psss: Heals are: Heal Power + Square root of your M.Atk.
SPS/BSPS heals are: Heal Power + Square root of your M.Atk. + SPS effect (bsps is 4x M.Atk., so your M.Atk. is boosted by bsps)
pssss: greater heal and greater group heal now heal for more than they used to when they were instant. sth like 15-25% not sure. but maybe u already knew that
Uh I don't know any site that does that. I wouldn't even know how to test most of that either since you'd be fighting with natural hp regen, plus whatever levels of fast hp recovery you have, plus the HoT... that would be .. hard.

I know that an equivalent exists that lets you put in your buffs and gear then it calculates your stats, but yeah I don't know of a healing equivalent so I figured I would ask.
well one thought is to get your weight gauge really high so your regen sux, then u will be able to calculate things with some accuracy. is there a -hp regen armor set?? hmmm
Heh yeah sorry just absolutely no idea. I do think you are in the overthinking tank a bit too deep though XD The most advanced healing I've ever had to think of was whether or not restore life would be more efficient than a regular heal depending on class, if a players hp was going down fast enough to warrent a battle heal, if a group heal would be better than several single heals, or if balance life would be appropriate for the party situation or not.
And maybe, just maybe, you're overthinking this!! :)
+1
You can calculate stats all you want, but it comes down to experience that will make you a good healer. And, in a year an a half + of playing one, I haven't gotten further into the stats than knowing Dark Elves make my heals look uber, and dwarves and orcs make them look not so uber. ^^ As a bishop, the only stat that anyone cares about is your total mp, cast speed, and rez %. And, your tank isn't going to care if your calculator was wrong if he dies. He is wondering what calculator he can use to get his xp back. Like she said, don't over think it. Being a good healer is more an art than a science. Even if you have the numbers down, your party will do some stupid stuff, and you'll have to jump through hoops, and blow all of your mp to keep them alive. Matter of fact, I've had several parties where I ended up teaching the group how to fight more effectively, in order to save my mp. That is the type thing that makes you a good healer, imo. And, when people realize you do know what your talking about, they listen very closely to you, and they want you in groups.
LOL, Boundless... yes, ofc. How many times in pve do we have to yell, ONE TARGET!!! ASSIST THE TARGETER!! Because we can crowd control with trance, sleep (not so much that anymore) etc. When the party gets organized and listens, it all goes very well, usually... even if there is an OMG pull... crowd control can save everyone, if they all focus on one target at a time.
I was hoping for something like this: http://www.ra-specht.com/wow/heal_bc/index.php

So far, you won't need that for L2, unless you are digging into the ability of Phoenix Knight to provide free heals. Basically, your group very rarely has buffslots for your healing buffs, and you have no time for calculations when you need to deviate from your MP-cheapest heal route.

What noob dd's are you parytying with since I left!?!?!?!?
Well said, boundless. Experience as a healer is critical, that is why my clan won't party with 'purchased' toons, having a lvl 50 that you earned is better than a lvl 75 you bought, but I digress.
One target, one tank and you focus on that HP bar. Don't change targets unless someone else is going down fast. Use group type heals if non-tanks need healing, use main heals on tank. If the tank is dropping quickly, switch between main and HOT heals, otherwise us the most mana efficent heal. Your mana regen rate is the constraint on the party exp. Everything that the party does should subordinate to your mp regen since that alone determines whether or not your group will need to take mana breaks.
Remember, the healer is the most important person in the party. If a DD has to leave or if you switch tanks, you may adjust the mobs you hunt. But if the healer leaves then the party stops.
One target, one tank and you focus on that HP bar.
LOL
Other healers and I joke all the time about this. Healers, how many times have you had this conversation:
Someone in party: "[censored]! Did you see that??"
Healer: "See what?"
Party Member: "How did you not see what So-and-So just did????"
Healer: "All I see are your HP bars."
Then, a bunch of mumbling how "I could never play a healer....."

It depends. Sometimes you just start lethal striking x6 HP mobs around, and then your DDs ask: "Do you really need us here?" ;)
And while safe HP bars are your ultimate responsibility, sometimes they are better to manage with a couple of trances instead of one heal.
Very true! Plenty of times in hot parties I have been so focused on the HP bars that I have no idea of what mobs we are hunting or even where we are. I don't have time to keep up on the conversation much less the drops and drama.
On the other hand, using Turn Undead on multi HP high level mobs has gotten me some comments of amazement from other players. A mob which will take a group of five players 20 seconds to beat down, using dozens of shots and arrows, I can reduce to 1 HP on the first cast then kill in a moment with the second. Since Bishops and Cardinals are so rare, it isn't unusual to have others just stop and watch then ask how it is being done. I just say "Bishop Magic."
I remember once I was pulling multi - HP undead aggro out of rooms in CoFP and killing them with Turn Undead. The first cast failed (not uncommon) and I had tranced the mob when a member of one of our 'griefer' clans came by and slapped the mob once to wake it and let it kill me, assuming that I would be in trouble. They said "Oh noes, poor healer!" as they did it.
By the time they finished typing, Turn Undead/Might of Heaven had turned the mob into rubbish on the floor. Since they woke the mob, I knew they had seen the HP instantly dissapear. The griefer assumed I could do the same to them and hit a bsoe before I could.

When you get major heals the greater heals are a waste.

That is hard to teach. L2 is so easy to play solo for most DD classes that they are used to killing their own targets. Few people except those from very organized clans really know how to play in a non-fotm party (pole group, etc.).
I did a nuker group in MOS and every nuker was killing their own mob instead of assisting me, who was glooming the mobs (which would save MP, etc.). The rechargers were complaining because they were going out of MP - no matter how much I told them to assist I wasn't getting anywhere.
Don't invite SPS to nuker groups, btw. Lol... No offense.
If you make an issue about it, most people would rather leave the group and go solo than play like they have some common sense.
It's frustrating coming from games where people play with more skill and less brute.

True. It's not really a knock on those who have learned to be successful solo'ing it's just that there are significant adjustments that need to be made in groups and many can't see the point of simply refuse to change, hoping that others will make up the difference. L2 is a simple, simple game when compared to other MMORPG's. Seeing some folks fail to even raise their game to that level makes you wonder why they even bothered to ask to join the group if they had no intention of contributing and know **** well that they're just going to get punted from it.
Getting back to my original post, I just dinged 48 and the first thing I did after buying skills was to whip out the calculator to figure out how much HP heals were returning per MP and how many direct heals I could cast before the HOT component of Greater Heal wore off and would need to be refreshed.
It only took a few minutes. Considering how long it takes to level in this game and how rare it is for our parties to have a second healer...I consider it time well spent.

Actually, it's a grind game. So, you should have been calculating how many HPS you can afford with your MP regen.
And once you are into fast healing on overpulls pre-Major Heal, don't forget Vitalize, it was a great spell.
try the heals on yourself and see how they work. after that, just ask the party member how much HP they have. by comparing that number to yours you can pretty much figure out when a person neads to be healed.
Sometimes a person will want to stay at 30% health so they can use a skill, therefor knowing how much not to heal is also a good thing to remember.
the restore life skill is great. restores 30%(thats 1/3 of thier HP bar) of target's max HP (including buffs) so for tanks and meatshields you can wait a little while befor you need to heal them(this skill has a longer recharge than your other heals).
later on you will get benediction (pretty fabulous skill) it only works when you MP is under 25% but will restore all hp of whole party.
the regular heals can still be usefull even as you get higher up in lvls. its all about MP conservation, what heal for what situation.
and remember, dont heal early or everyone can die.
one more thing: orc HOT and your greater heals will stack. other greater heals will not, party members keep highest buff(HOT).
Again, I say, the only way to become a good healer is to play one. Only through experience will you learn what to use and when. If your party dies, they'll find a healer who knows what they are doing, and the healer who needs a calculator will be back on the "Healer LFG" macro.
Don't get hung up on stats. You'll learn how effective things are, and how to manage your mp. That, or, you'll reroll to a class that's easier to play. I've said in other posts, I love playing a healer because it is never the same twice. Also, I like the party depending on me to keep them alive. Honestly, a more important question is "What robe set should I wear?", not "How much does each heal go for?" The others here who have been healers long enough to know how have all agreed with me. Except for the "Oooo....I heal for -that- much?" factor, the calculator is worthless. And, fear not.... If you group with people who aren't used to having a good Bishop with them, they'll tell you how much you heal for. "GOOD LORD! You just healed me for X amount!" is not uncommon to hear from people who don't know how cool we are.

I know exactly what you're looking for, and I can tell you... you will never find it unless NCsoft becomes more open in providing complete physics data.
I know in alot of games, that kind of info is as natural as reading class descriptions, but in L2 for some reason NC actually tries their best to hide that info from us.
The people who worked on all the calc sites etc so far are pretty close to just giving up, for so far they haven't already... simply because of the reasons above.
Now, about your heals themself: the formulas for them are completely [censored] up. Almost every heal uses a different formula, and to make things even worst, some formulas tend to completely change as you level up the skill, making any sort of future predictions or comparisons impossible.
Anything anyone else tells you about heal %'s etc, is just plain guesswork, and not final physics data.
