My friend went to the NC Soft meet and greet this past weekend and met the members of the production team. They got a chance to sit and talk with the lead producer for L2 for almost an hour. I asked him to bring up a question about buffing pets. The guy wrote it down to look into and he said that the fact that an OL can apply its buffs to their summoned pet has never been offically brought to his attention before and will look into it.
The guy side CT1 and going forward will have OL content added. He confirmed that Ally buff is going away, and buffs will be for the clan only. This was to force more active OLs, instead of having one per ally. They are going to increase the land rate of our debuffs, how much I don't know. When he asked the producer what other changes were coming to OLs he wouldn't say.
I thought I would share any OL info I got. I hope this information is found useful.
I am hoping they do more that bit of tweeking with the seals for the OL. the last time they upped the land rate it seemed to be less than by 5% and the effects of the seals are not nearly powerful enought as comparied to the mp costs.
Any thing for the best. the ally removal sucks the worst. They really need to give the OL more solo stuff and return the drain to pre nerf mp usage please

OMG, he did have some nerve saying that. Never been official brought into attention? The game suggestions are full of threads saying: "Make OL and clan hall buffs affect pets/summons". Are they blind? Or just prefer to play dum?
And just how is that (IF this thing is EVER fixed) going to make me feel any better?
Grind to 79 to cast ally CoV on a pet? ... no... thx...
Throw tons and tons of my mana into buffing a necro pet with Might, Shield, WW, Guidance, Acumen, Magic Barrier and Zerk?
Let's get reall: It's NOT "good news", it's "about friggin time!". If correcting a years-old bug is such a big thing for such a unique class... Christ... I can only howl and bang my head agains a wall.
JRock - thanks for passing the info along. Please don't take it persoanlly - I think people who really like OL's are just frustrated by the changes that have happened and that are coming.
I'm pretty disappointed about losing Ally heals/buffs myself. Given the use of mass CP pots and boss jewels I don't have much else to offer so by taking away my ally buffs I feel I should just be a WC with the ability to cast vr and haste.
I posted this on another thread too - the MP cost of AOE is very high and the land rate/damage is very low other than silence. If it's a hero I usually don't even bother figuring they have boss jewels and it won't land but other mages I try for silence if I can spare the MP. Most of my MP is used on CP heals period.
If NCSOFT developers are reading this PLEASE reconsider taking away ally heals/buffs. I don't think it will encourage people to role an OL - I think it will only strengthen the argument to be a WC. And it sure does hurt all of us high level OL's out there who chose this class for the Ally buffs/heals etc.
I have a clan member, a good 20 levels below me. Necro w/ a +15 [censored].
He can silence a level 76 SE w/ no problems. I can't even sleep it and I am only 6 levels below them.
My Silence Seal, in duels, even though i don't get a "failed", doesn't silence them. My Fear and my madness, just goes off, but does nothing.
How gimped is that. And to boot, that same Necro can silence me, w/ a full set of A grade jewels and all my passives up to snuff.
Something is very wrong with the OL and its supporting numbers.
I can only agree with the above messages. Ncsoft seems to not play their own game. Lineage2 is so rotten with bots that competitive clans powelevel dominator only to get cov and ally invincibility. So not only it's hard for legit player to reach that level, but they make us also useless. Feels like the SE.
Regarding the limitation of buffs to clan, dont forget that clans are now much bigger than when we had 12 clans alliances. However, they should lower the mp per skills.
Finally, as for seals and landing rate, again ncsoft doesnt play its own game. Enemies usually have +3 tateossian set, they have all the mdef they need. Not to say that aoe spells have a horrible landing rate compare to single target, you pretty much are left with a CP healer only. Healing CP is great but then dont give us all these useless seals. As for the power of the CP heal, 600+ healing just lol when in front you get hit for 2k average.
Dominator is a fun class but takes forever to grind. And it seems that the reward is very little compare to others, especially when many dont bother to level one, and simply pl or bot a dominator as pvp pets.

Skillwise overlord has many more buttons to press than any other class, imo.
As far as lvling a Overlord. Treat them as a regular DD than you probably wont have to heal. They can toss on soulcry to kill mobs and if things get ugly can root/silence/sleep them... Thats pretty golden if you ask me. Granted a warcryer does all that plus gives awsome party buffs, Overlord actually has a larger purpose in endgame pvp.
I will definatly agree, Overlords dont lvl pve better than any classes. They "can" lvl and solo and etc but they are the worst class for that besides an SE.

God I get frustrated sometimes.
It's at least a +16 Homu (glows red), and the reason why Necro Silence lands alot more than OL silence is because single-target debuffs have ~twice the BLR of AOE debuffs.
Compare Curse Fear to Mass Curse Fear (or Slow to Mass Slow, or Gloom to Mass Gloom, or Curse Poison to Poisonout Cloud, or Sleep/Dreaming Spirits to Sleeping Cloud) for example.
Orc Mages also have low M.Atk compared to Necros (esp if you go +MEN/-INT) so your landrate is crippled further.
A +16 Weapon on a 6x toon is serious business. That thing is better than a clean Arcana Mace (188 M.Atk or so?).
Sorry, I meant to compair it to my Sleep. 1v1 spells and my sleep is most likely one of the most powerful spells I have. That, and the level difference really tee'd me off.
:)

I don't know about you, but I started playing in C1, and I didn't choose OL for the CP heals. I'm not a healer, I chose OL for the seals and the ability to cause mas chaos on the battlefield, but NC Soft nerfed that long ago.
I wanted to be more useful at siege since my first toon was an SK.... I also liked the C3 load screen with the tyrant in Maj heavy and those low B fists... also wanted a nuker.
So I made an orc mage, OL as an alt.. which kinda took over. :P
