On Sunday, October 7th at 5 pm EST HammerStrike will be defending Giran Castle on the Lionna server for the second time!! This is a significant feat because HammerStrike is a Dwarven clan!! With the exception of a Snow White (Ceorla our Bishop) (what dwarven clan would be complete without Snow White?) it is an all dwarf clan!!!
While they admit that it has been a combination of luck and dwarves determination that has gotten them the castle so far they realize that luck doesn't last forever. Now they are calling on all dwarves and dwarves at heart to help defend their castle! Imagine a battle feild full of mighty dwarves and their golems!!
HammerStrike would love for this to be the largest showing of DWARF power in the history of L2! Come on out and join them, show your dwarven pride! Dwarves of any lvl are welcome just come prepared to spend two hours laughing like you've never laughed before :D! If you don't already have a dwarf on Lionna come on over and roll one up for the seige, sure a lvl one dwarf will die alot but it will be fun doing it!
Hammerstike welcomes one and all to what they hope will be the biggest dwarven seige in L2 history!
This sounds like great fun! I wish I could join in, but I'll also be out of town then :(
(I'd probably not remember till it's too late anyway..)
And Alyra, you just can't even imagine the hilarity of all of this... S grade Defenders in the Throne room, preparing for the battle of their lives!!! And the doors burst open, and in comes an armor of D and C grade dorffies!!!! They didn't live long, but ****, the laughter lasted for hours. :)
O.o ... all dwarves that come should be prepared! Dwarven greatness comes with a price :) ... that said, the expectation is that most of the server power will be focus'd on Aden with the epic battles sure to occur there. Unknown who will target Giran, but the dwarves will do their best to hang onto it for the sake of the economy.
Please bring:
1. Your dwarf
2. a sense of humor
3. as many siege charms as you can handle unless you are prepared to lose major xp (CrazyBabe took 30 deaths last siege). success is measured by pure determination and throwing ones golem and self back into the fray as fast as dwarvenly possible.
4. potions for self-buffing (no buffer can handle the speed at which we die and reappear - ww for the golems is about it ^^)
5. crystals for artisan mechanical golems
6. shot and beast shot
7. a weapon (a fishing pole or salvation bow counts)
8. squeeky boots if you have them
9. a sense of humor
10. an understanding that it's pretty much a given the castle will fall. At which point we turn around and attack the castle with every ounce of willpower and knee-biting we can muster.
11. an understanding that this is for laughter and fun. While HammerStrike would love to continue ownership and the 2% tax days for Giran, it's more about the outright joy of sieging and playing L2 than anything else.
12. An appropriate title for those dwarves with title rights. (Grumpy, Sleezy and Boozy are taken already, but be creative!)
and lastly
13. did I mention? A sense of humor!!!
[edit to add essential item for the NG dwarfs] 14. If able to, get an invulnerability buff from the newbie guide. It won't help on the siege field, but it helps you GET to the field.
And from HammerStrike History ... encouraged by the fact that Innadril castle had been lightly defended and appeared to be ripe for the picking, HammerStrike clan decided to stage a daring raid on the castle, slipping in behind the warring factions...
Giddy from their success at raiding the vault at Innadril, HammerStrike successfully crests (and loses) Gludio castle, raiding the vault for enough adena to continue next cycle.
Moving on to Dion castle under the theme of "Castle headgear - gotta collect them all!", HammerStrikes attempts, but is rebuffed by wary castle owners. The following siege week, they return to Gludio and once again crest, loot (and lose) the castle.
Having unwittingly ended up as the castle owners, and getting huge encouragement from the dwarven population (giddy at 2% tax days), HammerStrike decides to attempt a defense (although attack is really their specialty). With the help of a few friends (Dwarf sympathizers), rabid determination and HUGE HUGE LUCK, HammerStrike re-crests in the final minutes ... bringing us up to date ...
... and above all, there's been laughter and insane fun at each attempt ....
This looks like a lot of fun and I'll try to be there.
I play on Lionna so if you're serious about leveling a dwarf for this--drop me a pm here. I may be able to help you a bit (though I'm sure not rich on Lionna)--particularly with NG gear or a few K of adena.
I can't help everyone but drop me a note and I'll at least try to assist the first couple/few.
~D~
Hammerstrike has levelled up another clan to level 4 so we have room for any dwarves crazy enough to want to defend Giran with them. Dwarves only please, and only sign up if you're pretty sure you can be at the siege. pm Thaedin or Vaedin to get an invite. Any level welcome!
I just realized I have to be away during this weekend for a company meeting in Florida and will be afk through the whole event (:
I've already committed to assisting one new Lionna dwarf--if a couple others want to drop me a line.
Drakkoscrafter is sitting in dwarfland at this time but as I'm at work he's unavailable.
I'll be in game a few hours this evening so feel free to pm me and I'll see what I can do--at least for the first couple.
Good luck to all! I'm truly sorry to be missing this one!

I will never forget that day.
I didn't know whether to kill them or not cuz of the laughter and surprise of it all.
Hey, sorry I haven't been in to post again sooner... Life has been a busy lately... I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there!
Alyra I'd like to personally invite you to join us! Even if you just sit on the side lines and snap some screenies for us...lol...
Trust me anyone that shows should leave with tears in their eyes...from laughing so hard...lol...
I m leveling a dwarf for the event. (lvl 6 for now)
I was thinking to make her 20 but my own clan activity don't let me enough time to grind enough for that. But I will be there for sure :)
I had a lot of fun, even though it was a massacre, and a bunch of the L2 Vault reporters were there taking screens and video. So look for a write-up on the Vault soon!

Thanks for coming out today and for having my stinky alt dorfy as the party leader, it was a blast
And a BWAY goes out to WhiteOrder for cresting too, it was fun when we tried to all gank Anthon at once :D
Haha the event was great fun. I might of only been level 5 and died tons but seeing a bunch of noob characters trying to zerg the enemy and all getting AoE killed was priceless
