rooms full of bots....... pull a train on 1 room........ the other bots in the other 4 rooms come to help. All bots in all these rooms are linked. We cant train them. The catas now belong completely to the bots. This needs sorting, it needs sorting now, not when the "GM's" decide that its time to investigate them.
Alyra, im sorry if this sounds like i've had a bad day, but we send petitions, nothing ever, and i mean ever, gets done. The bot names get sat on, and never investigated straight away. It's a complete joke.
washtak..... we've been killed 6 times in 2 weeks by the bot lords, i've even petitioned 1 of them 14 months ago for being a bot, but he's still in-game and still a part of the botting thing.
There should be an emergency button. One which requires like at least 20 people to press. Once the number hits 20 a GM is immediately dispatched. I can see how this can be abused but if they only accept one press from each account and one from any given clan then I guess it could be legit.
While you're at it, could you also send a team to Varka Silenos on Teon? :)
SWAT teams operating at the same time at Pagan, MoS, HS, DN, Varka, Ketra and every flats of Building of Insolence! That would make an awesome movie :p
I used to go to NoW - on my server I never saw any other players. I did see a bot train and picked up 4 loads of spellbooks for them when I'd SoE out for more soulshots.
So on the one hand, I hope the OP's petition is responded to in a productive way.
On the other hand, I hardly see the emergency aspect of this. It's a c-grade dungeon where nothing of importance drops. You make more money with the 2x mobs outside (a couple good $ quests).
Maybe they're botting, maybe not. But sounds like they're definitely attended bots, which never seem to get banned.
The OP's predicament would be the same whether they're using 3rd party or just using legit macros...
Iam also on the devianne server, and the bots in the cata's are everywhere, i have tried to train them but soon as i do, they pull out there SS and spam kill everything its pointless to do that anymore...bottom line is i just decided to give up just a week ago on the devianne server and went to another server...and thus so far i havent noticed any problems yet! but the fact im starting over sucks :/

Which implies that it's someone at the keyboard, not a bot, unfortunately. This makes it a whole lot harder to prosecute since, well, there's someone at the keyboard... hard to demonstrate they're doing anything wrong.

Actually, not necessarily. This bot program has been out so long there are gobs of internet guides out there that list the features. That happens to be one of those features. I don't know how it works, but when you train, it somehow knows it.

Probably by a proximity sensor that informs the client that there is an above-average number of mobs in a given area, or simply monitors the packet data from the server that is providing the client with the graphical data for the horde of mobs entering its area.
There's a number of ways it could be done, some more complex than others... but, in the end, it's something that indicates that these automated-playing-apps are getting even more devious. In the end, though, it's no longer about the fun of the game (insert reference to certain site), now its about cheating, and knowing that it's cheating, and getting away with it for as long as possible.

On bartz in martyrs there are bots, one week it was clean no bots, next thing I know boom they pop up out of no where, and I train them/pvp them, pk them, and I can't get them out.
they have it set up so if you hit them they automatically say stuff: "no no no no pk!", "why?", and when you train them then they start talking in Chinese to their friends in the next room that rez them up, and they say "thats my friend, of course I'll rez them!".
they Use SS, pots, and other stuff. NCsoft needs to put back drops on death. that way next time I train them they drop and it hurts them.
to combat that make it so players can use a LS to keep armor/jewelry from dropping.
there is so many bots popping up that you can't get a room in apostate. they pvp us. and we keep getting Mass PM's every single night, why hasn't NCsoft attacked the company that uses its Domain Name in the PM's?!

If no one bought the crap, the bots wouldn't be in the game.
As it appears some are unable to control themselves, NCsoft should consider selling Adena in game, at prices that would make the 3rd party sellers non-profitable. I'd hate to see this, but obviously the players are presenting that as the only viable alternative.
bot programs can be set to do stuff at low hp such as
@ 50% hp use hp pot
@ 20% hp use SS
% 10% hp run to hallway
most bot groups won't blink an eye until the alarm goes off telling them a GM is talking to them at which point they will instantly be monitored meaning they obviously are not bots and should not be banned

Honestly, those arent the bots I even care about. I dont blame them for using this game to make money. Don't get me wrong, I don't like any bots, but farmer bots are the least of my worries.
I don't thing GM have an easy task banning account. But it s true that at first it seems they don't take the upper hand vs bot and farmer.
Somedays ago, I played my sub in patriot. All room were full of bots but I trained then and could xp. 5 min after, 1 bot group start pk and fight. They died and after that time after bot protector came.
The day after I went to devotion, there no fight or bot master. When I was training them, they force log and relog just after and go on farming.
Sameday afternon I went witch, successfully cleared room and started xp. 10 min after some daguer start training us with stunner. I didn't die cause I trained other bot group but conclusion is: Cata/Necro is hardly free for real player.
Btw like many player I stoped petition bot long time ago 'cause I never saw the bot group banned.
PS: about the rumour of wrong banned. You may say you don't believe it but no one can be sure at 100% if a ban is justified. I will not say more 'cause I don't want this thread to be locked but I have a very bad idea about NCSoft method.
Sorry to break into discussion like that but just go at WOA (Teon) at homulunkus' mobs spawn point. You will have a great idea why majestic gloves have this price nowdays..... Its obvious you cant beat the soulless. Its like the "NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD" movie. Zombies always win. And yes I have petitioned and sent Screenshot about them :/
So main conclusion is: put up with them enjoy hanging around ingame, enjoy your friends/ally company and ignore the **** rascals!!!!
NO AFK RULE MUST BE PUT INTO PLACE. dont even need a gm to inforce it. have the petition give the offender a random question. If your worried about the bot program getting smart to the answers well, misspell a word or two lol.

I agree. If it was possible to follow the thread--these bots would be owned/controlled by some of the bigger and more powerful clans on your server!
These folks aren't botting to resell stuff--they are positioned by real players who want to be uber.
It's a SHAME there is no way to tie the bots to someone's main account--that would make perma bans more effective.
If you could only pay for an account with a credit card, then linking a card owner to accounts would be simple. In cases where it IS possible to show that "bob smith" owns account #1 (his mains) and account #2 and #3 where he gets caught running bots---I think ALL 3 of his accounts should be perma-banned.
Curiously, we have another thread where players are locked out of a hunting spot and the predominant message to the complainers was to shut up and go somewhere else.
In that case it was a dominant heroic character & clan who's prob'ly using a l2walking stick to play the game.
In this case it's a group of no-names, doing the same thing.
The suggestion above that NCSoft do the RMT selling actually kinda makes sense, but has a bad taste to it. Another thing they could do is buy rights to the bot program and just let us players choose to use it or not, and to solve our problems in-game.
/agree, catas/necros on devianne are full again on dev. couple weeks ago i think someone dropped a ban bomb in EV though, i was seeding mobs there for about 15 minutes, started up a petition, and suddenly 3 full bot groups dissapeared over the course of 2 minutes.
75% of all rooms in all Catacombs and Necros are infested with bots on bartz. Along with ToI, Wall of Argos, Hot Springs, Forge of Gods and Varka Silenos, even had sightings of bot-pwrlvl partys in pagans.
Why is it only 75%???
Because even the bots avoid the high p.def rooms.
