What tactics are ppl using vs raid boss (epic) farmers? AQ/core/orfen/zaken. On hindemith this clan Aoe farms every AQ spawn and there's not much we can do to stop them even if we pk them all they keep coming back and they train guard ants to our high lvls to get em raid silenced. played this game 3.5 years and im getting REAL tired of this crap tbh. this drop from a lvl 40 mob should not cost 800m adena.
I've heard of ppl bringing in noobs, like 40+ & like 20 of them, and let the farmers go RED on them, the will because they don't want the competition.
Then when the noobs all are dead, they have their mains logged in just outside the room and they switch. It wont get you an AQ ring, but it will get you some good drops.

Doesn't work unless the farmers are stupid. Smart farmers would wait until you get aggressive and PK them, only then do they kill you, while you're red. Sometimes they'll get ballsy and try to kill everybody, but only if they know they stand a good chance, and when that happens, believe me it gets ugly no matter what you have :P. Remember they have all the time in the world, you dont, they use that to their advantage.

you only need a group of necros lvl 40 to take the boss down. ask any high lvl.
or so i was told. by people who are just never wrong.
send in your high lvls to PK the farmers, send in the lowbie necros to farm the ring. it cant be that hard. a couple PK points on your end really is all youll amass.

Simply out DPS them is about your only option and make a grab for the ring. If they do get fiesty and flag let em go red while you continue to DPS, letting a clan mate or two switch and wack em.

If you petition raid farmers with enough chars they get banned.
Happens on kain alot, im friends with most the epic farmers because i like the extra numbers for pvp and their nice people just doing a job.
Both the epic farmer boss partys have been banned within 2 months of each other on kain in the last 2 months because of euro clans of 150+ people mass petitioning.

Camping raid bosses is not a banable offence. If those that do it use 3rd party programms, that is a bannable offence. And it shouldn't take xxx number of petitions for a banning to occur. One should be enough for a check.

Selling adena/items for real world money is a bannable offense, and that is what these farmers in question are doing. Regular alliances camping raid bosses aren't what we are talking about. You can just war those for some fun long term pvp.
You basically have a group of people who start from scratch with the *only* intention of farming raid bosses. They will use every trick in the book and then some to ensure they get that jewelry so they can sell it for dollars.
They're easy to distinguish from "legit" raid boss farmers, in that they *only* farm epic bosses, and you *never* see them spending the adena or wearing the jewelry they earn from it, since they never pvp (apart from raid skirmishes) or have any intention of reaching hero or whatever. They usually don't try to hide it. The ones I've spoken to are proud to brag about all the dollars they've made off of it and how fast they can get a monopoly on a boss on a new server.
This is a topic which keeps coming up and I keep saying, build a big enough alliance and lock it down yourself ;)

No farmer group stands a chance against any decent sized army. Take a few BREZ, get your [censored] down there and take them out. Well the only time I tried for Ant Queen with my alliance we were fighting them maybe for 12 hours.Tried about everything we could think off. But they had 2 bishops who they logged / ally rez / forceloged and no matter how many times they died they didnt care. We brought lowbies to pk them , I have even witnessed a trick where they would 1 shot our lowbies and they didnt flag..
I think it's just a waste of time , if you dont have THAT many people to just keep PKing the farmers while your lowbies do the raid. Maybe 2 parties focused on AQ and a couple high lvl parties focused on PKing the farmers.
Its a 200 $ drop for them ;). They wont leave it .

The way I see it, these things are kinda like the Festival of Darkness.
To do it right, you need a deliberately constructed group of the right character classes at the right level, and they should stay there week after week.
That makes it hard for regular players to do, because we tend to like to level our characters up, and don't keep regular schedules. Heck it's hard to just get everyone to show up for sieges, which happen at a time you get to schedule in advance.
If you could get a group of people to cooperate, you could basically become your own boss-farmer team. But then you'd be just as bad for every other clan/ally as the current farmers.

Can't you "lock down" the entrances so that they cannot come back, if you bring enough people? (serious question, I have not done Ant queen in a long time now)

EDIT: I just had a new idea. Make the zone where there are epic bosses a Karma free zone, i.e., you do not flag or gain karma for PvP or PK. Make it like the arena. Then it would be worth a fight to control the zone to farm the boss.

Actually they should just make QA, Orfen, and to a lesser degree Zaken just like Baium, Antharas, etc are.

Yes, many/most of them got banned on Bartz. They are botting back up atm. I seen a nuker with the a name similar to that of the leader of Bartz's ex top farmer clan AFK XP'ing in Silenos in bot groups yesterday. They already have 78+ EEs and 79+ OLs. Some of the farmer clans have some level 80s. I know, they buff me everytime I ask them to.
Before they got mass banned, I've seen them farm up for raids and to roll people who kill their bots. They at at least 40+ actively playted toon and probably about 10+ buffbots. All their mains were at least level 78, more than 75% of them were noblesse.
They can do AQ and still have 15-20 level 78+ players waiting for you to show up, if they wanted. You need the jewels, have fun fighting S Grade toons wiht +9/10/11 skills and top/OE'd gear with an alliance that is desperate for AQ rings.

Orp hus is down. They moved to a new site. I won't give the name but it's a nice way to see what toons are ebayed and may be applying to a clan near you when they are sold...
1. Have a buffed party of sorcs logged out in Nest and wait for her to spawn. Along with at least 1 strong party to fight off the farmers. Stay for hours until spawn always buffed, awake, and ready. Kill anyone who comes down, and their nuker party.
Login your nuker party and pray she drops the **** ring. Repeat for Core and Zaken. Repeat daily, once you lose the spawn time. You need to have someone camp it until you find it again.
2. Mass petition the farmers and hope the Gms ban the characters so you stop bothering them.
3. Farm the high epic bosses, organize oly feeding and farming crews. Obtain heros. Sell the massive amount of gear and handouts you get from both. Buy the [censored] ring instead of forcing people to wait hours to go red for a drop that might not come every day.
NC should make the epic boss jewels not tradable or dropped after the character obtained from picking up, no profit for farmers. ByeBye they go. Boss jewels are an imbalance for the game anyway.
A C grade boss (AQ) drops a B grade boss jewel with S grade mdef.... So which sorc from the party that killed the boss can use it... lol?
I wish there are c grade mobs that drops some b grade armor or weap.
Zaken is more reasonable, A grade boss drops an
A grade jewel. Ok the group that killed it can use the jewel without penalty.
So for people who wants AQ ring (if they are not tradable or dropped) but the toon is too high level, here comes subclass. Ding! Level 40 spot on :) Then level your subclass to A grade for Zaken.

Well selling spots in their raid group means the actual character (or account) that purchased the raid boss jewel needs to be present during the raid.
Of course, farmers will find another way to do their business, but it provides more limitations on how they function. As they can't keep them in stock; they need to organise with the buyer before hand (either to get their account details or time to meet etc...).
Giving some example scenarios :p
1) Actual buyer present during raid - Time of Boss spawn possibly be a problem for the actual buyer, as the spawn time might be the buyer's work time or sleep time. I live in a different time zone, so I always see the farmers active at around midnight US time and very early European time, where most people are sleeping. As a result, this comes to giving account details to farmers.
2) Alliances that want to kill the Epic bosses, they should have an idea of the names of the farmers. I did a few of them with my alliance, we have target macros for their bishops (so they can't do their **** mass rez >.<). If the boss jewels becomes not tradable or dropped, then the people just have to target the one that doesn't belong to the group. Kill him, kill the rezzers. Nothing much the farmers can do, even they manage to kill the boss and obtain another boss jewel; they can't sell it (not tradable or dropped).
Eventually, when they don't make enough RL money from the boss jewels (keeping in mind how many people and accounts they need to run for the raids), they will stop farming the epic boss and think another way to make RL money from the game.

about time i flamed you so before i do so i have to add that your alliance is giving LS the biggest run for their money they have had for a while in regards to epics boss, so here goes...
your alliance has one of the biggest ebayers known on the server, it's alliances like yours - jammed packed full of botters that fill the need for ebayed gear so you can't really blame anyone but yourself since you actively recruit ppl you know will be buying their gear from the farmers
it's not like we don't already see ppl giving their account info to farmers for plvling already

We sure are getting flames from a lot of people in the server (weeeeeee, I smell BBQ XD) not just from you, but meh I'm kind of used to it.

In the end, what if someone started the game in Interlude and wants to join a clan; should they go do some reseacher for the past Chronicles (from Prelude to C5) before joining them?

lol, its so much harder than this. for a start, its sorcs. the farmers drag the guards to silence your high lvls (44+)
they also have high lvl tank/nukers. u can pk em all it doesnt matter they will log something and get a mass res off. (they log on walker, its instant)
i just witnessed clan Aoe login and kill the AQ within 2-3 minutes of spawn. they all logged in the same time, probably all scripted/walker. and im AMAZED ncsoft does nothing about it. just incredible.

problem is, they login within 30 seconds of spawn and its dead within 2 mins. so unless ur entire guild is camping out aq 24/7..which isnt realistic, we can only get it when the farmers are asleep.

try it. you have to be there before it spawns or you wont make it. which means you can forget everything else in L2. you have to become farmers to compete with farmers which is unrealistic for 99.999% of us.

LS is who you are currently fighting at zaken and AQ, although it is assumed that the company was sold a lot of the old players still operate the accounts and kubaby (possibly banned now kubabi) is their seller account

(i.e. How old the account is, who it belongs to, and WHY that specific destroyer account and the cov you are picking on? why only our alliance? How about other destroyer, suddenly popped up high level toons in other alliance? etc..... :p ).

Tbh, the whole legit thingy is just like a ball that will only keep rolling down the hill. If all people should check facts before joining a clan, imo new people should just stay vagabond as less than 5% of active clans is going to be 100% legit (as it seems like whether the clan is good/bad depends on who is in it).
This is based on the facts that:
Do all the clans know who the actual person is when they join the clan (his/her history, all the toons that he/her has, how they leveled or got their toon/ account... there is hundreds and thousands of question to be asked :p)?
An example might be: The biggest ebayer in the server have multiple toons, and he joins different clans with his alt toons. Still considered as the same person even with a different identity then *BAM* a clan becomes illegit :p. Maybe some people will say no because its a different identity, but... its the same RL person behind it and did the illegit things in the end.
Every active clan has their own skeleton in the closet, its just a matter of fact that whether they (and/or others) know it or not.
Back to the main topic ;o, if NCsoft puts some limitations for the farmers such as I suggested in the posts before (i.e. non-tradable, cannot be dropped and freighted), it will require a lot more organising effort for the farmers and it will be harder for them as they can't just keep them in storage. But for now, the only tactic vs epic boss farmers is we become the farmer ourselves :p

the second you point out their flaws they just start claiming there is no legit clans left so why bother in fact i seem to remember many of your members making the same accusations as me against syn and insane back in the day when you had very few corrupted members, their counter argument is pretty much the same as yours
here is my list of clan legit status
1. clan tries to be legit and actively seeks out illegitimate members and kicks them once sufficient evidence is found
2. clan recruits members under the assumption they are legit and if evidence of wrong doing is found but no future wrong doing is planned does not remove member
3. clan actively recruits members who are either powerful or friends irregardless of their current or future wrong doings
4. clan recruits members under what ever condition and encourages cheating to gain an edge
i would rank your clan as a 3 which is what i would also rank syn, NM and 4OD

L2 politics is very much similiar to real life politics. Look at the big and strong countries (good example USA :p). Imagine if they all followed the rules to play the game, will they ever be a big and strong country? (Mmmm.... I like how government and media can cover things up ^^)
Even how I dislike cheaters in this game, it is part of the game (coz NC doesn't take enough action?) and only going with the flow allows me to enjoy the game.

L2 politics is very much similiar to real life politics. Look at the big and strong countries (good example USA ). Imagine if they all followed the rules to play the game, will they ever be a big and strong country? (Mmmm.... I like how government and media can cover things up ^^)

Even how I dislike cheaters in this game, it is part of the game (coz NC doesn't take enough action?) and only going with the flow allows me to enjoy the game.

the sad thing is that your alliance is packed full of ppl who are not happy about the way CD plays the game but every day they make the decision that they would rather play in a powerful clan then a legit one

Things that would help real players compared to farmers don't have to be as drastic as stopping trading or anything like that IMO.
I love the idea of making epic boss areas free pvp zones though.
But simply stopping mass rez, not allowing people to log out for more then five minutes or a regular spawn time (ala frintezza) would be enough to put real players on an equal footing with the farmers and giving the real players a VERY good chance of beating the farmers.
Then all that is required is a PVP group willing to go very red and the people ready to do the raid at the right time.
Petition the farmers though. who knows, someone may actually look into where the money goes from their accounts.
Farmers can't pvp, for [censored], are not buffed for it and are not equipped for it. Two high levels could take out their clan with the right buffs.
What tactics are ppl using vs raid boss (epic) farmers? AQ/core/orfen/zaken. On hindemith this clan Aoe farms every AQ spawn and there's not much we can do to stop them even if we pk them all they keep coming back and they train guard ants to our high lvls to get em raid silenced. played this game 3.5 years and im getting REAL tired of this crap tbh. this drop from a lvl 40 mob should not cost 800m adena.

I was here just like everyone else trying to give some suggestions on the tactics vs epic boss farmers. Read again page 4 and 5 of my post (simply giving suggestions on what nc can do to help the real players out), then somehow you started flaming my alliance o.O

if you want to stop the farmers the tactics you use are these
tell your alliance members to stop ebaying so much
stop buying the farmers accounts
stop running your bot trains through the good areas in game
stop preventing more legit clans than yours from doing the raids

That's worked...ever? Cheating has been built into this game from inception. You don't want folks to buy toons? Make it so that it isn't that attractive of an option. You don't want folks to buy Adena? Make it so that the average player can attain reasonable gear without spending an unhealthy chunk of their lives grinding like mad just for one item. If that doesn't work then at least present them with the thought of impending doom in the form of a permanent ban should they try it.
Seriously, what's going to change first: the human condition or L2? Millions of years of evolution or a video game? Take your time I know that this is a toughie for some of you. Wait, better yet don't answer that. Just go another three years blaming people for taking advantage of NCSoft's unwillingness or inability to ban cheaters. Never blame cheaters for cheating.
