Note: Should a Character Transfer have a name conflict on the destination server, a free Character Rename will be made available to resolve the conflict and rename the moving character.

The Lin2 prices for Korea were 9900 won iirc, about a third of a month's subscription.
But with the US dollar so low, it looks like CoX is about the same as a month's subscription. :p Regardless, a small amount for something they can prob'ly automtatize.
I have to say as a player I am very uncomfortable with renames on the same server. There's no gameplay reason for that, and the potential for mischief (both with and against the ToS) is huge.
The korean prices are 30k won for server and account transfer (2 separate things), 10k won for gender change, and 20k won for name change. 10k won is almost exactly $11 usd.
I wouldn't put too much weight on those prices though, there's no reason L2 NA needs to follow their model exactly.
I hope there are some restrictions or "strings attached" to name change, since being able to change it freely as many times as you want sounds a bit whacky. Oh hey, didn't I see you in a cata together with ilIliIlIlill the other day?..

That's interesting. Wouldn't it be kinda easy to just have a friend (or your second account even) to just make an alt on that server with your character's name to get a freebie namechange?
I guess it's not considered a big deal, since you're paying the fee to have gm's spend half a minute on transferring you and it's not an issue to just change your name while they're at it.
I agree that on server transfers they're gonna have to do name changes.
These many years, and the fact they didn't wipe after beta means that there's a huge amount of names already used. When I make a new character it usually takes several tries to get a name that's not yet taken.
But on a new server, no one is gonna know that you're a scamming jerk, no matter what name you use. The thing I'm concerned about are some players that have trashed their in-game reputation and made enemies -- if they can change their name and do it all over again with a fresh rep, that's gonna stink.
