Decided to keep the calculator from dwarven village quest hoping I can calculate without Alt-Tab, but the calcuator is bugged and useless.
For example it calculates correctly 385x3=1155, but 384x3=0 etc etc...

You need to put SA "accuracy" on it.

O.o
They borrowed MS Excel's math logic?

Or enchant it to +4 or more.

Maybe pray it breaks, the math fails, and you get 2 billion crystals.

It doesn't do decimals either, so division on it is really unreliable.
According to it, 3/2 is 2.
Which yeah, is really really dumb. I can't comprehend why it would possibly be hard to implement a working in-game calculator.

I thought it was kind of funny that in the quest the dwarf basically said that it was junk, and then it turned out to be unreliable.
As for the AxB = 0 thing turn off the calculator, and then turn it back on. This bug usually happens after you press CE on the calculator.

that right there is what makes it useless
try and calculate your profits from making SS and those decimal places really start to add up
forgive my noob programing skills but i assume changing a few variables from "int" to "float" would fix that

To think people have paid 200k for these things in the past lol.
Maybe if they bring out a new one, the old one will become a collectors item ^^

Once, a clanny bought me 200 spirit ores at 490a in Giran. I come at the Derby to make the trade and on teamspeak he says "I'm going to use that calculator". A quick use of MS Calculator gave me 98k, but L2 Calculator gave him about 140k or something like that.
Well at least it was a good laugh on TS with jokes about dwarves who shouldn't be trusted with their modified calculator to scam people :p

The quest (
http://lineage2.stratics.com/content/library/quests/index.php?id=15017 ) dialog mentions it only can handle simple equations because it's not the "newer" model so maybe that explains it.

We had this discussion about a year ago. Being the smallest unit of measurement is 1 Adena.... Tell me how do you sell something for .2 Adena :)

The smallest unit might be 1 adena, but the smallest unit of shots isn't 1. You can sell 1k ss @ 11.3a each which gives 11300a for 1k ss. Silly oroka fighters, math are for overlords.

You can't sell it for 11.3 each :)
It's ether 11 Adena or 113 Adena. This Orcs has math Skillz

It's not noob programming, it was prob'ly a lot harder to make it work wrong.
Given all the other quests in dwarven village, it'd be just wrong if the invention actually worked.

You're not paying attention to what he wrote. Or you don't know that you can sell 1k SS at 11300 by checking a box in the sellshop window.

yeah but then the person purchasing then has to buy in bulk, which isn't "each" in the sense that splatter refered to...

But the profit and cost of the shots can still be calculated as a per shot cost, and then compared to the profit earned by selling each one individually.
