That is definitely not normal, the character disappears and is in game. You disappear if you are reaching a new load zone and your PC is slow, but neither of those spots are near a load zone. Looks like some kind of exploit to me, it is not forcelog as the character is still in game. THose guys should be banned.
what server are you on?
kinda looks like nightmare tags which are well known botters on gustin
i had that happen to my se once at ABG while she had agro and a second later when she re appeared she had lost agro but i have never seen anything remotely like that
if i was you i would do what i could to invoke the ban hammer
The character turns invisible as it would have forcelogged but is still there (PM). That's awesome what you can do without the server notices anything...
You can log with a handmade client, use third party programs have more infos, bot, etc. Really, Gameguard is a big hole.
Other clients than the official shouldn't be able to log. That would solve many problems.
If she had simply dissappeared and still responded to pm (so not force log and neither bsoe (i saw no bsoe animation)) then it's definatley a ****... detectable or undetectable by NcSoft, that's what only they know...

File to big to DL right now, but offhand, I would lean towards it being lag.
I've been two-accounting-one box for a while now. (Couple of months) and one thing I have noticed is when loading new areas things can lag a LOT (local machine wise) if you don't stop and wait for the PC to catch up. And when it does at least one of the accounts will 'fade out' and back in. When that happens it loses target and other things, but doesn't actually disconnect.
If you have a slow enough machine and only one account, this could just be the same effect (Blackscreen) for one player that your seeing in action.
...Now if the person can do this 'on demand' at any time/place, then I would say that it was a cheat. Probably not a perma-ban at first (Like the L80 baby-pet/raid boss twink) but something to watch with caution, as it may be 3rd party *hardware* related and not 3rd party client. (Or just a clever, copy Huge file X when ever I want a poor man's fake death exploit...if it's Vista, could be as simple as playing a MP3, since Vista totally borks your net connection when you play a MP3.)
Thats just lag, I've lagged and had the same thing happen right around that area of Ketra. Happens a lot more if you run 2 or more clients on a crappy computer and try to switch windows around the load spot.
Edit: Second time he disappeared was probably just a bsoe without the animation, happens a lot too.
ive had that black out in the cats with 15 monsters in my pole run. when the black out came back, the monsters lost me and were walking back. Maybe the player can force a black out in pvp, and have the same effect on the games target system. other wise it was lag for that movie up there, and force logging.
I didn't watch the movie, but from the replies here it seems like this is simply the teleport ****? If it is, it's beeing used alot by Serbian hackers on Devianne server. This **** has been ingame since Chronicle 1. Basically, you bind a key button on your keyboard to completely desynch you from the L2 server for a moment. What happens is the same thing that happens when someone seriously lags, disappears and re-appears somewhere else. Except in this case you cause it with the press of a key button :) useful in some pvp cases I guess.
there is no way it is lag, they are immediately mobile when they come out of the vanishing. when you are experiencing lag like this it takes you a few moments to get moving again. I have never seen anything like this in my 3+ years of playing lineage 2. the one at ketra orc port is definite proof it is not a lag. At ketra orc port you are in the same loadzone as goddard so no map loading is required from town to the port.

I have had this exact same type of lag at right around that spot, more than once. The game DOES load some stuff at that area. And there was nothing wrong with the fight at the ketra port, those last 2 looks like bsoes, the animation doesn't always show up especially with a slow computer, or fraps running which slows it down even more.
all i know is when i blank out for what ever reason, the server loses track of me. The monsters act like i dont exsist when i come back from the blackout. So all they have to do is lag them selfs, the player still moves but is invisable to the game.
the pvp at port might be bsoe's but i aint buying that black out crap for the first one
the dude comes out of that "blackout" healing him self then instantly switches target to trance
Well considering sniffer from l2whatever pretty much manipulates with packets, it should not be any problem to simulate "lag". Few generated icmp "source quench" sent to next router just came to my mind.
durring a lag period... where your character will freeze on a loading zone... you cannot reply or see any additional TEXT.... Not until the loading is done and everything..
What i saw there i watched over several times....
It wasn't LAG.... it's fairly obvious that something was up.
and actually if your already in combat mode... if you try and log in again to the account that's in such a mode.. the character REMAINS there and doesn't emediately disappear until you actually get into the server, and pick your character.... I've thoroughly tested this in multiple senarios so i'm quite familare with what someone is doing.. (and i've caught people... which typically has lead to a ban or them getting there act together quite quickly....)
After playing the game for 3 years and having seen what "lag" looks like, that is 100% not lag, any long term player will see that. Im leaning towards them having another client that they are mashing the login button on, if you check out when the bishop first dissapears, she is only out of game for the amount of time it takes a good computer to load the game, im guessing that person hit the "ok" button a few too many times and started loading the client they were using to force log and since the interlude client no longer kicks you out when you get D/C they could have force logged out the secondary client with the original client.
It shows a good example of a crappy clan if they have to do that though.
I should also mention that force logging in any manner is completely against the ELUA.. even if you use a legal client and use "typical normal means"....
AKA, if you load up more then one client and purposefully use the 2nd client to "hot" login to force an already logged in toon OFF... it's a bannable offence....
I have no idea who it is I just know it's not Nightmare because towards the end you can see who he's attacking and the name seems to be holy someone or other with a similar named ally.
Agreed, but it's not, not even our server. There are several clans on Franz and Teon that have same tags as peeps on Gustin. Odd to see but makes it a little more like home :p
lol when u force log ur char, it stays ingame for 15 seconds unless u log it out on another client?
Doubt it, Either that or she has some beast of a pc and is able to login, select server, choose and char and get ingame within what? 5 seconds?
Does it Twice too meaning she must have 3 clients open. lol.
Er..
All you need to do is type in your account and password and hit enter. You do not need to go to your server or character.
Some just have it typed in, alt tab, hit enter, done. (Less then a second on a decent computer)
I am pretty sure that the game was not designed to allow you to be able to log your character off instantly when you are about to die. So using such a tactic, even without using a 3rd party application, wouble be an exploit.

You can't log instantly if you are fighting unless it is forced (which is against EULA). Sometimes when I'm playing and I've decided to finish up (bored, food etc) if I hit exit when I've finished fighting a mob it won't close immediately because I'm still in 'combat mode'. I need to move my character away from where I was fighting before I can end game.
actually logging your character out by logging your own account on with a 2nd window is legal
dont know what u talkin bout
As many other players has said in this thread. It is against the EULA to use it because it is an exploit that allows you to get away from danger in a way that was never meant to be.

I just read thru the whole ULA and couldn't find it.
NCSoft obviously deliberately built it in, because any other login of game or system that I've ever seen doesn't log off the first client if you attempt a duplicate process.
Screw the EULA. That video clearly shows a ****. How many times can you lag like that and be able to play the game. The person seems able to do it at will.
