As we are seeming to have quite a few new players coming in the the game I think it would be nice to have (prabably under community) a section solely for new players.
Things that regular players feel they should know about (like the great post about common scams) can go in there.
As many new players ask the same questions regularly it would also probably be easier for them to find the answer to their question.
The typical one that comes up again and again for instance ......
"I used my scroll, I'm in Giran and have no Adena - how do I get back?"
I also think it would help make new players feel more at ease as this is the type of game that has a large community presence which new people will take a while to feel part of. Having their own section I think would give them their own little community to be part of while they get used to the game (regular players obviously still use it to answer their questions) and they are all in the same boat as it were - well hopefully not the one from TI, takes ages ;)
if noobs were dumb enough to not read up in here before trying the game, or were silly enough not to go looking for more yellow exclamation marks, what makes you think they would read a section entitled "NOOBZ ONLY LOLZ"
I think this would turn into the same thing as the Player Questions. People have questions. They ask them. People respond. Whether it comes from a veteran or a noob it's still the same workflow.
A New Players forum might be a bit redundant when we have the Player Questions section, but maybe I can tweak that area (change the title and description) so that it serves both purposes. With that said, we are exploring some different forum programs that, if we switch to, would change things up a bit (for the better) too.
We'll pick whichever one has the best security, and will give us all the features we want. I've got a list of "must-have features", many of which are based off of suggestions folks have made here, that we're working around.

What a great endorsement to link to a broken site. :p
srsly, I dunno why any customer would care what software they use to run it -- I'd rather they keep it the same and avoid unnecessary downtime.
(case in point, the stratics "improvements" that have led me to never use their site anymore)
The main L2 Stratics website hasn't been improved at all yet, thats why you're seeing issues. As noted in the other thread, things hit a snag, so the main site wasan't moved (All the forums were).
We're sorry about that, should be resolved as soon as the move is done for real for the site itself.

Link is fine for me.
I actually use that forum. It's good stuff. It integrates well with many databases and CMS. And if NCsoft NA seriously considered using it, they should write/call the developers and get on the beta for 2.0
