Been reading up on the totems and so on. And im wondering if its viable to stay in heavy armor always as a Tyrant?
Found a few very outdated guides were its briefly mentioned that some Tyrants just stay in heavy armor and skipping the Accuracy and Running speed you get from light.
Depends on your lvl imo. Some tyrants or other "genious" players might give you some flack for going heavy, but heavy until sg is possible without it being a bad thing.
Thats mostly duo to that minus accu doesn't matter since fists got inadvertly high acc and for run spd. meh its not that big of a loss, particuarly in pve. You got those fisty totems as you mentioned. There are lvl intervals where light can be a better option but I went heavy from 52-76 with no problems. The light armor masteries doesn't really catch in with heavy p.def until high level and evasion? Meh, depends a bit on your playstyle, personally happy to have missed out on it when xping in bision lvl +68. Evading and vring yourself out of 30% or 60% hp would probably get a tad annoying when in hot spots
What you lose is made up for in totems/heavy stats/p.def and "damage control". Not saying light is [censored], just depends on what you place emphasis on. When reaching sgrade it depends on your tattoo setup. Most would say no as the "standard" post lvl 76 tattoo setup involves -9 dex. There you will need the light armor in order to make up for tat setup if you choose to use it.
Sorry not to sound slow but how? Higher p.def = you can take harder monsters = better xp so it evens out. Imo it comes down to where you exp. You mentioned to maintain bison always on so even though it gives slight bonus at 100% hp I assume 60% hp. For that you couldn't you just use homu w/ conversion to quickly go down? Not trying to say you are wrong or anything, just curious as I opted the heavy way without any of said problems. At 68 I was exping on Bandersnatch slaves in WoA without needing active heals or needing pots to stay up. Something that couldn't be said for a DC light armor tyrant I knew that was 3 lvls higher. Though must admit my experience with exping in light is restricted to PL and talking with other tyrants so meh :P
you can take a far harder beating with Heavy armor than you can even in +6 light. case in point - +6 DClight vs Tallum heavy.
some swear its the easiest to go tallum heavy and use alternating Bear/bison in dire situations. some say you just dont get hurt hard enough to take you from the 60% hp to 30% hp in fast enough time in tallum heavy. in DClight you get hurt harder (marginally) making the transition to bison easier for those NOT using health weapons.
true enough, carrying something for conversion and carrying a Health DG makes it easy to get to 45% but the inherent invasive action of switching (and remembering what youre doing) can be difficult for some people especially when they use Tyrant as thier main class. its expensive, and very hard to keep up even without the added costs of more mats for the Heavy craft, so it becomes harder on the wallet as well as harder on the concentration.
but its still a valid way to play. just harder.
easier in DClight/tallum light simply because you can solo green mobs for full exp without any need whatsoever of healers, or buffers. healing and buffing in a can is sufficient.
in DClight the method is simple - bleeding yourself and hunting will naturally take you down to 30% hp around 4-5 mobs in. at this point you pop Zealot/GHP/bison and you hunt all those mobs again for a straight kill rate of 10x what you did to get to bison in the first place. you can aoe pull and still 1by1 kill mobs for straight up fast exp.
thats also an expensive route to go tho, because not only are you counting on the mobs to keep you down past 30%, youre popping GHP's like crazy just to keep yourself safe. the cost to light can be just as much as for heavy, but at the bonus of the "never really need buffs" factor of it.

NM light, Dragon Grinders/Health, +5CON +4STR all -DEX and it's not so bad in my experience. You'll still need to be popping GHP's and stuff but not nearly as badly.
Meh I wouldnt risk losing the +10 to spd for heavy for either pvp or pve. Only one maybe is +'d out Doom Heavy for the hp bonus and yes of course it depends on +con set up.
