Well, after seeing all the posts here about an OL. I would like to know which class is more at ease when it comes to soloing, a WC or an OL? (do have a boxed pp to grind with OOP).
A WC, I'm sure. They can buff themselves with their own melee buffs to at least help solo. I don't know much about OLs, but melee buffs don't seem to be their thing - more like nuker/caster buffs, clan heals, and AoE debuffs. Now, if they had an SE for melee buffs and mana recharges, I think that would help, because then they could make liberal use of Soul Cry. Otherwise, an OL really needs clan support for leveling.
Take note, I don't think a WC will have much fun soloing after somewhere in the 60s. I'm sure it could be done, but I'm thinking the WC would probably spend most of their time in Balzing Swamp.
In the next update overlords will have a more essential role in aoe.
I haven't seen that. What are they getting? Not that I know many of them. But if even just their current AoE debuffs would work more consistently, I would love to have them in a pole party.

Not sure about Overlords getting a buff it might just be that Overlord AoE debuffs might be the only way some see as making up for the lack of healing that the VR nerf represents. If VR won't heal the damage, and you can't find healers to offset the damage, then I guess the next best thing is to take less. Dunno.
As one who has solo'd my OL a bit here and there, WC is definately more of a soloable class. The buffs on WC are much closer to standard pp buffs w/ the VR thrown in there for goood measure.
Also, I think the tat setup for WC doesn't remove their STR as much as you do with OL and I have seen alot of WCs in Light with a serious mele weapons, instead of the mage weapons I need to use for the OL.
My problem has been to find the write combo of exp and mana balance.
Outside Goddard is ok, easy grind, 4 - 6k per kill, easy killing but very slow over all
Go to the entrance to the WoA - Antelope's give closer to 10k per kill, a bit harder, no drops worth anything but ok.
Blasing Swamps - everything but the bat swarms are cool at this level. Problem is the layout of the land lends itself to griefing and PvP all the time. Very rare to get a good 3 buff rounds out of there before something happens :(
Nothing good in Cats, even w/ my tal. heavy and a pole w/ wideblow. Seems a lot of them, in the first rooms have stunners now.
Yea, early 60's had some great places. Never used my seals, just my drains and sleep.
what if a high lvl PP is in tow to buff. i'm guessing OL should be ok then? since i already have a prophet, not sure if i want to go WC then (only exception here being VR).
I have a high level pp with me. It still comes down to choping down trees, yes it can be done, but comparied to my alts who are mele, it takes forever solo on my OL.
neither one, WC and OL are PARTY BUFFERS. If you want to solo, get yourself a nuker or archer.
this is a mmo, not a solo game.
Compared to EE's, SE's, and Bishops...WC/OL can solo well. People who want to roll a support class but don't want to be completely dependent on others to get them from 20-7X see WC's and OL's as a viable alternative with some distinctive tweaks.

and by the way, i have a 76 dominator and if the landing rate on seals are oooook, it's close to ******ed in pvp.
OL (can not buff pets with clan/ally buffs) and WC both can solo but the best of the 2 is WC. WC Solo just fine with a WOLF or Wind Hatchling at it's Side. get +4 DEX or +4 STR -4 Con and just start owning mobs with the only down time being just restock SS
no no no, you dont wanna solo with a WC or OL. If you allready have a pp for buffs I see no reason to level a WC in the first place. Both are pvp unfriendly atm, with the exeption of large scale battle where a OL can be fun if cp healing/buffing an entire ally/clan is your thing.
lol, we can magic crit again. PvP in arena doesn't count since no one really uses CP pots there, and the MP nerf can be counteracted. With divine lore passive, +8 to cost and Passivle clarity augment on my arcana mace my Steal essence costs ~130mp, 7mp less than before the nerf.

add arcane power and that adds more mp usage though =/

But think just how much better it would be if they removed the nerf ;)
