You can't see the server forums now unless registered? Good or bad? The server forums helped newbies decide what server they wanted to go to and now that is gone. It was also a great way to stop at any terminal around work and just read up (when there was anything worth reading). What do you think?
There's a lot more hate and flaming in the server forums, I can see why they did this. Not really any information that people not playing the game need to know anyway.
In the end, it doens't make a big diffirence. I would say maybe 10% if that of people come to check forums first.
I sure didn't - cause even if you check, you have no idea what anybody is talking about.
Have one forum open for questions which is readable by all and writable by anyone with an account, active or otherwise. Make the forum moderated so the posts have to be approved before being displayed.
If they did that everyone would move to blah where NC wouldn't be able to moderate anything. Or to some other unsavory site where where anything goes including things that mama NC wouldn't want you to be doing.
the logging in to read forums part is great as long as you dont have the problem i have. the log in page takes you to an https (not http) site, which comes up as a nonexistent page for me from the office computer. therefore, no logging in for me when im stuck in the office. of course, being a government employee, half the sites that are even slightly interesting are blocked anyways, so i guess it just comes with the territory.
i say make the server forums viewable by all.
-->your tax dollars at work :p
