I don't keep a list, all I know is that I'm super average.
I bought 10 maj ring recipes once and did them in a batch. I failed exactly 3. On another occasion I did 5 60% b-grade gloves and boots in a batch, and failed exactly 2.
My OE record is way more interesting. I screenshot every time I pop or when I reach my target level. I only have 7 screenshots of dark screamers. 6 of them popped going to +4. Probably popped over 40 brig gaiters trying for +6, got a bronze helmet to +9 on the first try, got a brig tunic to +9 on PTS after like two tries, spent over 80 mill trying for +6 doom boots (factoring in the return from crystals), and got +6 blue wolf boots on the second try.
i failed
- lots of boots and gloves A grade
- Saint spear *2
- Dragonhunter axe
- lots of jewel A and S grades
- soul seperator
- all OE i tried
success :
- basalt battle hammer
- drac bow
- dragon hunter axe
- som
- tallum glaive
- lots of A and S jewels
- bloody orchid
- lots of armor parts A grade
In fact, it seems that when i need an item, it successes, and when i don't need it failed !! lol
As fortune seeker, crafting doesn't me cost lost of adenas, so i do lots of craft, perhaps 1 each 2 days. I crafted all weapons or armors i have, but IC set i buyed (525m for full +3 unsealed)
Not exactly sure about them all but the ones that I do remember were...
Succeeded + Failed -
DC Robe +7/-1
DC Helmet +1/-1
Majestic Helmet +1/-1
Majestic Boots +2
Majestic Leather Armor +2
Nightmare Leather Armor +1
Nightmare Boots +1/-3
Tallum Heavy Armor +2
Tat Earring +3
Tat Necklace +1
DLE -2 (this one I did with my bro and it hurt badly)
Soul Bow +1
Soul Seperator +1
Doom Crusher +1/-1
SoM +1/-1
and various other a grade jewels and such I can't rmember atm.
i succeeded about 24/25 of A and S jewels
i failed 7 60% bw helms in a row
i know its not asked but my success for OE is
failed 5/6 +4 weapon enchants
spent 50 million adena trying to +6 a set of brig and all i managed was 1 pair of +4 gaiters (using the get them all to +4 then try for +5 method)
I dont remember every single craft, tbh when I was poor and could barelly afford 1 craft I think I always failed them, like Kris/Wizards Tear etc
But I do remember 1 crafting session that pretty much made my game in end game
3x Drac Bows
2x Forgotten Blades
2x Arcana Maces
all succeeded in a row ... it was pretty weird, earned this earned that earned the other :p I was thinking I d succeed maybe 3/7, maybe make a couple of hundred mill and ended up making close to 2 bil
I have only done one OE, which was to bring my Crystal Dagger to +4.
As an aside, I also almost never land blows or backstabs, so I think it has been determined by NCsoft that my character will have nothing go right for him at all.
Failing a b-grade weapon twice in a row literally broke my character, in terms of money. Fortunately I have very kind friends. I frankly think it is obscenely harsh. I can understand the fail rate on over-enchantment - you're gambling in order to tweak performance. But for core things like armor and weapons.. it just feels really brutal.
Without some combination of friends, supportive clan or ebay, I don't think a genuine new player could survive a failed b-grade weapon, for example, unless they were doing a lot more trading on the market than actual hunting in the game.
I spent my high Bgrade hunting with a Darkscreamer /w Focus... thats fail for you.
I'll be honest with you.. if I were raising a dagger character again, I would intentionally stick with screamer and simply try to OE it, rather than making a Kris.
Just to elaborate - when the game was new and B-grade was the best you could get, the current system made a lot of sense to me. Basically C-grade was as far as most people could go. And a minority of players, either through luck, dedication, or unscrupulous activity, could have B-grade.
But now that B is no longer anything special, and not even very long-lived (in terms of usefulness), it just makes no sense.
p.s. Noldor your personification of your crafter made me smile. Over the weekend I had a clanmate helping me out. He logged on two accounts so we could have two dwarves handling the subassemblies (there were a lot..). Anyway after the thing went poof, he had his two female dwarves doing the socialsad emote to eachother over and over. Your description made me think of that scene lol.

Let's say I *do* feel bad when people trust me with their crafts and I fail to deliver the product. Of couse, we all know it's 60 or 70% crafting, but a hella lots of mats and effort for some. :(
if it wasnt for the insane SS consumption C grade weapons have I d agree with you ^^
Well, for example my crystal dagger takes 3 CSS so that's costin me 3x18=54 adena per swing (goin by market prices). Kris will use 1 BSS per swing, but that could cost me anywhere from 75 to 125 adena, depending on whether I can find any BSS for sale that day.
So, yeah it's using less SS, but it's sure not saving me money. >,<
You forgot to take into account the number of swings to kill a mob.
C dagger 10 swings @54 = 540
B dagger 5 swings @75 = 375
B dagger 5 swings @125 = 625
So if you get bss for less than 108 (540/5) each you actually make profit. (if the hits needed to kill are half of DS)
But if it takes more swings to kill it, then it's not so profitable:
B dagger 7 swings @75 = 525
B dagger 7 swings @125 = 875
Profit threshold 77
Note: dont have any data to back up my calculations as I just took the number of hits from my head.
It's flawed...., daggers are low p.atk classes. The impact on swings per kill on Weapon Grade is like
10 Crystal Dagger
8 1/2 with Demon Dagger at best.
Especially Dagger swings per mob, depending on Blows / "Crits" and SAs. P.atk itself doesn't have any significant impact. Unless you go from a +0 C to a +10 B...
Daggers Are Expensive- :D
If you like substanial damage and get the best out of your shots, (-Focus),
If you're feeling like god himself smiles on you everyday, Go with CD ;) You will need to land styles alot to make up focus.

Agree. They really are. You're swinging fast and blowing through shots like there is no tomorrow.

Nice way of putting it. But crit rate no longer influences landing rate of styles. Anyway - overall I agree with you - another reason I would not go with crystal dagger again. Better to stay with dark screamer, and if you want more damage, take your chances at OE.
