I have finally managed to get my human knight to lvl 40 and i just cant choose what one to make. I want to choose the one that will be best at the end (7X). i looked through Phenix's skills and the were ok and then i saw a skill that makes it so you can resurrect yourself and was going to take it but then i looked at hell knights skills and the seemed alot better than most of pheonix's skills but i cant choose which one is best at end game?
Check out the Human Fighter forum for more conversation about these two classes.
As for the blah stuff, only go there if you have less IQ than your shoe size, then you may stand a chance at surviving the black hole of intelligence that site offers.
So far here is the most usefull comment i have found about DA at high lvl and some about pally. But since i play a DA, i only took the time to search about this class :p

DA by far is definatly a powerful class, however do to the lack of tanks period on servers, some merly look at the specs of the paladin and the DA, and bias their opinions purly off that alone. For starters, don't like the DA because of his undead skills, most of them are completly useless.
Life Scavenge-completly useless, not only do you need a dead corpse to be around in order to use it, but it only heals maybe 200hp max at its highest level, not to mention there's not always an abundence of corpes, especially in seiges or in olympiad.
Corpse plauge- simply put is an aoe poison, but you need a corpse yet again, and this skill is based off your M. atk, which means its never going to land becaues your a tank.
Horror- sounds like a fun skill, being able to make a player or mob run away, but yet again this skill is based off M. atk, good luck getting this to land on anybody your own level or higher. works on mobs ok though.
Touch of death- by far one of the Hell knights best abilities, can cancel buffs, bring your enemy down to 10% of his CP, and make it easier to debuff your victim. only weakness to this skill is your hp has to be at 75% or lower in order to use, plus it costs 1k hp. don't get me wrong, this is my favorite skill period as a HK, i pwn most classes in olympiad because of this.
Panther- the pride of any dark avenger lies in his panther, this allowes a DA to actually solo mobs, yes there's a 10% exp penalty, but the panther makes killing mobs a ton faster, i personally think the 10% loss is a small price to pay. 3rd class DA's, or HellKnights can even use a giant book to enchant the panther skill to +1, boosting its stats very nicely. only down side is you won't see any more increases again till +10. The panther's performance veries in pvp, in a 1v1 type fight, the panther will excell, however in a mass pvp type battle, most people are smart enough to take down the panther first, not to mention simple enemy aoes can bring the kitty down fast.
There are plenty of skills the paladin and DA share as well, shield stun, majesty, deflect arrow etc. The paladin by far is definatly the best "survivor" of the two tanks, having awsome heals, and touch of life. but because of the DA's offensive ability with the panther, and later touch of death, this gives the DA a major pvp advantage. Hell knights are also great for olympiad, a 78 HK with touch of death can beat most classes thrown at him. So if your having trouble deciding between DA and pld, both classes are great in their own ways, but that decision really lies down to weither or not you plan to pvp, or just beat on mobs.
If you compare both classes, both HK and PK are very good tanks.
Simple comparisons since I have played both:
HKs panther tends to die rather fast. In alot of cases even before the panther reaches the target! This goes when facing buffed nukers, archers, Duelists, Titans and more. You can see it happen plenty times by watching some of Aeze or dontlookatme movies. After that, a good HK will rely on himself to win the fight. For less skilled HKs; this is usually the end. Makes me wonder why they summoned it in the first place?
The less buffed an opponent is though, the longer the panther will live and be able to do it's work. Also in normal PvE the panther is a great help and HKs definitely solo faster than a PK using their panther.
PKs have the highest survivability of most (all?) melee classes. Endgame self-sacrifice (ability to restore 500hp every 5seconds), self-rez while keeping all buffs, Touch of Life 75% HP restore etc. are not to be taken lightly. Good PKs can easily handle fights against 3-4 opponents without too much trouble. For a HK, after the panther is down, it's usually just game over (unless you're one of the legend HKs fighting against very common noobs :p ).
Touch of Death can take out a PK easily, IF everything goes perfect (ie: debuff lands, takes CP, and takes out 5 perfect crucial buffs). In that case it will be hard->impossible for a PK to keep up with a HKs damage output. The same can be said for alot of classes when facing a HK.
In the Olympiad, PKs can defeat any class, compared to HKs who face big disadvantages towards certain classes. This is because HKs rely a lot on their outside power source (panther), + most HKs tend to have setups such as -10 or more CON, which together with beeing almost unbuffed in the Olympiad does not make them stand very guaranteed in most fights. Touch of Death and Shield Slam (silences the opponents' use of physical skills) usually decide their win or loss, both skills relying heavily on chance to land. PKs in comparison rely more on 100% certain skills to have their victory (Aegis Stance, Angelic Icon, Touch of Life, Tribunal, Heals etc.).
For raids, I've heard and seen so many different things that I can conclude it doesn't really matter what kind of tank you use. If the raid force is able to kill the boss, any tank will be able to tank the boss. Under some circumstances a PK is able to successfully tank raid bosses without needing a party for any kind of support.
Angelic Icon is the skill that gives PKs their offensive power, while strengthening their defense even more. I can't say much about this skill, other than the fact that all of it's effects are convenient for PKs to use, in all ways.
In the end all tanks have their charm. PKs are near-immortal in their defense, HKs are devastating in their offense, STs are one of the most "fun" tanks to play, and ET players seem to love their class even though 90% of the world says they suck :p
No, you can't "lock" someone onto you with hate. You CAN make them target you, and depending on their player skill, they will either keep attacking you, or they will simply press ESC 2 times and go back to your panther.
Go Pally and lvl up a wolf pet. In CT1 you will have something similar to the panther (with the ability to heal it) and have all of the defensive / offensive abilities of a pally. Just take a look at angelic icon ( http://l2p.bravehost.com/buffs.html ).

I will personally kill any Paladin who goes out to pvp with a pet wolf. Call it high treason, and I'm the King.

Have you seen the wolf pet stats? My point wasnt to say that they "should" pvp with a wolf pet but that the kitty isnt so special any more. Honestly, the kitty is the ONLY thing that gives a DA any sort of advantage. In any other comparison between Pally and DA, the Pally comes out on top.

The pet wolf can come with frenzy for all I care, it's still a disgrace for any Paladin to lower himself to this lvl.
i dont pvp with my wolf but i dang sure lvl with one since lvl 30 my wolf has accompanied me out every time it augments my lack of dd to the point where i could solo full rooms in heratics/branded/apostate without buffs. The pallys strengths is the heals but i never needed to heal my wolf i just kept a steady supply of bsor for pets available with the aa i got as drops and IF my wolf got aggro i simply attempted to pull it off him with attacks saving my mp for healing myself. If i couldnt, a quick rez and im back in the fight. I dont see it as a disgrace, i love my wolf and have a bond just as strong as the da has with his panther :P only a disgrace to being a paladin if you shirk your duties as a pally and cause the death of your party trying to save said wolf.
Good story Xentheous, players like you are awesome :)
I was focusing more on the pvp part when I wrote my posts... but I agree for some Paladins struggling in pve without buffs and stuff it's a really good help and you should definitely take it.
But for Gods sake (We have a God, just read Angelic Icon's description!) when you meet a DA talking bad about you for beeing with the wolf, make sure you unsummon it and THEN kick his [censored] ;)
