We're at the end of Interlude, and I've barely seen any of new Interlude weapons.

It got me to thinking...
What equipment, if any, will accompany our toons if we opt to transfer servers?
My guess is it will be something like the old Terminator movies...we'll explode onto the scene in a burst of energy, completely naked. Maybe they'll give us a shadow tokens, maybe they won't.
But my hope is that we'll be able to take an item and a percentage of our gross worth with us. Why? Simple. I want to plunder other servers for exotic goods!
Say for example, if there were no Shiyeed Bows on my native server, but plenty of said bows on another server. I'd love to be able to hop over to the other server, get what I needed, and return.
Possibly upset the balance of server power? Sure.
Lead to economic upheaval across all of the servers? Probably.
But let's accentuate the positive for a change. Doom and gloom is no fun. :D
Read some of the other threads. You won't go nekkid (or as Alyra said "birthday suit"). You will transfer with your equipment, it's a one-time thing (no transfer back).
Meaning the same character can't transfer back? That's fine. I was planning on rolling a lowbie on each server...to not only patrol the markets, but to be the mules, or "packrats" as I like to call them. After he has completed his task, delete that mule and roll another.
But if you can only transfer one time per server or something like that, then I guess I better plan accordingly. This still might work out.

As you even qouted, Alyra said you wont go NAKED. She didnt say exactly what you *WOULD* go with however.
Dont go assuming things just yet until we know for **** sure what it is :P (For example, Shadow Weapon/Armor tokens would not be considered Naked... neither would a newby dagger/tunic. Neither would a full set of equipment based upon level.. etc)
Hopefully thats still an assumption and a wrong one at that. Would really suck if it was like that and NCSoft would be shooting themselves in the foot if they did it like this, because that would just mean less money for them and more disgruntled players.

The Korean patch notes says it is a one time transfer so I guess it will be the same for us and I think that is a very good thing because no one will be able to jump back and forth the servers to buy and sell stuff.
Also I think it's a onetime thing per account, not per server or character.

Therefor the system has to be somewhat diffrent.

she is a human, not a bot, and not the be-all-end-all power driving CT1 to PTS. she is a mid-tier staff officer that relays information. so if the source changes, the relay changes.
She's also fairly new, and has yet to be fully indoctrinated to how far NCS can go to really screw people... I mean, the VR and Frenzy nerfs are just the tip of the ice-berg.
To a rational human being, offering a one-time-only transfer to a new server with none of your stuff and a fraction of your wealth would seem irrational... sadistic... inhumane... brutal, even. However, that is par for the course and SOP for NC-Soft!

That would be pretty lame, who cares if someone spends lots of money to NCSoft to move items back and forth...at worst it will simply equal out the markets better.
So great, you want to play with your friends on another server, you transfer over, something goes wrong, people start splitting, most of that clan moves to another server...you're now stuck on a strange server with noone you know.
I definetly will not use the character transfer system once it comes into effect, as opposed to before where I might actually use it several times.
After checking out Giran on some of the other servers, I'm now completely depressed.
On one server I saw no less than 3 Shiyeed bows for sale...and all selling for much cheaper than a +6 Carnage bow, a +5 SOM or a +5 SoulBow sells for on my main's server. If there is a single Shiyeed on my main's server, I've yet to see it.
I saw a +10 Bloody Orchid for sale on those other servers too. 300M is all they were asking. A +11 bloody orchid on my main's server is selling for over 1 Billion adena right now. At least that's the seller's asking price.
And +16 A grade duals are on sale on another server. I didn't bother to ask how much, but it's just the fact that it's out there, available for someone to buy. There's nothing like that in my main's market.
Boss jewels seemed to be the only thing that were consistently priced and available across all servers. Figures.
Thats kinda what the majority of people on Bartz/Teon/Franz have been trying to tell those on other servers for awhile now.
The Shiyeed is actually going down on Bartz pretty fast in price.. (its now 280-300M if you talk to the farmers, 320-350 in plain shop)as well as all the other top A weapons.

Yep, I've pretty much figured out how I'd work my "Import/ Export" business. I just hope those prices stay the same...or drop even lower...by the time CT arrives. Can't wait.
Personally, before anyone goes all doom and gloom..maybe we should wait to see what happens. I know..having a positive outlook for some people is hard..but try it once in a while..you might be surprised :)
I could be all happy happy joy joy about it, then have them assume we all just love whatever changes there are to the server transfers. Rather let them know in advance, since they've said they read and take feedback from players.
Other than that, I would hate to see a great feature we've been waiting years for get ruined to near uselessness.

While we have your attention, how many times and how frequently will we be able to transfer to ferry rare exotic items from server to server?

I don't have an answer to that question yet, but we will announce all the server transfer details before the update goes live. We have considered possible exploits and server balance issues, of course, and have planned accordingly. We want server transfers to create as little of an upset to server economies as possible, but allow those who wish to try out a different server (but don't wish to start anew) the means to do so.

If this does become a problem with the economy then maybe a cross-server auction house can be set up similar to one of NC's other MMOs. Anyway, hooray for server transfers!
Just a question about the name change. I think there are plans to include a history to it. So what happens when someone named Spartacus decides to change name to Tom? New player comes and makes Spartacus and changes name to Bob. Another new players comes and makes Spartacus and changes name to Harry. Name we all have Tom, Bob, and Harry who were all once called Spartacus. Will the real Spartacus please stand up?
I was under the impression that once one account has made a character with a particular name, the name is reserved from ever being used by another account. So there's only one spartacus per server, if that's the way it works.
I've read nothing by NC people that there's any indication that a person changed names, or what their names have been.

Off topic...but that was my understanding, too. The old name is no longer available for anyone to use.
