Anyone else feel a certain sense of "desperate" in the way they implemented it? Company wtkeep customers? lol...
/agree
Nothing says "I suck" more than releasing something called "**Veteran's** Rewards" when your game isn't even out in stores yet.
If they were just trying to give the beta players something extra or generate a little hype, then they should have called it some thing else. Maybe like...oh I don't know..."Beta Rewards"? Or maybe "Advanced Marine Training"?
Labelling it "Veteran's" puts a very negative slant on it, when the game is barely at the release point. You wait until at *least* a year passes before you slap a 'veterans' tag on anything like this.
Almost needless to say, I tried it and didn't like it. So beyond the word connotations, hearing this makes me think my perception of the game is far more common than what I originally thought. (aka boring.)
Tabula Rasa is already out? I thought it's still in some form of Beta.
The 'Beta' I tried, and I have to use that term very lightly, was just a couple of weeks ago, and I thought then that it was 'gold' and just a matter of weeks before it hit stores.
So if it's not in stores quite yet, it should be very soon. (assuming any stores stock it, instead of yet another copy of WOW.)
The game ships October 30th, and has been in beta quite a while, and for a month to any one that pre-ordered.
I won't say it sucks, because it doesn't. I did cancel my pre-order, because it feels like it needs some time. The essential makings of an awesome Sci Fi MMO are there, but like most MMO's, it is being released before it's time. I'm not making that mistake again.
I'll keep my eye on it, and won't be surprised if I join that game in 3 months, or so. All depends on what they do, and what I hear from the subscribers.
As far as Vet Awards in L2. I'd be happy with a /gives finger (emote), , so I can have some mild satisfaction when I pass by the botters =)
