Does INT affect Spoil rates?

Dwarf Classes Started Last reply 33 posts
I was wondering if lowering/raising INT would affect Spoil land rates, or if it had any importance to dwarves at all?

Like if I got a +4 int -4 wit dye, would Spoil activate on monsters more often?
prolly not
It's NOT a Magic Skill, it's an Active Skill. So INT will do Nothing for Active Skills. Sure it says "Imbues a monster with Magic" but its not magic.

Quick way to check, if you have to get a book to learn the skill, its magic.
Maybe it is just coincidence ... but if I have empower on ... my spoil lands about twice as often... I dont know for sure if it "does" or "does not" per the other game data but experience for me says that it does.

I actually may do just that (+4Int,-4Wit), never thought of it before.
Yep, if you dont need a book for the skill emp/int wont help. Atleast thats for the morepart true as in this case. Int or Empowerment of any level wont gelp you, nor acumen. Some people believe so but that is just pure superstition, nothing else
No, it won't help.
I never had a better spoil rate with empower. And I play often without or with (depend if OL I m in party with buff emp or not)
Spoil is no Magic

Proof ->
Get silenced by a mage -> u can still use Spoil but cant use Magic /sarcasm
Get physical silenced -> u cant use Spoil

So if u think Empower works with Spoil u should get Wildmagic too, maybe u get a critical Spoil and earn 3 more Stems!

Another thing... What does increase the speed to cast Spoil?
.... ... .
Right -> Its Haste and not Acumen (Kids, plz try this at Home!)

So Basicly ->
Spoil = "physical Earth Type Attack" (atleast after u enchanted it)
still doesn't prove mattack doesn't help lol
odds are spoil land rate is not effected by anything but skill lvl/player lvl vs mob lvl
If someone was having a lucky day with enchants they could quite easily claim that the Lucky Charms they had for breakfast helped them get their +16 Art of Battle Axe. Unless there is a vigorous series of testing over a large period of time there is no way to prove this to be true or otherwise (unless of course NC decide to intervene and tell us the truth... who sees that happening?).

Every thing show us spoil is a physical skill so no reason m atk should help. And may be for you it s not enough but after "hours and hours" hunting the same mobs "with and without" empower I can tell you there is no difference in spoil rate.
But if people want to try +INT tatou .. well as they want.
wouldnt Dex work better? .. or maybe the focus buff? i doubt it seriously, but i have never seen empower help my spoil rate either. and also it would figure that if int affected your spoil, so would wit (increasing your spoil's casting time) and if you gonna get a mage tat for your BH, might as well get +Men so you can spoil more.
Oh, I believe 100% that nothing can change your spoil rate except the following.

- Your level V's that of the NPC
- Your level of spoil V's that of the NPC
- Your level AND your level of spoil V's that of the NPC

You get the jist.
I dont mean to push .. but I never indicated that spoil was a magic skill. My post simply stated that while having empower on my spoil appears to land more often...

I am a 6x dorf and have leveled with a Bishop. LONG leveling .. LOTS of fighting same mobs for hours and hours and hours ... and I can say that MY experience (which may not be indicative of the class) is that empower does help.

I am in no way saying that spoil is a magic skill but simply put that after playing in the same spot for hours and hours, then receiving empower, the spoil rate APPEARS to increase. I have no statistics on this and do not claim that it will work for everyone who tries, all I am saying is that I see a noticable change in spoil rates.

Funny thing .. last night I was fighting and actually noticed when Empower wore off, because spoil rate dropped and I was actually confused why until I noticed... Its one thing to "think" that it helps .. but to notice when you are hindered resulting from a lack of the skill... If you do not have a BH or have not tried it please feel free to flame me but if there is anyone else out there who has tried it (significant hours plz) please let me know what your experience is ... maybe I am just smoking something... :D
You lvl with a Bishop... so where does the emp come from? :P OOP SE or scrolls?
I'm willing to give it a try for you man, but I can assure you that it's good old mother luck. I'll report my findings :)
nope on INT

I believe empower increases the spoil rate and good stuff spoil rate. I also believe that wild magic increases spoil crits. which is when you spoil more than one item. but its prolly just superstition. what can i say, i'm happier with emp and wild magic. don't you go and shatter my dreams.

People like this also believe in god and do crazy rituals before overenchanting stuff.

PS. My TH sub lands more stabs with empower. WM increases my chance for lethal strikes. NC mus have forgotten to put this in the patch notes.

Empower and WildMagic are for magical skills...Spoil is a physical skill so I strongly doubt that it affects it...same for INT

share it, my friend :D

empower doesn't help for spoil drop, neither for spoil rate. it's an urban legend, like, remember, at prelude/C1 (even C2) when ppl said "don't spoil, it is dropping normal drop rate !!"... just lol.
what can I say. I like emp and wild magic. only a moron would say, don't spoil. and how about the next guy who says I believe in god, that i punch him in the mouth. I'm not that primitive.

I know they don't work. but i like the color green too.

Empower gives you a Blue glow so that you spoil better I know I tryed it it works! Even my WS can spoil now O.o

Silence gives you a nice blue ring over your head. Maybe you will spoil better with that :p
umm... if i remember right emp did help with spoil rates untill like mid C2 (as a high level WS i spoiled better then lowbie BHs back then). after that i have never seen any difference on chance to land spoil with or without emp.

so int shouldnt affect it either.
o.O wth? lvl 80 maestro with 2 subs? you have earned respect, heh

o.O wth? lvl 80 maestro with 2 subs? you have earned respect, heh

i leveld my maestro 78->80 fairly fast, AoE ftw just wish i had really discovered how good it was before that. funny thing is i originally got my polearm to do be able to use wrath and the other spear skills in olymp for DD output.

actually a WS with WC buffs can solo fairly well with his golem. will be expensive though :( actually i belive you will be one of the fastest meele solo chars out there. (with those few buffs atleast)
yeah golem spamming WS is one of the highest DPS melee classes there is (especially at 77+)
it's expensive as hell and earns you less xp than other classes due to the xp penalty though

Yeah I spotted that, I have a new hero to look up to ;)

hmm, whats so special at 77+? i cant think of any skill that we get that really helps at 77+.

oh and Rosalina, i might endup on Teon ;) i hope i can transfer to a EU timezone server so i can do olymp/sieges at normal times.

If you do, send me a pm on the forum and ill friendinvite you ;)
at 77 we get armor crush and since i know you mainly pole i'm sure you never learned to appreciate it
it's like a hex + damage + stun with a chance to crit and since it costs 350 hp and 35 mp you can spam the crap out of it and never run out of MP
destros and WLs also get the skill but since they have alot of other skills to choose from you won't see them use it much.......
well destro uses it to lower hp for frenzy and WL uses it for pvp i guess :/

anyway it might actually be a gimp skill but since we are talking about dorfs it starts to look really good
hmm, as far as i can remember armor crush land rate is terrible.
might be better for me now with the changes to bossjewelry. (have a zaken)

oh and also, i hated the fact that the effect was lost as soon as the stun stoped, if the effect would have stayed after stun disapeared it would have been nice.
yeah land rate is crap (lower than +1 hammer crush) and the second stun breaks you lose the hex effect
but remember its a dorf skill so pretty **** awesome imo
