I probably won't move, as seems to be the popular opinion in my alliance; who contains most of the people I know in Lineage (hence I would stay with them).
If they weren't in the picture, I would still have a lot of contacts in Devianne to stay, and no reason to retreat. But if they weren't in the picture either then I would probably move to Lionna, which is the second top place that I know people at.
Most of the people I knew have left, or are leaving....I'm too fond of the way the game used to be and the people I used to know before I was dumb and rerolled in c1...so, I'm moving. No loss to Dev though :)
But you find that on every server. So leaving a server for those reasons doesnt make sense really. I'd only leave if all my friends or clan left, I know the battle with the cheaters will never be won anyways.
Bots aren't starting to own castles. The true farmer businesses themselves don't have political power on Devianne at least, although they did in the past.
The clans are being infected with illegitimate activities instead, which is not the same thing

Honestly... I don't know which thing is worse.. Botters or eBayers... IMHO.. ban them all.. and their Credit Cards/emails as well.
Funnly enough, be it botting or ebaying I keep seeing toons which are literally Raid Bosses, I've seen a SwS from a specific alliance on last weekend's siege literally running striaght through like 8 enemies all hitting him, and him just spamming CP pots and running right through them, ignoring their hits. I was simply wondering how much ebay he might have done to get that ++ on his equip
**** it.... and we still have the Ebayers... i forgot about them! People that dont know how to play, are noob and than use some resources in real life (MONEY) to be better than fair players like lots of players i know.
Man... we should kill or ban half of devianne ( ebayers and bots ). Its not fair to play with all these trickers!
It didn't really get bad with Ebayers until C3 when a certain pserver got shut down. Then Devianne was inendated with new players who went from nothing to end game with top ++ gear. It was so obvious and keeps getting worse.
I left out direct attacks but most everyone knows what happened.
Yep, and it's sad. Devianne was actually a cool server, until then...well, with it's fair share of politics and infighting, but at least that was intriguing, even for by-standers.
I wrote a macro to quickly report any bot I see, be it sell shop or grinding bot. If it's true NCSoft can ascertain the use of third-party software and ban the account then, I objectively think this will not stop botting, but at least keep them from leveling too high.
the problem is in the fact that bots and ebayers destroy the game once the "fair players" spend a long time to get their level and equipment.
After all this we can still find people in level 60+ that doesnt know whats the rift or what are blank scrolls and dimensional diamonds.
Ok... congratulations. Lineage was the best game i have ever player and now its just a boring game full of bots.
Everywhere i go i see these MTF. and i report and kill them. Cause of this if i kill 1 person in game my karma goes to 20k now.
well... happends, ill make the quest to clean the ok count.
I just want that NCSoft help us cleaning the bots and makeing of lineage a better game as it was suposed to be once.

No macro on my L2 for bot reporting. I just drop a message to GM to report these darn bots... And to be honest, I think GMs actually ban the bots. A couple that I reported in the past are gone already...
True... It takes way too long for GMs to ban the bots. Some that I reported were still on the spot after 1 to 2 weeks. After that they were gone (and I don't mean they changed spot :p)
You guys spend so much time here complaining about the bots, we all know NC isn't going to do anything about them so why bother reporting it.
Not, like we can really force NC to do something, people crying and [censored] about this sort of thing should play their game and not worry with the cheaters or ebayers..
Eventually the ebayers and botters get burned but only when NC feels like burnign them =D
I see complaining and reporting as two different things.
Complaining can be productive; but shouldn't go over the edge. I'm definitely NOT going to tell people not to keep that as a main player issue. As it is now, NCsoft has no excuse to realize that it IS the issue that players are concerned about; and yet they've constantly walked around good answers to the dilemma when asked by fansites what they're going to do about these bots.
Reporting is the system THEY made for it. You're right that they'll probably only do it, "when they feel like it". I'd say that's more true than, "they never deal with it." Because I have a memory of several incidents that entire alliances got wiped out thanks to our glorious benefactors :P
Either way, the argument that it's no used is still one that's taken on the path to the dark side; I advise being careful with it! It's the defense of many cheaters

I used to play on Erica which is why I'm as negative about it as I am ^^. I haven't seen many cheaters botters on dev then again I'm low lvl so i'm not sure if they're in the higher areas or not.
So I hope that no one thinks I'm defending the cheaters by no means, I remembe reporting this one group everyday for a month and nothing ever came of it AFAIK it's still in that same area farming seal stones etc.
Oh they're out there; I don't know how faded the grass is on Erica, but we do indeed have the sense here that it's bad. Most clans are sos big now that truly none keep out the cheaters... and of course the ever present bot problem...
I understand the pessimism after 4 years of few results
Its a dead horse. It so obvious whats going on when any of us can tell bot groups from normal groups, and no they are not people 6 boxing in cats. It so blatant now you can tell the diference in the groups. You know who is grinding for AA and who is Plvling. Specially when you come back to town and the same toons are commiting suicide with the guards.
I have been playing this game since C2 wasn't to bad back then. Atleast when you did report them you got a live GM back then. It has gotten worse since and nothing has stopped the blatant RMt in L2. I know for a fact knowone who actually plays thier toon can collect 35million AA Let alone 20 of them setting around giran like its easy to get.
Ok enough venting everyone has witnesses the progression and changes in this game as it has evolved. If you have and dont realise who NcSoft is catering to then you might as well move along, because it definatly isn't any of us.

Well put which is why I said we shouldn't worry about it and just play our game, eventually when NC is ready they'll handle it. But it has to be on their own terms much like when that priv server got shut down it was on their terms no one elses.

Faded i'd say it's pretty **** dead lol... least it was the last time I played over there at the end of C4.
I dont think a petition would work. Although the idea is good. What happens when some player gets PK'd and petitions that the PK'r uses bots. It would be Salem all over again.
When doing research about Google and Youtube for a seminar I found out there's an "opt-out" policy in US jurisdiction, meaning e.g. youtube only has to remove copyright infringing material upon complaint, not in advance. I was very surprised by this, as it means they only have to stick to the law if someone accuses the content.
Could it be we have something similar here, where NCSoft does not scan all accounts for third-party programs but only those that get reported by players?
