I don't know about other servers but on Hinde there are bot groups poling in Necro of Devotion (maybe other necro/cats).
They have the party parked in a corner and the poler (on auto pilot) runs into a room, uses hate aura or provoke and returns to the corner.
The one thing about it is you can take a room from them very easily. We have moved into a room and just started killing the mobs as they spawn, watching the poler run in and hate an empty room and run back and stand in the corner :)
the top alliances on my server have it botted, too
I dunno much about programming bots, but it seems like a really hard task to write - the task with live players is tricky. If a heal or buff comes too soon, bad things happen. If you get positioning off a bit, bad things happen. Admittedly mmogs are the simplest of games, but still that's impressive AI.
They are doing it in worshipers on hinde as well.. very easy to solve train a ton of stun mobs in the room the hate aura guy runs for he hates um all and over trains his crew. its fun to watch um die spamming heals.
easy to deal with them.
1) train them with stunner
2) if they use aoe skill, aura hate or spoil festival, flag them and they will flag back => free pvp on tank, bh, bd, sws, healer.
3) stun the DD
4) OL can use Seal of Mirage

That's all well and good, but there go any hopes you had of remaining politically neutral. And here comes a group of angry heroes to pwn your butt. :p
They won't flag if they don't use any skills, even if you stand in their arc. Aoe hate will do the trick at least for the puller. Provoke lands on purplies and makes me flag even though it has no function whatsoever in pvp.
The hate aura flags them and like you say, free pvp. Although, as much as I hate bots, pvping with them always seems to have the same outcome, the bots end up right back where they were. So, while the farmer isn't paying attention, we xp and the bots gain nothing, IMO, that hurts them more then killing them.
well. they have a healer there, right?
just kill the poler and leave the healer, it'll res(most bots do)
and you're set up for more pvp's
could potentially "farm" a lot of pvp's before the farmer becomes aware.
It s not about farming pvp point, it s about getting an xp spot imo.
Most of the time I don't hav eany problem getting the spot I want from bots/farmers. Usually they get borred fast after some death and ask for how much time I need the spot.
Bots been poling for ages, its not a new thing. I noticed it like 4 months ago on bartz.
I've seen mage groups going for ever.
I've seen bots use SS often. Hell now a days most bots use SS in their inventory so if they get trained they pop on SS, and kill faster then most none botted trains. :(

Hey tarun atleast thats an agressive type skill. My poor EE has been dropped a few times cause she uses serenade of eva to remove mob agro near a purple/red. :(

Last time I went to Dark Omens, there was a WL with an automatic path etc. But after a few times he came in our room and didn't bring back any mob because we were killing them, two high-level nukers came and wipe us.
So yes follow the advices, train them, stun them, heal the mobs etc. Riiight. And get killed by the botmaster. You'd be surprised how they are efficient when you touch their real life business.

Just remember, this is problem that has solutions in the game. We just need to play 24/7 with multiple accounts and then we might actually be able to out level and out gear them in the hopes of not getting rolled by their enforcer toons. :D
...Or report them since that has been effective at dissuading them from trying this kind of stuff in high traffic areas where it's painfully obvious.
...Or just ask everyone on the server really, really nicely to not partake of their services or buy their wares.
I look forward to the day when both the players and NCSoft throw up their hands and say that anything is pretty much a better state than what is taking place. Ban first, ask questions later. Eight toons on AF after one spolier for thirty-six straight hours? I am sure that someone would step up and lay out some fantastical Devil's Advocate position as to how that's legit...but it wasn't in 2004 and it isn't now.
If the player base demands it, and is understanding of the draconian measures that are needed then we might see progress. There are too many and they care about their "business" far more than any casual player could possibly dedicate in terms of time and energy when it comes to trying to stop them.
I seen these groups several months back in Devotion. Quite interesting to say the least. Not sure if this was mentioned but sometimes you can get them to flag on you and then you can kill their entire group. Flag on them before they do mass spoil and sometimes the BH will flag. Timing is everying and sometimes does not work...
This thread has been constructive; that's why we've let it continue. Also please report those you suspect of EULA-breaking behavior. ;)
:( it never helps, once i was accused in the game reply message of not respecting other cultures because i reported a bot. strangely enough this seemed like an automated response from the server. its a good thing it only took the server 5 hours to respond to me in that fashion.

This is what i love about being noble. I never am without my noble blessing and could care less if anyone comes to pk me. I run a EE on my 2nd comp. You can see um coming let um pk u toss a trance on the red rez myself asap since im already in frenzy if i have mobs on me and 1 shot um. +++ full drops.

This has happened on Hinde too.........and just this weekend, we had an enforcer actually try to TRAIN US a few times for a room we had and he wanted. Unbelievable.
The bots had EVERY SINGLE MEDUSA room in Apostate on Sunday, except this one we were in. Guess they wanted that too.

The basic definition of this is that botting players who legitemately use OOP pets can't bot as fast as "illegitimate" bots!!! OMG WHY?!?!!?! Alyra!?!?
