Mobs to solve all problems

I don't know about the rest of you, but i am growing tired.

Tired of the things we can't talk about...
Tired of the mindless grinding we have to endure....
And tired of being so poor in the game i don't have a pot to [923] in.

Why can't the mob spawn points be raised to a level that it should be at?

I look forwards to a NC answer
what do you mean? you want more mobs?

and FYI splatter, as a tyrant, youll always have trouble breaking even by grinding for exp.

try a few weeks of shop-mode and cool off.
I want so many mobs you couldn't even throw a dwarf without hitting one.

And i'm never grinding for exp.... If i was would it have taken me 3 years to hit 40 :)
I remember a time when there were more mobs around. Now, nice open, peaceful fields where characters can frolic without worry of a hidden beast pouncing upon them from the high grass. Disgusting.

:p

That was in Prelude
Bigger world = mobs thinned out.
RAM and AI needed for Cats/Necros = Mobs thinned out.

Bigger world = mobs thinned out.

So when the world fully reaches it's finished state at the last client release....We will have one mob per section :)

I want blood, be it mobs or my own.

But this Orc'z wants blood
Was there not a upgrade once made to the hardware to accommodate the higher stress on the servers?

I for one miss the mobs in the fields for sure. The world has become an almost endless open plain with structures here and there.

Like some already mentioned the cata/necro and new area's make the current mobs servers plainly not up to the task of generating mobs in what I would call believable quantities.

I think we just have to live with this as I somehow doubt that upgrades are in the future in the form of better servers.
Bah, bad deleting Splatter!

Anyways, change servers perhaps?
Being Thinkaboutitmuch deleted his/her post.... I only thought it was right to also remove my reply to his/her's.
I don't mind grinding until my eyes bleed, but let's at least make it worth our while. More mobs, faster respawns, more aggro/social, and increase the aggro range for all of the mobs in the Forsaken Plains area by a factor of 10. When I port into Silent Valley or FP 'port site, I want to be greeted by Tigers and Drakes.

Let's turn the table of PVE upside down and let the mobs be the predators for a change. You shouldn't have to hunt them, they should come after you. Create a dynamic mob that roams around areas looking for some action. They aren't blind. I'm sure from a distance they see the exploding corona of shots being used on one of their brethren. Program them to follow the death cries and seek revenge!
I removed my entry as it was a rant and I am not supposed to troll these boards. However what I wrote was my view of the current situation.

You can almost achieve this by just going up and hitting a raid boss once. Believe me, he will chase you!
there are a few aggro raid bosses, one normal one near shuttgart and all the epic bosses. the exception that the epics are only aggro within a certain interior range.
Used to be my favorite lil exp spot south of Gludio...lil valley, filled with zombies, big ratmen, skeletons and skeleton archers. Freaking everyone went there, it was amazing.

Then, one fine "update" they took them away. Like, not down the road a mile, or just to the north....I mean far, FAR away. Like gone completely. Just like that.

I just "love" to go for a nice run through an EMPTY field. All that lush vegetation and amazing rocks on the ground. Smooth move NC. I agree with Splatter here...I want my mobs back! OPEN THE FLOODGATES AND LET THE MOBS FLOW FORTH.

Yeah, go have a nice chat with Dr. Chaos. See what happens. :D

you can blockwindwalk and slow some of them and kite them out of their assigned area where they will stop chasing and just sit there lookin pretty.
**** i was just about to make this post
anyone get the feeling that NC thinks 99% of players are either NG or high S grade with full stacked parties?

the spawns between 40 and 70 are lame
You know Splatter, this is what I missed from your interview (http://l2vault.ign.com/View.php?view=Features.Detail&id=132); a discussion of your transition from Defender of all things NCsoft to sounding like the rest of us disgruntled customers. I'd really love to read about that journey. I can't believe the interviewer didn't think of such an obvious topic.

I loved that place, too.

There are places still with lots of mobs and/or fast spawn rate. And truthfully, despite sharing the feeling that they've emptied the 20-70 areas, I find places where I rarely see other players.

yeah that was a good place back in C1 when there was a ton of new players. You could always find PvP.

The problem is NCsoft don't want us to lvl fast. They want it to be slow lvl curve. There has been a ton of nerfs in the game that slow and continue to slow our grinding.

To name a few: Mobs you can pole, limited by pole skill lvl, 20 for second class, 10 for 1st class, Mage nerf on poles/bows.

ABG nerfs. Up coming VR nerf. Mobs slowed on respawn in frozen lab. WS nerf with summon. Constant epic RB changes.

Mobs thinned out in fields. Countless new lvl zones.

what NCsoft needs to do, is make cata's rooms smaller, increase spawn rate. make fields, specially starter towns smaller: decreasing the mass of say DE, orc, dwarf towns would save alot of useless zones thats underused. Heine is another underused zone.

NCsoft in the last 6 up dates have still done nothing to solve zone lag. GoE, giran, many many places.

There is a reason that people still do DVC pytan parties, cause they have a insanely fast spawn rate which makes for fast lvling, Same for Bridge parties.

NCsoft should ether fix the grind curve or just end the game all together! Cause the way they are doing things now is just really bad!!

First off, leveling is much faster now than it has ever been.
Try playing from when the game began.. much slower leveling then

It is way easier now...

Secondly, there is no lag in giran, goe, etc...

It is your computer that causes the lag, those of us with good PCs don't experience that lag.

/thanks and come again
mswari is correct, the changes to the game have substantially quickened levelling, not slowed it. For example, there was a 20% boost to all mob exp in non-dungeons, there are newbie buffs galore, there are protections from PKers killing lower players, there are guards all around the starter towns to discourage PKers.

Back in the 'old days' I remember seeing several reds waiting outside TI village for people to come out. We would have to form groups and fight our way through the reds to the fields to hunt mobs, and then defend ourselves from time to time while there. It was not unusual to end an evening of hunting lower than when you started because of deaths from reds.

Not to mention that now everyone has good gear and sets of armor. When lvl 25s were routinely in ng still, anyone who had a full set of D grade was pretty darn uber.

Its easy now, not hard.

Which one near Shuttgart???

I always assumed raid bosses were not aggro.

thanx,

I'd really love to read about that journey

It started about a year ago....And just has been slowly eroding ever since. Just these past months my Orc in-game has made up his mind and needed to have a talk with me.

Rum i so right. Leveling now is much better than it used to be. I think the frustrated people are just not exploring the lands. All the way up to lvl 71, where I am now, I have never had trouble finding a place to level that made me think the mob density was too low/slow.
How can you say it's easier? The monster spawn points have been greatly reduced.

How can you say it's easier? The monster spawn points have been greatly reduced.

It's easier cuz you can go without resting even without partying a healer/recharger.

It's easier cuz you get a lot more xp per kill than you used to.

It's easier cuz if you move around you can find places with plentiful spawn points with fast refresh.
Herbs don't count.....

Faster XP is a bad thing it means lesser SP and Adena.

And i disagree, Monster spawns have been reduced. I have traveled the world and it is barren

According to the patch notes from i believe c3, the monsters spawn rate was increased, while reducing the total area that mobs will spawn, thus creating a situation where the player doesn't have to run so far to to find such mobs. So, to sum it up, yes there are fewer areas where mobs are spawning, however they are spawning faster than they used to.
I looked at the notes.....If they are spawning faster it's by 0.01 seconds.

To increase the efficiency of hunting as a small party or when alone, the wide distribution of monsters in the entire hunting field was changed to a more concentrated arrangement and monster appearance time was adjusted. Due to this change, the total number of monsters was reduced.

I agree they've been reduced. A lot.
But I find there ARE places with good density of mobs and fast respawns.

On my main, I'm currently workin a place about the size of my living room with herbs, decent drops, and a spawn rate fast enough I can't pause.
My son's 50ish poler has a place he runs 30 yds and has a big enough pile of mobs I can't even see him until the dust settles and he's either picking up piles of loot or asking for a rez.
Our low cg nuker has a place he hardly walks at all killing the spawns around him (loot sucks there, tho)
Dg: there are good field places for all of dg, altho it's really hard to beat poling the d-grade dungeons 4% per pull.
NG places still seem to require a lot of running or waiting unless you bring a healer/recharger and go to SODA or some place like that..

There are a lot of places where spawns are sparse and slow. I've hunted them (either cuz I remembered them being good places in the past, or cuz I want a particular drop) and been frustrated. But ask around, check around, be flexible where you wanna hunt and you can find good spots.
