Sounds great that they gave ebayers the option to buy an acct on one server ,then they get allowed to change that toons name and transfer thier ebayed 70+ toon from 1 server to the next.
so all i want to say is thanks for forgetting about us 1 acct non ebayed players who can't afford any gear cuz of the server prices . Heres an idea fix the drop rates that would help the average player since your helping ebayer's and botters with the server transfers.
The pros and cons of this have been discused many, many times on these forums, it's comming so people had better get used to it. Yes of course people will abuse it, but plenty of others have a genuine desire for this service.
The I assume developers have done their best to prevent abuse, but people being what they are will always find a way to abuse anything.
Yes they are. Making money in this game takes either, work, time or luck. Now tell me, cant poor players work for adena like the rest of us? Dont they have as many hours in their day as we do?
I hate to say it but I'm with _Charmille_ on this one. There are plenty of ways to make adena in this game that are within the ELUA, it just takes work and a little creativity. ;)
Hopefully there will be some additional scrutiny applied to those who transfer, to make sure they have the same owner as original. So many of the "top players" on Sieg, when you mention their name, someone asks you mean the 2nd owner or the current one? :p
The OP's first point is well-taken. Transfers and identity-wash serve those with something to hide.
As far as the economy, this game has long been ebay-based. Whether you ebay or just play the market the way you're supposed to, you're getting farmer adena. I came home from work to find my dwarf had sold off the whole store, selling items that aren't that hard to get at outrageously high prices. Any honest player would have put in the time (2 or 3 buff rounds) to farm it themselves. I'm happy to take their millions, but I have no false illusion that it's not tainted money. But WTH, I got a long way to go to afford Ag yet.
(and I'm still jealous as heck about Vina's curse :))
Well, then we have pretty different idea on what working means.
Let me think: working takes place at some place (in my case an office), takes you about 12 to 14 jours a day, you get paid for it each month, it allows you about 20/25 vacation days a year. Am I wrong?
Casual players who play maybe an hour a day or less do not have the time to farm adena. Doesn't mean they're lazy or can't be bothered to earn it. Someone who gets the chance to play for an hour a day, for example, won't be able to spend much time playing the market and their "playing hours" may be well out of reach of the manor, so they can't use that either.
Poorer players tend to be those who play less often. The more you play, the richer you can get.

You can get 20-25 days of vacation in L2 as well. Just petition it at least 2 weeks before if it's few days and 4 weeks ahead if it's more than one week. Then wait for GM (Gaming Manager) to get it approved.

I'm sure there is a point with that, but i don't get it. someone mind explaining?(if you get it)
could be an ironic post or genuine. but i can't tell :/

Thats a job, there is a difference. Work is putting forth effort for a desired result. People reffer to a job as work because you are required to put forth effort to receive a paycheck(at least some of us are required)
In this case, you must put forth effort to get adena.
Thank you Gecklar. And if you're a casual player logging for 30mins per day, you're not really putting in that much effort, hence you're not really working hence why you are poor.
You chose to play this game, sorry if it is not meant for casual players.
is funny to see long time player forget how hard this game is when you don't have noting or the time to play 6hr every day..just funny.
Thinking back on your 1st week in this game..and you will know what he talking about......get over your self and understand not everyone got top friends and top clan to help them..some players need to work so hard to just get a boot for a set of armor and wait 4 week to get the gloves.
So plz get over your self...is not a players game is a full time job to play this game....
Well, I am not incredibly rich, but I have worked extremely hard for what I have. With quest and farming drops and mats and manor it took me almost 6 months to finally finish my A grade armor(and another 3 to finish the helm 2 more times when the craft finally worked). I don't forget how hard it was. I even have a slot on my account that I purpously start a toon toon and lvl to 40 without twinking or gifts from my other toons, so I realize EXACTLY how hard it is to lvl with nothing. Truth be told with shadow coupons and newbie shot quests it is about 100x easier than when I started in Open Beta....but thats another story.
I would consider myself in the middle class as far as richeness goes in this game and I certainly dont devote full-time job hours to playing this game. I play 2 hours at a stretch sometimes at night, but not 6 a day.

my 2c-sorry
You dont need friends or clan to make money in this game. If you think that you do, you've already failed the economical side of L2.
Wanna know a funny story? A clanny rolled a BH, went from 1 to 40 manoring and spoiling, generating over 30mil from manor alone and I'd vager another 10 to 15mil on spoils. Hard? No. Time consuming? If you're gonna lvl, better do it the smart way. And that income is by selling the mats to me at lower than the market price. All it took was reading one manor guide and checking some good spoiling areas.
And dont even start about the new toon thing, people these days have it 100x easier than we did.
I'd like to chime in and mention something that I've mentioned in a few other threads where folks were voicing server-transfer concerns.
We have considered possible exploits and server balance issues, of course, and have planned accordingly. One example is name changes. We do plan to implement a system that will allow the community to see what a player's name was, and what it was changed to. I don't have the details yet on exactly how this will work, but we do believe it's very important to have this kind of system in place to help prevent possible name-change exploits.
We want server transfers to create as little of an upset to server economies as possible, but allow those who wish to try out a different server (but don't wish to start anew) the means to do so.
As soon as we have more details (how the services will work, how much they cost, etc.), we'll be making a news announcement about the upcoming account services.
I agree with most people on this post that making money now vs C1/C2 is 10000x easier - the quests, manoring (if you can turn in the fruits that is), finding fields of adena, joining a clan that is ok with casual play, or Spellbooks just lying around.
But no matter how hard NCSoft tries to think of a way for someone to exploit server transfers - someone will figure out a way around it.
Alrya - and I love the idea of being able to see what the name of the toon was before - would be nice to know if the level 77 Cardnial requesting to join your clan old name looked like it was created by droping the keyboard on the ground.
As I said, I roll a toon out from 1 -40 every few months just to do it, with no help from other toons and no twinking or help from friends. I can get full c grade bought and paid for by the time I hit 36 quite easily. I usually wind up with a couple mil extra to be honest. If I was to play to make money on the toon as opposed to just lvling, chances are I could almost afford b grade by the time I hit 40 as well, it just takes work.
Now tell me, cant poor players work for adena like the rest of us? Dont they have as many hours in their day as we do?
You know, some of them have what's called a "job", some others have what's called a "social life", and some even have both (yeah hard to believe i know :p)
So, yes, i know what you're gonna tell me, "then this isnt the game for them", and i'm gonna reply "then we need some relaxed servers just like in Korea where playtime per week is limited and all rates are increased" :)
If playtime didn't equal wealth, i would be a billionaire by now. You have to stick in countless hours grinding on the manor system or grinding away on quests to gain riches in this game.
And i was more then prepared to mindlessly grind away on quests to boost my riches. I gained 1.4 million in my routine of quests/level/delevel/wash and repeat. But certain aspects of the game started to build up preventing me.
If a person doesn't stick in countless hours in this game you are poor.
You all seem to forget that Charmille has a post count so large because Charmille has experience. No one else except Charmille has ever played every single class in the game to lvl 80 and thus, Charmille is ALWAYS right. Please people, LEARN YOUR PLACE, especially when it comes to Charmille. This is why she has earned the name Green Meanie... among other names.
And I add this, this is why you are poor and Charmille is not.
For me adena = luck. If it wasn't for a few key things such as certain events (*hint*piggies*hint*) or some purely lucky buy cheap sell high or pure luck on a recipe quest I would've still wondered what to do for B grade.
I'll agree that L2 is even now, very unfriendly to casual players.
To some extent it's manageable thou.. I don't like that extent.
And I'll just say this to you Pirotesa: The razor blade is calling you, it is that time of the month again. Where did your signature go btw? About all your accounts being canceled? Kinda sad that someone who has multiple accounts is accusing others that have the same of being botters and ruining the game ;) You're still here, so was the "accounts canceled" only attention *******, hmm?
@Grazzt, I have a job, social life and I'm at the uni. ****, how can I even be able to afford shots?!
@Splatter, quests are not really the way to do it, especially at your lvl. Manoring does not take that much time. You can manor the seeds during several days and then turn them all in at the same time. Hour a day fishing could easily net you over 500k, but that must be too much work too.
I've tried fishing and my land rate is 2 hit/8 miss in 10 attempts. To me fishing is a waste of adena and that said...Fishing was designed to be a Adena sink and nothing more.
And manoring takes adena to gain items. Quest grinding is not spending any Adena to gain items. At least thats my view of playing
Splatter, then you're not really putting effort into it. There's plenty of people who suggest Fishing as a ways of making money before suggesting manor, questing or playing the market.
@Pirotesa, you're starting to sound like a broken record. Seek help now. Local hospitals should know the proper authorities that can help you.
I make a lot of money off fishing actually, its quiet effective once you get the hang of it. Fishing shots are a must, but almost everything triggers the sweet fluids to get free shots. I still use my NG pole at high lvls and have no problem what so ever.
