L2 players around the world

I found this nice little service that marks where a player is from on a map. It uses the persons IP address to locate them. It gives a basic idea where they are from without going into any details.

I thought it would be a cool idea......

I made some changes and it seems to be working, at least the map is showing now. Just click the icon to record yourself and see other
L2players around the world (http://www.mmorpgcollection.com/l2player.html)

Saw your other post Splatter, so how do we updated, just by going to the URL and grabbing IP? :)

(The other you posted on Blah was a Google Map if I remember right)

I posted it here and didn't like the idea of a street level zoom..... And you just have to visit the link and click on the map icon.

I'm still looking for something better :)

I'll give it one more day before i trash the whole idea.

Other communities I know of use frappr, (http://www.frappr.com/) which works really well. But given the precision of the map locations and the general nastiness of L2 community, I wouldn't really recommend it.

I personally know atleast a few dozen Canadian's playing .. So i clicked for my dot. Won't show up yet I imagine. (I'd guesstimate there's got to be a few thousand of us out there still) <GRIN> im also curious about Mr.Hudson Bay player. I wonder If that's Thompson Manitoba... Hmmm looks to be to far out for that..anywho, a Dot in Calgary should show up soon enough.
