We're getting closer and closer to CT1 so I was wondering when can we expect to see the official details of the announced Server Transfers and those other service changes ?
IMO the rules will be posted at the same time with the announcement of when CT1 will go live, or in the same day as CT1 actually goes live... does that make any sense? :)
First off, there is no need for hostility. There are people on these forums who post more frequently than I do so I'd appreciate it if you didn't dictate to me.
If you "search" you find that the L2 Vault actually spoke with Tim Tam from NC and this is one of the responses he gave.

Anyway, I've done some background searching and here are the official posts from Alyra. If you don't believe me, go search yourself.... (as if).
We will make an announcement once we have the details and the date ironed out. We aren't holding out on info; rather, we are working out a few last details and don't want to make any announcements until those are complete. In the meantime, we do thank you for your patience.
I don't have an answer to that question yet, but we will announce all the server transfer details before the update goes live. We have considered possible exploits and server balance issues, of course, and have planned accordingly. We want server transfers to create as little of an upset to server economies as possible, but allow those who wish to try out a different server (but don't wish to start anew) the means to do so.
Let's respect each others concerns, everyone, even if you don't agree. Yes the name-change service is coming soon, along with gender change and character server transfer. I wanted to touch on what was said in the quote above. We do plan to implement a system that will allow the community to see what a player's name was, and what it was changed to. I don't have the details yet on exactly how this will work, but we do believe it's very important to have this kind of system in place to help prevent possible name-change exploits.
As soon as I have more details (how the services will work, how much they cost, etc.), I'll be making a news announcement about the upcoming account services.

actualy drakkos the way i understand it is you need to earn the Sword of Everlasting Embers. this is obtained by addint the Stone of Embers to the sword of Ipos. except you cant add it; you first need to Crush the sword of Ipos, then recraft using the 100% recipe that is marked "Sword of Embers" (its an NC typo - should be Everlasting Embers)

If they allow transfers to Teon, Franz and Bartz, prices there will go up as people will hoard equipment to maximize profit gained from the newcomers(if you cant transfer gear) and prices on servers that will have lots of players leaving will drop significantly, since everyone will be selling their stuff. Also, you're basically stuck on your old server until you've sold your stuff, unless NCSoft implements a money transfer service too, where you could transfer the money you got from selling equipment on your alt after you transfered your main.

If you're leaving a server why would you need the adena anyway? Or the items for that matter? If they don't allow items to be moved over they're certainly not going to allow all of your adena to go either. Maybe some of it at a given exchange rate.
Alyra has already said that you won't be going naked, so I guess that rules this conversation out anyway.

Will we be able to transfer our L2 character to a COH/COV server? When?

In my case, I have a lot of gear, that happens when you start in closed beta and reroll like a nutcase. If I can only take the gear that my transfering toon would wear, I have quite a bit I want to sell since I dont ever plan on playing on the server I am leaving again. Thus I would then be able to take my 'wealth' with me.
One thing I am going to be VERY upset about not being able to move is my Chronos. I have more than one of almost all of them...I want to be able to take them with me. As well as the first hatchling I recieved as a gift, a wolf from a good friend that left the game etc. I am in the process of selling off a ton of stuff as it is, from past events etc. I would love to know what we can or cannot take so I know what I should sell or just save as I could use everything I have anyway. So, yea, I hope they pop out some usefull information on that soon too!

We aren't in Korea, here are a lot of MMO with this kind of service, and you can transfer 100% of your character from a server to another.

Back when I started playing I had picked Gustin because of its ping -- Frantz didn't even exist at the time. Now that things have improved and server pings seem better I thought I might try a Euro server -- sieging at 4:00 in the morning is not always fun and/or always an option for me. Now, the FAQ reads we can't transfer from NA to Euro server? Any particular reason for that? *raising fist*

4 Servers will probably have 1 way transfers so you will not be able to transfer a toon to them since they are servers that are usually heavy or medium all the time

So if you plan on transfering to these servers I wouldn't bet you could. Almost all games that allow server transfer do not allow you to transfer to any server you want, they want to even out the population so they allow you to transfer to lower population servers.

ever visited Lionna? MDT empty of shops, Aden empty of shops, Dion also.

Well, when this info first started up, i found info on how koreas transfers were, and they could only take adena with them, max lvl could take 2bil, and it went down from there,
ex. lvl 61 can take 150m (or around that) and C would take 50m. under C grade, no adena transfer. I dont see why our transfers would be any differnt.
I played kain for a long time, but i had way to bad lag problems, and switch to Hindemith a couple months ago (which i have to say im glad i did, i enjoy it more than kain). So, hopefully i can transfer to Hindemith from Kain... I don't even want my toons there, i just want my adena... tired of being dirt poor again :P

I noticed too we had fewer than usual & were missing the farmerbot shops after maintenance.
There u go with the problem. Why would NCsoft allow people off low population servers? They will allow people from high capacity servers to go lower ones but it would make no sense to allow people to transfer off servers with low populations because then they will be running servers for no reason and might as well just say screw server transfers and do mergers instead.
I hate saying this, But The Runt is right "(I mean Charmille of course! :)" And this is the MAJOR reason that server merging and transfers are wrong, they merely signal the end of the game, just in a staged step. Voluntary movement AWAY from the least populated servers. But it's ok so long as the hardcore environment has their way.... and the Bots they pay and USE to lvl,

I suppose I am one of the 'idiots' that wants transfers...and I do not want to move TO one of the high end population servers, I want to leave it. BuhBye Devianne, it was home, but I miss the old days before I rerolled my class years ago too much and dont know the people as well anymore. I went to a new server and would like to take the hard work from Dev with me.
From what I've dug up the max amount you can transfer is around 100mil, you can take all of your equipped gear plus 5 items from your inventory. I believe accessories are also able to come with you. Not sure on this one though. As well we all know if you are a clan leader the clan does not stay intact on the server you transfer to. As well I have also heard that Epic jewels are NOT transferable. Also heard that it's going to cost around $7 to transfer a character. But I'm sure most of you knew that as well.
(NONE of this is official of course, just things I've dug up on the subject. Took a while to do it as well, but it seems to fit within the limitations they would constrain us to, so I would expect something around that to be correct.)
However, I don't think that they would ban people from switching form a US server to a Euro considering they know a lot of Euro's didn't reroll in the first place for not wanting to lose their gear. IF NC was smart they would allow it. If....

Devianne's considered a high population server? Every time I log in it's light...and I mean that's when all the Europeans are on it as well. I can hardly find the items I want anymore. I've been considering moving away from Devianne because of the high population of Europeans on it now :(
Well, thats understandable though, they don't want to crash the servers by over-loading them. Also I don't really think people are wanting to transfer to high traffic servers. Most of us wanting to transfer are trying to transfer away from the high traffic servers.
It would be nice if we could take everything on us, not wh inventory but at least in our possesion. I have items of sentimental value I want to bring of course. No point in selling everything else if thats the limit, if you play from CB on you have over that anyway. Sigh

A restriction to "what you wear plus five items and 100m adena" would be ridiculous. Everybody who has one or more subclasses needs equipment for each of them. Five extra items would just be enough to carry all weapons with you, and then you would have to buy A grade/S grade armor for each of your subs when you are on the new server - from the 100m...

Sources? Some other poster on forums? Some random assumptions? Thinking that they do it the same way as they do it somewhere else or in another product of theirs? There has been no definite official info, so imho, this is total BS. Or are you working at NCNA and reading them from the memo concerning the details? If not, your info is as good as the ones stating that you can take all with you.

Nah. It will be an event. You will have 6 hours in which to assemble the letters for the server you want to go to, and turn them into the quest manager. The rare letters will not begin to drop until 2 minutes before the event ends, while the event managers will disappear 10 minutes ahead of schedule.

So you transfer two toons you get 200m and 10 items ;) just keep doing that might cost ya 50$ but you can get all your money on one server lol a lot of level 1 transfers hehe

If they did server mergers deciding who would get the clan halls would be crasy. They would have to wipe ownership of all the halls and castles and start over. Even that wouldn't go over very well and many many people would quit. I know alot of people would quit if my clan lost thier clan hall in Rune. Took us 2 months of setting in giran buying and selling everything we could make a profit from. Definatley not going through that again.
I definatly can't wait for transfers though. Been waiting forever to get my lvl 61 gladdy of Teon and moved over to Devianne.
Yeah same here I already transfered all my cash and items from my chars on Teon to the one im going to try and transfer, also heard from WarCry that there will be limitations to the number of items and amount of cash you can transfer over. :)

Im not worried about that my paly hasn't had anything on him but Adena since C2. Sold everything he had back then when I moved to Devianne. He has been waiting with the adena for this to come.
i just hope i can transfer to Teon or franz with most of my equipment, i REALLY want to change to EU timezone. haveing to start siege at 1AM or 3AM isnt fun.

Some people play one server, try another one since friends move to another one, and eventually come back to their "main" server. But I'm not sure it makes them "idiots" for asking server transfer to get the stuff they have on the other server. Kinda stupid to see it get lost huh...
