Charmille is ALWAYS wrong, but it helps to have so much imagination that Charmille ALWAYS thinks she is right in all manners and ways. Though we all know that is far from the truth...
I hope it's not too big, I've a 3Gbyte download cap on my internet connection and it would really suck having to spend a couple of months downloading the updates. Not to mention not being able to play in that time. :(
Actually, some regions have an Actual data size limit. And so, Bad Wolf's claim may have a high level of being legitimate. I know in my home country that it takes a lot of money to send large files, being about 2-3MB.
It takes about $1500-$2000 just to lay down a telephone/POT line.
Kama, if you could actually subtract you would see that it is more like 1.5Gbyte. Also downloading L2 is not the only thing I do with my computer I need to be able to use my connection for other things as well. :p

Best to do is using part of this months limit already to download ((aka, get pts)) then do another part next month, then wait for the pts to live conversion. ((the standard limit where i live is 10gb, but each extra gb costs bout 1 euro..))

Because L2 uses a patching system, you download much smaller files that will patch some of the current files, such that new weapons or armors can simply be added into the current weapon or armor .dat files, without having to redownload the entire .dat file. Some files however, are completely new, and need to be downloaded in its entirety. I would say, to expect about 3/5 of the difference (out of 1.6GB [1.499GiB]) to be actual download. Female Kamael texture file alone (uncompressed) is 27.7MB (26.4MiB).
