So, I have an OL who just hit A grade.

She's in a NM robe set and I'm in an itty bitty dilema.

I'm not exactly sure what I should be getting her for an A weapon. She has Dual SLS right now, that do the job, but I realized that A. I don't like duals, and B. A grade duals are waaay out of my price range. I duo a lot in FoTD with a prophet (a live one too!), so I'm more interested in a weapon that will deal out some decent damage that's affordable.

Any suggestions on a good weapon please? ^^
I can't tell you what is the best A grade weapon for your situation, although a dagger comes to mind. However, I think it's worthwhile to mention, you can probably do OK with your B grade weapons for a few levels, which should help give you time to shop for best prices, save a while longer, etc.
SoM w/ Acumen and then hope for a focus augment
Single Handed Blunt w/ Acumen

and then a focus dagger for solo weapon.

The SoM in my opinion is a great weapon for us, but since it doesn't stun, some people feel that you are loosing something. I have found stun is not useful at all in PvP at this level but others swear by it.

My 2 cents...
Focus dagger and definately ditch the NM robes.

if you do FOTD alot and wanna wait till higher lvl for pvp go tallum... poison/bleed resist. DC is the best overall, Maj for buffing/sieges/raids is nice.. might also help for pvp vs archers.

Focus dagger with soulcry is highest dps for you, depending if you're hunting low evasion mobs and make sure you pick up the mana herbs.

Without using soulcry focus sword/duals are good. Mage weapon is pointless unless for pvp in my opinion. Low DPS and unless you're sleeping mobs your crowdcontrol costs a ton of MP.

Oh, and stun is nice in pvp if you're runnning in the middle using seals and crowd control... otherwise people just want a CP battery so it's seldom used.

Stun is a nice skill have in PVP but I use a SOM also and it does just fine. add that with DC robes and +4 Witt Ouch ;)
I use the DC robes, +4 wit tats and my weapon of choice is a +7 Eleysian w/health. I can stun and my casting speed isn't that slow and I do pretty decent damage. Clan hall buff emp1 gives me mattk of about 900ish, not the best but it isn't the worst either.
okay so same question for WC. Same areas..nm robes or tallum light armor and a spirtiual brown eye with manna up... where is best places to level and any tips/tricks?
Spirit brown eye? LOL Crazy dang WC and his smelly stick of DOOM!! :p
Cooool thanks for all the input! ^^

Sticking with NM, sorry, but I fail at the market, and my NM set works well enough for me not to complain. Can always get some +WIT tats if I'm feeling too slow or something. But NM is the only way I can up my INT with a robe set I believe, unless I get a weapon with Empower, which I don't think is gonna happen.

Dagger sounds good from what I've been hearing (or maybe a blunt, arrrgh decisions). PvP is fun and all, but I really don't do it enough to get an SoM I guess, though it would be nice in big parties and stuff.

Thanks again for all the info, it's always nice to get some good advice :p
I fail to see where the extra int help you at all?

Drain is a backup heal, not a valid exp method.
Sleep will only be boosted slightly with NM, compared to taking forever to cast meaning your pty takes damage while you cast it.
Buffs will take ages to cast also because your WIT is lowered with the NM set for little benefit which you will not see because there isn't much need for int in a party with an OL.

also, if you're not planning on pvping don't get a blunt, you'll value the critrate of other weapons alot more.

I'd seriously suggest you think about selling your NM set and getting either tallum or DC... tallum would be nice if you lvl in FOTD alot because of it's resist bleed/poison. DC is the best overall as you'll find yourself keeping it to lvl 80. Even if you keep your NM till CT1 when it'll probably increase in value as tanks use it again with the change in boss jewels meaining they get rooted alot more.
I solo and duo a lot. I've found it useful since I am in robes, and I don't really want to be popping pots every other second. And the more hp I get from drains... makes things easier if I'm a bit low. But I do see your point, tallum does have some very nice aspects. Sadly, if I sell my NM now, I'll be back in B robes.

Unless there's someone quitting that wants to give me a free Tallum set or a bunch of adena, I find it rather unrealistic that I'll be able to get a Tallum set anytime soon, unless I decide to just run around Giran and make money for a month. Just not that good at playing market really, and I think I'll be focusing on getting an A weap (you think a dagger would be alright?) before getting a better A grade robe set.
:) I used avadon robes until I was level 68 when I could finally afford a DC helmet.

Now with my sub class being an elemental summoner I get light armor masteries and I'm using DC light (so I wouldn't have to buy another helmet) and it turns out for soloing on my Dominator, the DC light works out pretty good too.

I used, and still use, my elysian with health, and now I'm using a bloody orchid with focus, and the dagger does a good bit of damage and crits often, works well with soul cry. Just have to make sure to hunt in a field mob area where you can get those wonderful mana herb drops.
You seem to be a pve player, that's fine. I'd go for NM light. It has a incorporated vampiric rage and works well with a dagger. The +DEX of the set is also good if you want to use a bow (i do in parties sometimes and with soulcry it's great).

For pvp, i stun a lot. CP heal, stun, CP heal, stun... That's all an OL can do in pvp for now. So a tunic with an acumen blunt is the way to go imo.
Dreaming spirit works well on daggers/archers, I like to use that alot in pvp.
