Jut because I live in Europe right now I have to pay 25% more for the monthly subscription. The official site Lineage 2 site states the monthly subscription costs either US$14.99 or 12.99 euro. But right now 13 eu are about US$20. So I want to pay in dollars. But I cannot. No matter what I do I always get a link to pay in euro.
We pay £8.99 here in the UK so we actually pay more than the US but less than the rest of Europe. I know politics aren't allowed, but hell, why do you think we're still GBP! Rule Britannia!
It is, but you still pay less for stuff... if you get what I'm saying.
Basically, it's normally cheaper to buy stuff in US$ here in the UK because things are cheaper over there. But with the GB£ being strong at the moment compared to the US$ it's even CHEAPER. So the party's in the UK right now... ROCK ON *moshes*
PS: 'fake' the country at your account info to a north american if you want to pay in $. billing currency is set permanently with the first payment and can't be changed anymore
the world just needs to switch over to american dollars, that would solve it all. then after that, it can switch to american language and control.
Ye, that would solve everything. Apocalypse(change to Armageddon, Ragnarok or whatever you call End of the World in your culture/language/beliefs), here we come!
For the record: if you happen to subscribe whilst located in neither Europe or NA you will be billed according to your regions assignement.
However those assignments have changed during the course of various chronicles. ( Perhaps because of the introduction of Euro Servers)
Anyhow as a result I was billed for my two accounts in two different currencies and as previously stated they were not charged as an even currency equivelents.
However requesting to change your billing to another currency (depending on your banks setup) potentially incurrs the paying bank fees as a conversion charge which you render.
Therefor a lost advantage in switching if you are already paying in a currency compatiable with your region.

No, it wouldn't be the end of the world, it would be just the begaining of a more beautiful one, the United States of the World. Sounds good :D now only if bush's term wouldn't end next year, we would be set... otherwise the dirty democrates could take power O.o they will take all your money and give it to lazy people!!! Now that would be terrible
Hey, it's not our fault our economy got driven into the ground!
But gotta admit, it sure makes quarterly profits easier to hit when you're using a devalued $.
#1: Upon account creation, register as an American citizen and pay your first payment with an American payment method. After the first month you can switch back to your European info and still pay in USD.
#2: Buy 30 day timecards for 14,90 USD from... "sources"... you save 9 cents and the code gets delivered to your e-mail box 10 seconds later.
Very funny, but I was actually thinking about the dollar course and online games when driving home from work today. What if at one point, the dollar drops to a 2:1 ratio with the euro (right now it's at 1.5:1)... what will game developers do? Will the euro price stay the same, but the dollar price get doubled? If so, what will happen to NCsoft timecards... will they cost 60 dollars to play for 2 months? I think that would be catastrophic...

They have to stay competitive with WoW. They won't raise their price over the montly price to play any other mmo, imo. Besides, if they doubled my price to play, I doubt i would continue to. I KNOW I wouldn't continue to pay for multiple accounts..

Just wait around awhile and everything will flux and change back and then after awhile longer will change again.
It wasn't so long ago that the Canadian dollar was worth like .73 cents against the US dollar--now it's stronger.
It all changes all the time. It will come back...and when you adjust to the change it will shift yet again (lol).
We should be able to pay them in adena--it's their currency after all.
Consider that the USD have hittest the lowest low it been in my entire life, at teh echange rate now to almost 1:6 it use to be around 1:9 I'm not seeing it going up there agian, it's still dropping at an insane rate.
I can't say I can see the dollar go up any time soon really.

As much as I <3 the Canadians, their dollar isn't worth more than the American dollar because their economy is necessarily getting stronger. Ours is going to hell, they're just benefitting.

Quoted for truth :). Allthough I think our economy is doing SLIGHTLY better (don't know how slight that is).
P.S Thanks to the U.S for the cheaper merch. I buy stuff from american companies, send it to my uncle, pay less tax and less money over all. No shipping fees and no border charges as he comes up every few weeks with a box of "gifts"

Nah it's more than that. Your economy is awful right now AND the Canadian economy is doing really well now. This will change sooner or later, you guys do have roughly 10x our population, but give credit where credit is due. A few things have helped the Canadian economy of late, but one big thing has been oil...
Anyways, glad our country isn't governed by Bush. :p

Don't admit to that!! If our dollar has to go down the toilet AND your economy has to do AWESOME for your dollar to surpass ours, there's strange things afoot :P
Actually for a long time Canada wanted a weaker dollar than the U.S. because when the dollar is weak it helps exports. Having a strong currency isn't always the best.
I wish the Canadian dollar were really weak personally... earning money in yen sucks these days >.<

I think you'll find that there is no such thing as an American language, you just stole English and replaced some of the longer words because they were too difficult for you to pronounce or understand. ;)
Back on subject, I'm happy that my accounts are billed in dollars. I currently pay about £8/month. It saved me enough money on the 5 accounts that I had to allow me to start another one. A weak US dollar is good news for the L2 world (or at least some of us). :D

Not just those words that were long or difficult for some. We also eliminated those words which seemed to represent disgusting foods, such as haggus.
Besides, we didn't steal the language. We inherited it :P
Haggis, isnt it like Scottish or sumthing? I dont see a relation with Haggis, British and how Americans dumbed down the language.
There's plenty of disgusting foods that the English eat. It just so happens the closest I can get before losing my lunch is Scottish.
Besides, I wasn't pointing out that we didn't dumb down the language. I was pointing out that we *also* eliminated some of the more disgusting foods. This really has nothing to do with the so-called dumbing down of 'American English.'
It has to do with slightly disgusting food habits, the Canadian dollar, and how everyone stereotypes everyone else.
Disgusting foods like those fast food hamburgers and whatnot your country is full of? ^^ Or Butterfingers and other such horrible treats? :P
Hamburgers are great as long as it is not made from the scrapings of animal parts you don't know about. So fast food can be bad. You want gross eating? Go to the amazon or asian countries. I do have to say that Asians have some of the best food around. They also happen to have some of the ... hrm... less appetizing cuisines.

Personally, I prefer the raw fish wrapped with rice and the gametophyte stage of the porphyra life cycle. Nothing better, imo.

You fool, locusts are crunchy.
Amazon country? The female warriors or Brazil? :)
Brazil has the best food of the world. Such a pleasure to eat there! Deliciousness and delectation beyond will!
Hamburgers are junk food, whether you know where the meat comes from or not. Sandwiches are NOT a dish!
And english food is... sadness itself. :/
BTW fishes > meat so Scandinavia is great too!
For the topic : it's impressive how mysterious taxes make computer games at $50 sell for 60 when crossing Atlantic. My bet is on the Bermuda Triangle vanishing stock exchange crisis.
I like KFC.
And even our persian cat (which is so gluttonous that eats even boiled potatoes) don't eat english food.
As it was in the anecdot:
In the hell the cooks are english, the entertainers are german and the admistration is italian.
im guessing then, you have NO idea what goes on behind the counter. although, ive heard about McDonalds and that doesnt stop me from buying unitexture double cheese burgers for 1$ each.

Aren't KFC chickens more closely related to pigs after they pump them full of those growth hormones? Still, the occasional Zinger won't kill you. ;)
cause the american dollar is in the pooper right now. Us canadians still pay more then americans do for most of the stuff they have, cars for example atm in canada a car going for 35k, in the states its only 24k ... Stores in canada are not showing the strong canadian dollar on prices because american prices have dropped dramatically to keep the market in the us going; and from what i heard they do the same to the european counterparts who get stuff from american companies...basically the european and canadian markets are getting the shaft to try and keep the american tugboat trundling along. God love america :P ya right

The nice thing for me, having moved way too far to border with the Great White North is those filthy rich Canadians come down to take advantage of the exchange rate and get cheap gifts, and inexpensive lodging/travel. They keep our strippers' garters filled ;) Hooray for Canucks!
I dunno, i'm canadian and my credit card is charged american dollars and the card company makes the exchange rate to canadian dollars. I don't see why this coudnt work for everyone.
