Could you please note the following infomation here.
If you already own an existing augmentation, then please write the level of life stone used and what weapon (and grade) its on, then check out at the blacksmith how much it costs to remove the augmentation, then note down the cost for it.
If you're going to augment a weapon, then please note down the life stone level, what weapon you're trying to augment (plus what its grade is), then note down how many gemstones and of what type it costs.
We are trying to make a complete listings of all the creation costs and removal costs for augmentations, so any help would be appreciated. Thank you :)
Placeholder - Here's what I remember. Will update when I get home.
Level 46 Lifestone
Active: Return (Around 30m re-use timer, instant Scroll of Escape).
on my Homu - no glow.
Level 52 Mid-Grade Lifestone
P-Atk +5.6
Accuracty +0.9
Active: Increase P-Atk (+32) (Around 5m re-use timer, increases my P-Atk for 2 minutes - stacks on all buffs).
on my Yaska - Glow visible but it looks stupid because it looks designed for a sword.
every augment ive ever removed from my drac bow has cost 480k, regardless of lvl or grade of LS. im fairly sure that every augment removed costs the same according to grade of weapon.
and the same with gem costs. grade of weapon dictates grade and amount of gems. IE s grade with always be 30 c gems.
disclaimer: some values may be slightly off since i havent augmented in a couple months, its a bad addiction.
i done some augments on the pts so they might be off
top A grade weapon is 20 C gems to augment and 400k to remove
S grade weapon is 25 C gems and 450k to remove

Yes, the cost to remove an augmentation depends only on the grade of the weapon - same for the amount of gemstones it costs to add it. The lvl/grade of the life stone does not matter. Putting an augmentation on a crystal staff always costs 20 gemstones D, no matter what lvl life stone you use.
it's an expensive & addicting thing thats for sure
used over 50+ life stones of all kinds and the best results I got are from 67 and higher normal & mid grade stones, don't bother with high or top grade stones as it is not worth the money spent unless you want to have a glow that bad..
Guys before you start posting in reply to this you should be made aware that this is NOT a question from the OP. It is to help build a database on the Wiki which Stratics are doing.
Just thought that may help in your responses - i.e. not pointing him to other threads (which I'm sure he's already read) or saying other pointless stuff.
active skills are NOT that good, generally lasts 2 minutes takes 5 to recharge, and slow as hell cast speed. there are better ones, like nukes and such. the best augments are generally passive ones, but they are also the rarest. next best are probably the stat modifers that give u +1 STR, CON, INT, or MEN but ive never heard of anyone getting those
The active is stronger than the equivalent passive, the nice thing about both is when you have the active on a secondary weapon. The reuse is sorta long but for 2 minutes you have a stacked WM.
61 life stone, active skill focus. that was my first augment. same deal on reuse and duration the overall effect was an increase of 8 to my crit rate, which was couldn't be increased at all regardless how many extra crit buffs u got.
now try and tell me that the active skill is more powerful then the passive.
Well, last i checked magic crit and regular aren't the same mechanics. Physical crit rate increases are all based off of your base crit. They ignore all your other buffs and then sum the results.
Many WM buffs are tacked on the end, that is the invisible stat the game uses is just multiplied by some factor rather than the buff being applied to the base value and then added. Even if the active has identical power to the passive that means double the effect of the augment for those two minutes. If you think it's insignificant i can point you towards some nukers on lionna who would disagree.
Back to topic:

took 20 c gem, as have all augments i have tried.
no glow btw. well it might but i cant tell. hehe
I would really appreciate it if people could test out how much it costs to remove the augment they have...you don't have to actually remove it, just put it in the window then note the price :)
I have removed several augments lvl 59-67 stones and they were all 390,000 adena to remove.
All of them took 20 C gemstones to augment. So the price to augment depends on the cost of the life stone and where you purchase your gemstones. For lvl 59-67 those are all I have used so far.
it only matters what weapon you use, not the life stone.
If thats the case the it costs 390k to remove an aug from a +3 SOM, or it costs that much to remove an aug at character lvl 67. I did them all to the same wep at the same lvl.
but it is the case, the costs of removing an augment is only dependent on the weapon, not your level.
OK. I'm not arguing I just posted the wep, I don't dought it is dependant on the weapon you use. Im gladd to know it will most likley alway cost me 390k to remove an aug since I will prob always have this SOM tell I blow it up :).
The costs of removing an augment is only dependent on the Grade of the weapon Just like the amount of gems you need to augment it in the first place is based on the Grade of the Weapon.

So do S grade weapons take B gemstones to augment? Just wondering since every time I read something about augmentation it's different.

Unless you get a skill (Active or Passive or Chance, doesn't matter), when using a Mid-Grade stone, the augmentation will NOT have a glow.
A High lvl stone will give a glow everytime.
Low lvl stone does not seem to have any chance at glow.
This augmentation glow overwrites the Glow of a regular Enchantent, which is quite stupid and annoying IMO. I like my A/g Flame glow far better than any augment glow.
I have tried this many a time. I have a +7 SoM, and everytime I get a augment glow, my pretty A/g Flame (visible on A/S weapons starting at +7 Enchantment) glows turns into the craptastic Augmentation glow.
It does not matter how bright or dim the augmentation glow is, it will still overwriht the +12 glow that he has on his DG's.
Now, even though DG is a pretty fugly looking weapon, I think he'd definently notice the change in animation.

all true but on a +8 or more weapon a top grade LS not High Grade looks cool but it does dim the Blue a little. a +10 Blue looks like a +9 Blue and a +9 Blue looks like a +8 Blue get were I'm going with this?

It still changes the entire animation. So instead of the steady flowing flames, you'd get fizzing random Lightling.
yep not changing it, unless of course im lucky enough to get a top grade stone from a drop. With the odds of that happening I imagine I will have this aug for a long time.

Try to beat mine... I'm geting rooted by my own "Chance" augment when I do seals.
Great job, NCSoft!
And as usuall, the Petition system both in and out of game is rubbish (spend hella lot of time with writting e-mails and petitions only to get ****. As always.)
