ElementalSummoner

Elf Classes Started Last reply 6 posts
My main character is a Plainswalker, and I have a PP for buffs(Decided over WC for resists etc). I have been thinking of making a ESummoner as a alt pretty soon. Atm, i plan to make a EE with the ES. I figured this would work well, because i could them use both PP and EE buffs for both charaters. The only buffs i would really be missing is VR and Reflect damage, as ES has empower for summon. Now, it might get annoying switching back and forth for buffs, so WC is still tempting. But also is Clarity, shockresist, pretty high % rez, party return etc.
Any recommendations on what might be the best way to play the ES?
Options:
1.ES only with Current PP
2.ES with EE and PP buffs (have to bring both to hunting zone, then relog for PP buffs, then log back on EE for exp, takes time :( )
3.ES with WC running with it

I dont think there will be a 4th option, because it would be having just ES/EE, which lack offencive buffs.

And no SE for this, i would rather have a WC, and my SE or Sws will be coming here on buffer account at CT1.

Well, any help with this would be great.
I dunno, the great thing about summoners is they don't need a buffer to solo like other classes. That's pretty much what they are best at, soloing, which is why I made one.

It's not like they are good at PVP so leveling them up fast with a buffers severs little purpose other then to level fast. Also if you party your EE with your ES the xp would be slow, though I'm not 100% sure how that works, but the summon will take at least 10% xp (using Merrow) add the duo xp on that and you'll be slugging along slowly. Maybe someone can correct me on this.
Either 1: ES+PP or 3: ES+WC. EE is the least useful, as they don't have zerk (PP) or vr (WC), nor do they have focus/dw/accuracy, They only have might3..

With PP or WC you also get gr.might. PP would give you more offence due to zerk, WC would give you more staying power/lazyness due to VR. It's just preference which one. I guess I would chose WC due to lazy buffing and lazy levelling, heh.

PP you could lvl to 58 and after that keep out of party, grmight2+3 isnt worth the XP you loose from partying with the PP.

Expect a great improvement in XP/hr with WC or PP.

I did this grouping with my boyfriend's Gladiator and had the pony out. He got his usual slice of the XP and mine had the chunk taken out by the pony so he got a lot more. I did it so he could catch up to me, since I was ahead of him. But this really means I can't level with him for long on this character.

So, yes, it would be bad if there were another party member you always had IN the party.
Well, they wouldnt always have to be partied, if a clannie WC is on, for example, i would either buff with one i had if its higher, or just leave it. And this charater i wouldnt worry to much about, exp wise, cause this isnt the one that i would be lvling up as much, just for little side fun. And yes, a good summoner can be good at pvp :) just no vs. all classes.
And as far as the PP, he will be lvling normally with my main, so he will always be higher than the summoner, and OOP buffer if i choose to go with just a PP buffer. WC would be picked mainly just for VR. EE would be more just to have a EE and leech from buffer, then later i can stack uni buffers with clarity, lower delay+lower MP=goodo 4 nuker party.
XP is XP, but I'd rather have a group. For example, my wife has a 72 BD. I can pull out Kai, and we go to Martyr's. Her and Kai can easily hold a large room, and it's a lot more fun for me than soloing. We can go to HS, or a lot of other places. I could prolly level faster, but I'd rather have fun playing than level fast. That's just my opinion, though.

Later!
