NCsoft Austin, the U.S. branch of NCsoft, the world’s largest independent developer and publisher of online computer games is seeking a talented Network Operations Center (NOC) Administrator I to work on our night shifts. The purpose of this position is to provide support and surveillance of all game and infrastructure servers including any ancillary systems. This position reports directly to the NOC Supervisor.
NOTE: Only local candidates will be considered at this time.
Essential Functions
Interact with support staff to resolve issues
Monitor hardware/software via proactive monitoring software
Perform Daily/Weekly checks on all assigned servers
Respond to any outage assigned to the NOC Group
Monitor and respond to all emails
Maintain problem ownership and accountability
Perform other duties as assigned
Publish game data as needed
Document procedures as needed
Requirements
Associates Degree preferred or equivalent work related experience
1-2 years of experience as a system administrator: Windows
Proven experience and skill with DNS
Proven experience and skill with network troubleshooting
Proven experience and skill with server hardware and software troubleshooting
The ability to communicate professionally in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a positive working environment
Ability to be a team player and self starter
Extreme attention to detail and the ability to perform routine tasks flawlessly on a consistent basis
Ability to maintain high level of customer satisfaction
Adaptability
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer skills.
Rack servers and patch cables as needed.
Ability to perform analytical thinking
Availability to work third shift is required in a 24x7 work environment.
NOC and/or datacenter experience a plus.
MSCE/CCNA is a plus.
Linux administration experience is a plus
I'm buried under a pile of patch notes and website updates for the upcoming update. *flail* :) I'm still here, just not able to comment quite as much.
I might just be looking under the covers of this comment a little too closely, but when you say "website updates", does that mean we will have skill list updates straight away rather than waiting 6 months for them (this was the past trend before you came along)? Or is it just the patch notes update of things.
Then again i think it's nearly time for the site refresh again (happened in prelude, then again in c4), so could it be a revamp of the website? Or maybe im just looking too much in to this :P
