we're getting the patched korean CT ie translated to english as usual so why would this be any different ? at least now we can start talking about K+ which is atm PTS in Korea and looks like to be what CT1 should have been haha
I'm getting sick of the way things are going with L2. I had plans of thing to acheive before CT1 and can't even think of doing them now because NC can't give us even a weeks notice before they release untested updates.

I was hoping for details at the very least of how this would work. How many characters can I transfer? How frequently? How much of my worth/possessions can I take with me? What is the cost of transferring? Etc., etc.
But as usual, we're left in the dark, and I'm starting to think they will backtrack on their word to make these features available.
The lack of updates to the CT1 PTS client indicates that they have another internal test server. Or I think they do. :D I just started my PTS client and it is now updating itself. Better grab your update now before the servers get flooded! Better yet, wait till I'm done updating before you update yours. It is possible going live now is a bit rushed but the holidays are just around the corner and everyone will scatter by the 19th. I'm going to miss Interlude. PS - I just sold my polearm. :(
Its amazing how people complain that something takes too long, and also complain when its too early. I guess you just cant please some people. Did you ever think that the client you are playing on PTS is not the final version that will go live? If you don't like how its done, can I have your stuff, because you will be quitting right?

Well, I could go on for about another 40-50 points, but whatever. Grats on rushing a completely crappy and incomplete update, with absolutely no advanced information on any of the features we are really wanting.
I have no complaints of when everyone will get their Kamael toes. You are correct in that no matter how something is done there will always be someone who will be displeased. You move on and not worry about that unless it causes a massive loss in revenue. I played PTS twice, before the boost so I have my toons and again after 2nd boost. If Kamael comes with or without bugs that is not my problem to deal with.

Also, there is always the possibility that all these bugs afe fixed on an inhouse version, just not released on PTS.
You're jumping to conclusions too quickly. It's just a game so kick back, relax, and see what happens. Or do what some are doing, frantically poling while they still can. In defense of NCSoft, those of us who have played previous PTSs know every chronicle PTS had horrible bugs that never actually made it to live. So let's just wait and see :)

What you fail to get is, its not getting -better-, its getting worse.
More and more bugs are *not* being fixed each update, and just released. Have they been fixed in Korea? Of course.

Sales? Hmmm, still don't see any boxed retail versions anywhere, or even any announcements at Gamestop, CompUSA, etc., etc.
Advertisements? Haven't seen much of that either. If anything, they're relying on renewed interest from their core base and word of mouth, as usual. Instead of Chrono weapons, why don't they just give us all t-shirts, hats, bumper stickers, fridge magnets and coffee mugs. We'll advertise, alright!

i'd say the opposite
if you can't manage to lvl a toon on pts with highly jacked up xp rates you wont have a high lvl toon on live
don't know where to start with this but for starters noone has taken a large fort on PTS and afaik the control rooms are bugged
if it turns out all NC is gonna do is copy and paste the korean code onto NA servers then why even bother having a PTS? i'm sure we can all deal with seeing a missing comma every now and again

If i was ncsoft i would do the same. there is a business reason for this.

that's because a lot of the stuff we were supposed to get in CT1 didn't make the Korean deadlines and thus ended up in "CT1,5" ie K+, with some luck they will roll K+ out at the same speed as in Korea ^^"
there's a huge difference between ct1 and ct1.5, dont be silly. For starters ct1.5 max level is 85 (on your main), we still have max level 80 on ct1
Anyways, NCSoft NA tbh is just there to translate stuff from korean to english, I remember no serious bug that was notice in NA getting fixed... for gods sake 2 endgame skills that worked in c4/c5 got broken in interlude, the koreans didnt notice, NA players noticed and reported them, interlude in finishing up tomorrow and those 2 skills still arent fixed :S
To tell you the truth, I'm quite happy about this update. Yes, it may be bugged, I wouldn't know though, but I learned not to care anymore. I might lose all of my adena, I might lose all my equipment because of these bugs, but no matter what happens, I'll still be happy with it, because it's just a game and as long as I can talk to all of my friends and have fun, everything is gonna be just fine. I honestly wouldn't mind anything, even if it means starting everything from scratch.
I know, we all pay £9/month for this, but it's fun :) I actually like finding stuff that doesn't work, even if it affects me in a bad way.
Updates are fun because of new content and while it may mean things are still broken, I always find it funh testing all of those new things. I had a break from the game a while ago and when I left, the game was still C5 and I got back some time after Interlude went live. Started on a completely different server and enjoyed the feeling of being a n00b :p I went to Primeval Island, got killed by the dinosaurs, got PKed and what not, but I had fun and that's what mattered. I don't like perfect games, they tend to become monotone after a while. Lineage 2 changes all the time, and all the time you have to learn to do things in a completely different way from what you usually did. It's just like learning a totally new game. This really attracts me to L2 and NC, thank you for this!

Equiping/unequiping armor in macros is not working properly. Or the longest bug ever been here ... you cannot meelee hit something that is moving, yet mobs can.

Back in c1 you if you were far from a mob you could hit spoil and you would run 2 the mob and spoil it now you hit it and it says out of range and you just stand there :(

Yeah but having a 6-8 weeks delivery on the AGP card because it's almost impossible to order AGP cards here atm. They already switched to 100% PCI-E support.... And ordered it 4 weeks ago to have it before Christmas.

I'm also surprised that you can't get AGP as recently I went into Microcenter and saw a large assortment of AGP. I was told that many people weren't adopting PCI express at the rate the makers hoped so out came more AGP cards.
In any rate I'm starting to see a lot of people "******" about this surprise update. Quite frankly, I would have thought more people would have been excited. No waitiing.
Of course there are still the impending bug issues but it is my thought that they have "some" of them fixed on an internal system and just didn't push it to live.
As far as the special services, my guess is that they will either make the official announcment shortly (and perhaps even on the day CT1 gets put on the official servers) or shortly thereafter as it would be a good thing for players coming back.

Thank you for giving us a huge free update. Thank you for letting us play on the PTS, a bonus you don't have to give us. Thank you for giving us a wonderful game, IMHO the best game I have ever played (and I have been playing games for a loooooong time) and thank you for keeping the subscription price so low, just pennies per hour. I think you all are doing a great job, and I want to let you know that it is appreciated.

The truth is that they have released an absolutely sick amount of content with no charges attached. Hell, their production schedule makes NCSoft look like a glacier moving uphill. I like L2, but when it comes to the number, breadth, and depth of free content releases Blizzard wins hands down.

People always complain about everything... I seriously don't understand why people get so angry at what NCsoft do, we've already established that NC arn't exactly the best at doing what they do, but they made an amazing game that we all play despite their (sometimes) stupid decissions.
My only complaint is that the 8 hour maintenance is on the only day I have off uni ><

I'd be more than happy to have a slightly buggy release as long as we get a list of the outstanding bugs and a schedule (albeit a rough one) for fixes. To have a buggy piece of crap dumped on you just because it's free is not very "customer first".

There are some of us simply asking whether or not it's truly a $20 gold piece...because the devs have sent out fool's gold before, and you all **** well know it!
We still don't have any info on server transfers, name changes, etc., but it's probably something that they won't be able to do within the first days of "live" anyway.
Save an interlude client and you'll be fine. Just don't update it. (make a copy and run L2.exe)

Just to make it clear ;) You need to make a copy of the whole client (you can of course delete the duplicate screenshots), then once its copied, delete the lineage2.exe file so you don't accidently update it, then run the l2.exe file in the system folder every time to view your interlude replays.
A big thanks from me, too. If I hadn't read this topic, my replays would have been useless tomorrow.
One problem, though. When I try to rename the interlude folder, I get an error message, saying that I can't rename it, because the music folder is in use "by someone else or another program". I don't have anything L2 related up whatsoever, so this is a mystery for me. It's not a big deal or nothin, but it seems odd. I did a virus scan, but it didn't catch anything.

I just think the problem is that because the PTS was such a sham people dont have any confidence in seeing the update being released to live servers. It should be a good update, and it is, but there are still alot of issues with it.
