I read at least two different posts mentionign voice communication in the game. Obviously it is not implemented in the game directly so some other means must be used.
Did someone used such communication successfully and which program was used?
They both have their good and bad points. I use both and to be fair I wouldn't be able to pick between the two. I like the admin levels, key bindings and channel commander which comes with teamspeak but I also like the simple layout and advanced input options for PTT which are in Ventrilo.
I currently use TS and Ventrilo daily and I'm frankly looking forward to seeing TS3 when it finally comes out.
TS is good for large (100+) communities and I'd prefer Ventrilo for the smaller.

TS, Ventrilo = 3rd party tools giving advantages?
OMG, NCSoft, pls ban those players who said they use a 3rd party tools !!
While I appreciate that many folks have strong opinions as to how much better Ventrilo is over Teamspeak, it's a bit more complicated than that.
Yes, Ventrilo has superior voice quality. Heck, they just did an update and some of the features are really cool. It's just a really well put together server and client side application that does a fantastic job.
That being said Teamspeak can be free and you can control it. If you have a decent internet connection and a spare PC with pretty much any power whatsoever you can setup a Teamspeak server and you're good to go. I ran a 24 person TS server out of my closet for about eight months for my L2 clan. All it cost me was electricity. Since I didn't have to go through someone else(Ventrilo didn't allow you to run a server of your own for more than eight people last time I checked) you are in complete control of it and you can walk away at any time. No contract. No monthly fees.
Both are fine programs. If you don't mind paying for it, Ventrilo is awesome. If you do mind paying for it, but you clan says they will help you out with donations...give them Teamspeak. My clan leader in WoW asked for donations over a two year period of people using a 100-person Vent server. I gave him $200. From what he told me that was pretty much all he got from a clan with 164 people in it.
Good folks, but when it comes to acutally whipping out the Visa most simply don't do it. Like many things on the internet: people love Ventrilo, they just don't want to pay for it. That doesn't make them bad people. It's just the way most folks are.
OUr clan started out back in the day with TS. We used it for about a year, switched over to a paid Vent server and we love it. The voices are crystal clear even for our European friends and it has a very easy learning curve.
I think TS is more the techie kind of thing where Vent is more a consumer kind of thing.
I have used it, but it doesn't come close to TS or Ventrilo.
Someone had told me about it, I was just curious. We use Vent now.
XFire is more like a chat program that can integrate itself into the game. It has been 1 year since I last used it so I don't know if they have added voice functions or not.
