For those complaing about server transfers

I have read how some people have been upset that NCSoft has been promising server transfers for three years, and they havent delivered, etc etc etc.

My question is... If you were unhappy with your server three years ago, why the hell are you still on it?

The grass is ALWAYS greener on the other side. These are the NA servers, so it's acceptable, but obviously makes no sense. As always, it simply comes down to just plain greed. "I can lvl more/PK more/ pvp more..." In the end it's just saying I don't give a crap about the end result, I want what I want NOW, and ****ed if it doesn't make sense! "Paid Account Services" are the worst offenders, yet still, begged about in the lvl of faith of some "coming of God" style of manner. TY to the rodents of L2, your eternal wisdom is noticed. :)

Short answer, I'm not. :p There's a better reason for server xfers imo :D

TBH I don't care about the transfers. I find how they treated their costumers outrageous. Transfers is just 1 example.

/agreed - it is not about transfer, not at all. It is about the complete lack of Customer Service and the fact that NCSoft will not admit that it screwed up. They would save face, if they just came out and admited that they screwed up over this. The players would be a lot more forgiving if they just admited their mistakes.

Because its too much to expect a company to deliver what they promise right and it's certainly too much for a PAYING CUSTOMER to have certain expectations for the things or services they pay for?

They said some looong time ago "It won't matter what server you grow up on, you'll be abkle to transfer". It was at the time Teon was launched, to satisfy Euros that did not want to reroll if they got already (for that time) high level toons. I think Ash was CM at that time...

You can't really hold them to what an entrepid CM accidently blurted out in the beginning of the game where they seriously thought they'd get that service. Sure that was a mistake and NCSoft has admitted such (at least I remember Mistryl saying so). Right now they have promised us server transfers which we will get, its just a question of time right now, which they really haven't made any 100% commitments to, only told us what they were aiming for. I'd still rather have it work right, than getting released too early and it being buggy/incomplete. We aren't talking about a dev team here, but a very very small team of people trying to keep things together.

Would be a proper comparison if you bought your BMW without any oil tank and that everyone got their BMW like that. :p

I believe Teon was after Ash time though. And honestly I don't remember anyone promising such at all. I certainly remember complaining tons when Teon came out exactly because there was NO mention of server transfer at the time at all.

Well, listen, the transfers ARE coming.

Before, all people got was a "we're looking at it". That could mean anything. That they are talking about, mentioning it at lunch or actually planning it, etc.

Now, at least people know that all 3 services are being worked on internally for "early" 2008 (possibly january).

However, NC Korea seems to be an arrogant company with communication issues. As it is, I know that NC NA doesn't get full information until many times the last minute. Especially because they have to wait for translations to many things.

That and that the development of this game is more like throwing darts on a dart board, really ****** me off.

They didnt have any problems with doing that with the release of CT1. The number of bugs and incomplete features in game is just horrible. The patch notes are lacking in every aspect and generally the whole implementation was worse than anything NC has done so far. So dont think they're trying to make the paid services work, they're just so incompetent that they cant get them work in any way.

As soon as they work even 1/3 of the time, it will be released, just like CT1. Thats the NC way.

Well, I dont' remember them ever giving an absolute "will definitely launch on this day, come hell or high water" date for transfers to be implemented. I remember it being said that they were striving to release it with the CT1 update. They never said it would happen by then. They said it was what they were hoping for. So they haven't failed to deliver on it on time, because they never promised when it would be implemented in the first place.

What does seem to be happening is some people have set their own expectations for it and now want to send NC to the gallows because they failed to meet them. Seems more like a personal issue to me.

Yes it sucks. I've been quite eager to get my main over to my new server, as have several other people I know. But hey, beginning of next year is still a helluva lot sooner than never. And I'm sure if they did rush it out to appease the impatient and it had bad bugs, some of the same folks raising cane here would be laying into them for releasing it too soon.

STOP complaining about server transfers and start asking for server mergers now since game would benefit from that more than us paying to transfer.

I'm waiting for account transfers so I can move my SE to a clean account and have all my other toons benefit from it.

Although I didn't start out behind the idea of server transfers, I've come to believe there are some legitimate reasons to allow them.
And I have to go along with others who pointed out that they have been slow in coming.

"why didn't you reroll 3 years ago?"--perhaps the situation faced now didn't exist then?

Perhaps you leveled little mains on 3 servers and would like to bring some of those proceeds (which you did work to earn in game) to your main account.

Perhaps 5 months ago you found out a couple friends had rerolled and had powerleveled toons on another server and they left you (easier for them) and your subclassed toon behind.

Perhaps you like more PvP competition and major alliances/clans all left your server in the past 6 months--it's not like you can duplicate a 76 toon in that 6 months on the other server (and why should you HAVE to?).

There are reasons players might want to transfer--and it has been discussed by NCSoft for quite some time. I believe the last I saw basically said "maybe February".
I can see why letting down paying subscribers would have some of them frustrated.

I know what some might say, "tough, just delete one of your toons"
You might be right, but I dont think so.
You see, I like all of my toons and dont want to have to delete one.
"But you could make a Kamael on a different server" you might add.
True, but why should I have to start fresh on a new server.
I already got to "try out" a kamael on the test server.
Again you might say its too bad or tough luck, sucks to be you.......whatever.
The fact remains that they said they were adding this feature a long time ago, for whatever reason.
And after a very long wait, that much anticipated feature is soon to be given to the L2 community.
I for one will be happy to have the opportunity to use it.
Do you consider the expectations of the people complaining to be greed when what I/they are only asking for is fair and equal treatment that is given to the people on the Korean servers ?
Being that they have had these account services for some time already.
Its not like we are asking them to add new content, these are things that have already been established in Korea.
