MMORPG.

Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game.

Every time we log in, we become one of the teeming masses that inhabit the world of Aden. But each of us has our own view on what those teeming masses are. Do you see them as a part of the game's immersion, a part of the social environment, a tool only for group questing and raids, or simply in your way?

I believe everyone has their own personal reasons behind playing MMO's and Lineage II in particular, some play to party, others play to grind; it's largely down to the fact of whether you are a 'hardcore' gamer or just a 'casual' gamer.

Personally, i play MMO's more for the social aspect. The opportunity to meet new people from a vast array of locations around the world, with no preconceptions, and no prejudgements.

Of course, i have friends and like to socialise outside of the game but its subtly endearing to find something in common with an absolute stranger; and ultimately for me the friendships you make throughout the course of play help make the game more 'immersive'.

I like to consider myself a 'hardcore' gamer and when i play, i play to win. Competitiveness is another aspect of the social community that brings people together and L2 offers a lot of that. Admittedly you always get the odd jerk who just likes to piss on everyones chips but its the same irl, you just ignore them and move on.

Well i have given my Two Cents, im not fully sure if i have given the right opinions as i found the way in which the question was posed quite confusing ^_^

Conclusively if there were no other players on an MMO there would be absolutely no reason to play, for me at least. If i wanted to be entertained with no social interaction for a few hours id just boot up my SNES and bully Zangief on Street Fighter II
