Soul Breaker

Kamael Classes Started Last reply 11 posts
So, does anyone have an input on how the various soul breaker abilities work in pvp? How about for pve?
Solo PvE, so far at the moment i only use my Spells to pull mobs because i am far too lazy to move my character ^_^

Sadly my Kam only made 56 on the PTS as i didnt have much time to play due to work, so i didn't get a chance to try out 'Blink' which from what i gathered is s'pose to be one of the Soulbreakers bread-and-butter skills.

Contrary to prior popular belief, their low CON doesn't leave Kamael totally gimped, they can hold their own against many opponents without even having to rely on skills.

Despite their high DEX their accuracy is far from amazing but frequent Critical Attacks seem to make up for lost time. Also i love their Maximum Ability passive buff... seems to activate quite often for me and benefits others in my party too.

As for PvP i cannot contribute much as, being a D Grader still, i have few skills and have not yet fully developed into the class i'm aspiring towards. However in the few duels i have had with passing players they seem pretty evenly matched with any other given race, as with anything... better gear usually means you are better off.

I will contribute a more thorough opinion as i level my character further and of course, the more the class levels and develops, the more you grasp a sense of their strengths and weaknesses.

If you want PVP make a Zerker
Zerker's are ok for PvP as long as you can get within range to do your charge. They are great in PvP vs Melee.

SB's are better if they are male since they will have rush, sword shield and strike back.

Arbelester are good as well. You just have to learn to use the tools that you have.

SB and Arbelester are both good in PvP but require some skill to play well. They both offer several tools at your disposal and you'll have to use them to win.

Beserker is more of a dash and smash class. Simpler to play but effective.

So, female Soul Breakers suck? The skills they get as a warder are useless then?
I wouldn't say they suck. The Male skills are just more beneficial to an SB than the female skills. (In regards to PvP)

Warder -> SB
Warp, Some crossbow masteries, lvl 1 increase range, haste 1 self buff.

Trooper -> SB
Strike Back, Sword Shield, Furious Soul, Rush, Might 2 self buff, Courage (Mental Shield) & Disarm
I quote myself from a seperate thread, granted it's not the exact same subject but i think the fundamentals apply:

PvP is one of those things that can be engaged at any level but if by 'useful' you mean 'when do characters flourish,' its usually B Grade+, that is when you get the main bulk of your classes skills, and usually when you can implement them in combat more effectively ^_^

what is strike back again?

what is strike back again?

A toggle that reflects melee skill damage back to the attacker.
I tested it dozens (hundreds of times?) no dmg returned, must have an insanely low chance to return dmg :p.
Also, about Blink, it does not teleport you to the target, but if engrossed in enemies it allows you to move back while stunning the opponent, good to escape ?
I've never seen the damage done by a reflect damage skill in my combat log. Unless it changed since I played my DA.

I have seen screenshots of combat logs showing damage returned by strike back.
