Hey guys, Im a new player to L2 and started at the end of October with some friends. Ive reached lvl 44 as a Necromancer and wanted to get some help on the best xp/mana areas.
I found some great areas myself but really would like someone to expand the list to the later levels.
Leveling from 39 to 41 I hunted in the Fields of Silence. Targetting the Ogres and avoiding the snipers. There was one sweet spot where I could loop around 1 shotting ogres with Blaze one after another and getting around 2100xp for each of them. By the time I reached the end of the loop, the start has respawned. Took me about 40 minutes and I level'd.
For 41 to 43 I was grinding just below the Hunters Village on Bugbears and Timal Orcs. 2 Shots for 2700xp. Not the best, but they also dropped Brig Helms and other goodies every now and then. The respawn time was nice as well.
For 43 to 44 I went to the Leto Lizardmen Plains below Oren. I went around 2 shotting the warriors and shamans, but found myself wasting mana on the Leto Overlords. I found a nice spot just doing a small loop in the field where the Raid boss is for the Leto. That little field was nice, but I really think there much be a better place to nuke.
So thats all I have, if anyone can add to this I would be very happy. I want to get more powerful and eventually take over the world =]
It seems you should try just around ivory tower (NOT THE PIT UNDERNEATH)...kill the bugbears and formers around the tower (I believe the south side is the lower area) they drop herbs..I leveled there till 5x on m necro
Im at 46 now, the top of Ivory Tower was great. Easy to kill, except when I pulled 4 at once in close proximity. I also spent a little time at the bugbears and tamlin orcs near the Hunters Village. Not bad, and nothing aggro's although the orcs will backup each other.
I am heading to Outlaw Forest now.
Also the 1 damage and half damage chance is countered by the amount of critical attacks im doing. I find it even out ok. Annoying and I would love to choose no crits and no misfires if I had the choice while PvE, Im not finding it too hard.
Ill let you know how it goes.
Well, i was at aligator's isle from 41-49, then i moved to forsaken plains ( i loved it at the old times) and then at about 58lvl i moved to VoS.I stayed there till 72lvl.. I went then at Forest Of Dead (but not for long time cause the mobs that do offer nice xp have dark attack resistance) so i cdl at shrine of loyality.I am now 74 and still duo at shrine. But i like a lot going at catas. Cursed man,a dagger(i mean a dagger-class fighter),a prophet (slave if you can or active),a SE (again slave or active) and if you can a bd (not have to).You can form a party with Dagger-necro-SE or Dagger-Necro-Prophet or Dagger-Necro-Warcryer. All these combinations are nice. The concept is Dagger-Necro-Buffer at cata..Really nice parties. It's a great party offering a lot of xp and drops-adena-sealed stones. Also, some nice parties at Anthara's Lair. TOI is great for parting,MOS is a paradise. Ketra is nice to go with a SE for lvl up and ofc questing.Rift is always a nice choice.
And an advice: When you go to places where mobs have dark attack resistance, your act like a summoner.Cursed Man summoned and all time debuffing..That's what you should do.Anchor-silence-sleep-fearcurse discord and ofc gloom for the other nukers :)
People can u tell me of a place that has decent-xp giving one hit mobs.? I mean I used to xp on breka before 40 and the overlords gave me 2320 with one hit. I wear Karmian, have a Homu ACU+4 and will be boxed with a 43lvl (empower lvl 1 or 2) SE! Tried alligator island. I need 2 shots for 2200+ smth from alligators and 3 shots for 5k+from Crokian Lads.
Or at least mobs that give twice the BREKA overlords XP with two shots. I cant waste money on ss.
72 = 74 = Forest of the Dead (Near the Port-In is Fine)
74 - 77 = Hot Springs (+1 your CDL @ 76, will make you able to kill longer before B2M'ing)
77+ = Hot Springs until the mobs start degrading, then get an AM/Acumen, +3 it, and put a few Dark Stones on it and 2 shot mobs on Isle of Prayer. (+3 You Death Spike before going IMO)
If you get bored easily, reroll before it's too late, to something like SH or SPS. Necro is terrible PvE, not because it sucks at it, but because of such few choices and having to go where the mobs are just not friendly to you. I wish there was a better place than FoTD from 72-74 because of the Dark Resist Mobs, but quite frankly, it is the fastest XP there is - it's just expensive as hell since 2/5 of the mobs are Dark Resist and thus 3 shot. Night Time is just **** XP, though. 3% a buffround in 72, ~2.25% a buffround in 73, and about 1.5% a buffround in 74 if you recharger is high enough to ensure no downtime. CDLing at HS becomes better XP @ 74, and you should move there if it's not overcamped on you server.
I did Half of 72.5 - 74 in FoTD in 3 days. You can probably get to 75 in Hot Springs with my types of playtimes in same amount of time if you have a high recharger (68+) and a 52+ Prophet to Zerk you (put a SoES/BtB on the prophet, and forget about leveling it higher if you want). I wouldn't go without Zerk. A Lagspike can kill you, and CDL can fail now even 3 times in a row I have found out many times. Zerk allows you to absorb like 3 failures with CDL. You can CDL all day with not much downtime between Elixirs and Invocation (+B2M) and get about 30% a day easily there (in 74). I reckon 20% a day in 75 should be easy with that setup (meaning 74-76 in like 8 days or so if you're fairly hardcore).
- Demon Robes until B Grade with an Acumen Weapon
- Avadon Robes in B Grade if you're hunting Lower Areas, Zubei if you're moving to VoS
- You can do 52-61 fast in either Avadon or Zubei
I tended to level faster with Zubei, because it let me move deeper in a skill level earlier than Avadon. Cast speed was never a problem, and shouldn't be if you level a Prophet up since Zerk will make up the difference in cast speed between Avadon and Zubei.
CDL Trick - Gloom and CDL cost same MP, but Gloom is much faster cast + there is no reuse when you use different skills in succession. Learn the mobs you are killing, and how many shots it takes to kill them with and without Gloom at various HP levels. Sometimes you can Gloom - CDL - CDL and kill the mob instead of 3 CDLs. That makes it much safer, and will allow you to absorb an additional failure should they happen before the mob gets to you.
Do this to all mobs except the Yetis - they have more HP and it's just not worth it to end up wasting a shot/MP when you regen 14 HP and mess it all up :P
if you can have empo 3, here is a slightly different method for those who don't want to waste near 600-700ad / shots (that's the price of DS with BSpS ^^)
- 40-44 Timak Orc solder/archer (south oren)
- 44-49 Stay INTO the crater of IT, hurting the enchanted gargoyles
Method :
- curse gloom / SS / blaze (yes blaze, not Death Spike !)
Result :
- OS
Gain :
between 2.9k and 3.3k XP with 400-800ad / mob ..
Nice places to "make" money to buy cursed bones for later hurting with DS.
little slower but i money saving hurting place with not that bad XP ^^

It depends on how rich you are, because if you SE isn't in top B Grade (read: Blue Wolf Robe Set) you will be wasting quite a bit of time and MP. Curse Gloom is the same MP Cost as a debuff or Main Nuke of another nuker, and Blaze is more MP cost than Death Spike at level 44 . You are basically wasting enough MP to cast an additional Death Spike, and you are also wasting time whenever the mob is < 750 units away from you.
Gloom = 900 Range, Blaze = 750 Range. Gloom is also near instant cast so you'll still have to run up after the mob is debuffed even if the mob is running Towards you.
Due to the mana inefficiency of your leveling, you will be wasting about as much adena to buy ~1/3 of the Cursed Bones that you need to level with Death Spike.
Death Spike is EXTREMELY MP Efficient, and in PvE MP Efficiency trumps cost especially at low levels when the nuker has a small mana pool.
Depending on herb drops to even things out is a bad choice, so I would not think of doing what you are proposing.
A Necro with good gear can 1 shot mobs in IT Crator with blaze anyways, but having to run the extra 150 units to each mob wastes too much time and factorably effects you grind speed in a negative way.
I've tried it.
Death Spike only hurts monetarily if you are very gullible with how you spend your adena.
From 52-79 you can basically level primarily using CDL, so cost never really is an issue for the conscientous (?) player. Only those that like to level AFK are forced to endure the rigors of Death Spiking most of their levels.

- as i told before, i didin't use DS... so I didn't waste adenas bying them :)
- I don't thing that OS mobs using 3BSPS is a waste of adenas :)

- up to you.. I made it and propose it that's all :) . Sure i
- all spot listed drops mana pot and
- I didn't say that i lvl up fast... i just say i level up without wasting money, and more.. earning money ^^

tssssss. I'm talking about don't waste money, you are talking about waste of time... come on ^^ that's a Non ended games loool

don't get me wrong, i just annotate your comment with my feeling, not a personnal attack buds :) we are all on the same ship ^^
My advices - play always in party. Find EE friend to level together.
40-50 Ivory tower
50-56 fp
56-74 vos (the last mobs in VoS even if they are blue gives u better xp per hour than FoTD)
74-78 varka/ketra and HS
78 + MoS (when u got arcane power it is way easier and way cheaper) MoS exp is good at pre 78 but too expensive.
But do not forget to lvl in party. Beeing in party is the most succesfull and fastest way to level any class.

40-50 Ivory tower
XP at IT above level 44 sucks too much.
Move to Outlaw Forest and level there until level 52.
50-56 fp
No. Move to Valley of Saints at 52. FP cannot compete with VoS for a nuker at this level, especially with the mob density at the front in the first "cave" area... My roomate (a necro) tried leveling there and it was noticeably slower than VoS. VoS is just more risky, but the risk:reward in terms of XP gain is more than worth it.
56-74 vos (the last mobs in VoS even if they are blue gives u better xp per hour than FoTD)
Erm... VoS is crap XP at 72-74. Leave Valley of Saints and goto Forest of the Dead. Level in the front area or through the field where the rock is off the cliff (that's a good spot). You will level faster in FoTD than in Valley of Saints, and you don't have to run so much to boot. I was getting 30-35% a day in FoTD 72-74.
74-78 varka/ketra and HS
The only reason to be in Varka or Ketra in the 74/75 levels is to do the Alliance Quest that you need for third class change. Other than that, they are not optimal. Too much MP Drain at those levels. At levek 76+ you can get an S Grade weapon (which can be attributed) and you have Vortex and the option to +1-3 you Death Spike which makes it more efficient. You can also wear Arcana Robe set.
When giving leveling spots in this type of thread assume the person will be running with just an SE. You are giving spots that you seem to have done with something like 2 Rechargers and a PP and/or BD. Most players don't care about such spots, because most players do not have access to those kinds of buffs/recharges.
Varka/Ketra with a SOM to go through the entire 74/75 levels? Lol... You will level twice faster sticking to Hot Springs CDLing.
78 + MoS (when u got arcane power it is way easier and way cheaper) MoS exp is good at pre 78 but too expensive.
Arcane Power is only a good tactic there if you have a high level EE and SE for recharges, and probably a Prophet and/or BD too. It makes you hit harder but it rapes your mana efficiency... Not everyone can afford to play a thousand buffers, and that is not an average setup for most players (most nuker mains have only 1 recharger, and SE or EE - but mostly an SE).
But do not forget to lvl in party. Beeing in party is the most succesfull and fastest way to level any class.
No, it's not. Not until very high levels. Parties are pretty useless to join 1-77 or so for any nuker class. NCSoft has sought fit to make AOE leveling more work than it's worth anymore.
But if you want to take much longer to get to 77 feel free to listen to Maya and goto those crappy levleing spots, over-farm certain areas past the optimal levels, and run around in parties getting paltry XP at these "lower" levels.
I understand why you are saying that (to encourage people to party), but be aware that most of the higher levels in L2 are very focused on Min/Maxing and as a result they will not invite a necro into their party. I have been turned down for parties because I didn't have an S Grade weapon, and the offenders were not joking either...
40-50 Ivory Tower
50-56 FP or Pavel Ruins
56-72 or 74 VOS
72-77 Shrine of Loyal CDL and Varka and BS
77+ IOP
IT is too crap at 44+. I guess you guys are meaning the higher level parts of it but the XP is inferior to mobs in Outlaw Forest that can be 2 shot at level 44 with Death Spike. It's not worth it to overstay you welcome.
Outlaw Forest is very good for 44-52, and it is out of Oren which means that you will be able to port easily back and forth to Hardin's Private Academy, Giran, Aden, and Rune for anything you'd need.
VoS is the optimal leveling grounds from 52-72.
FoTD > Shrine at 72-74. CDLing those mobs is an unnecessary risk, and the amount of lifeless players there that grief you is not worth it. Why go be frustrated for less XP when you can goto FoTD at the front and have those spots to youself all day.
74-77 I'd do Hot Springs. It is optimal, but you will have to do a portion of 74 and/or 75 in either Ketra or Varka because you need the Alliance Quest level 2 for third class change. Ketra's layout is more nuker friendly if you are going to solo it. There are too many lifeless running around Varka for my likes (much much less than Ketra on both the servers I've played on). Ketra also involves less travel time, Lol.
77+ Isle of Prayer is a very good choice. Much better than Monestary of Silence, Lol.
that's it!! you always want to level FASSSTTTTT...
tssssss. I'm talking about don't waste money, you are talking about waste of time... come on ^^ that's a Non ended games loool
This game is about leveling fast. That's why the grind is there. To challenge players and make them feel accomplished when they get to high level and start getting through those levels. That is why level is such an important stat in these type of games, and terms like "bluebie" and "lowbie" were invented :)
Being low level hurts when you get left behind and cannot effectively play with others of a higher level, also.
You can always go too fast and wait, but it's hard to go too slow and expect others to wait for you :)
just ding 52, gone for CDL now :)
don't get me wrong, i just annotate your comment with my feeling, not a personnal attack buds :) we are all on the same ship ^^
Oh just one thing. VoS and FoTD have been changed slightly since CT2. Mobs there now have a chance to use soulshots, so be prepared to be a LOT more dangerous. Especially FoTD, since mobs there are undead and the Necro nukes don't do as much damage as they do to normal mobs or holy mobs.
You gotta be REALLY careful around VoS too, since if one of those mobs get you on a soulshot use, they will one-shot you. It happened to me on my lvl 66 Necro on the PTS.

1. Necro will level in the first part of Forest of the Dead. Those mobs are easy to kill and most of them are 2 shots with Empower. A few require Berzerker Spirit 2 to two shot them. At night time, every single mob should be 2 shot with just Empower.
2. You can only get 1 shot in Valley of Saints by a mob unless:
- You are in a Demon Robe Set at B Grade or above.
- A Flash of Splender M.Crits you with Soulshots and its Inferno Nuke.
- Blade of Splender Criticals you with its Dagger skill and a Soulshot.
You can buy a Ghoul Staff from the store in Aden and put the Blessed Body 4 SA on it. It is hard to get 1 shot in either of those areas at the respective levels.
Between SE's Greater heals, Bless the Blood, and Purify on top of [Greater] Healing Potions and Elixir of Health... It's really really hard to die unless you are really careless and don't pan your screen around to see when mobs spawn.
Oh don't get me wrong. I can currently two shot even the higher level mobs in VoS at lvl 55. But it's still dangerous if you get one of those magic critting you. Or the melees, even, they can pretty much 3 hit you at this level.
But remember that not everyone has an SE available. And if you're really soloing (with no SE's or buffs or whatever), it can get nasty if you're not really careful.
I had a +6 Homu acumen
+3 karmain set
Adventurer buffs
level 49 Necromancer
most mobs were 2 shots, wisdoms were 3 shots
after picking up empower 3 herbs which dropped enough to be constant, everything was a twoshot with death spike.
Heh how long did you hunt? Did you give them a chance to hit you?
It's all fine and dandy there, really. Two-shot everything, you can even use a summon for extra safety. Until you stop paying attention and they get to hit you. That's when they two-shot you instead ;)
It's still a great place for a Necro to level and I've been leveling mine there. You just have to be extra careful now from CT2 cause they will OFTEN use shots there. So it's all fine till they get to you. Then that's when things get nasty.

SE doesn't really matter.
The herbs that drop now are very comprehensive and last 5 minutes.
The biggest boon to an SE is the recharge and the buffs, and you get those until level 62.
SE heal will not stop you from getting 1 shotted by a Blade's Crit backstab or a Flash's Crit Inferno nuke.
The point of leveling as a nuker is not to let things hit you, because you are a low armor class. If you are getting routinely meleed upon by Blade of Splendor then you need to sit back and think about how you are going about killing them.
I used to CDL in Valley of Saints, and many other people recommend that type of leveling there which pretty much negates all you arguments regardless of which chronicle they leveled in because any SH or Necro CDLing in VoS is a 1 shot to anything that touches them.
You need to learn how to not attack mobs in a way that will cause them to social agro or warp on top of you at times that will kill you.
CDLing was very nice because when you 1 shot the Blades they don't have a chance to port on you on the second nuke due to the fact that you won't have to nuke the first form again after the second one spawns...
Doesn't matter if he gave them time to hit him or not - you aren't supposed to let them hit you. Doesn't matter how long he hunted there :) Nothing changes depending on how long you hunt there, unless you make critical errors that can kill you (like attacking a Blade while a Flash is standing next to it, casing the blade to port on you while the Flash runs up and starts nuking you, etc.).
I leveled in VoS some on my SE in Inquisitor stance to test it out after the update. She didn't have any issues there and they have worse surviveability (by far) than any nuker (they can't even battle heal themselves in Inquisitor stance, cast slower, have lower M.Atk, can't drain, lower nuke range, etc.).
I started doing VoS at level 49. At that level you can easily be 1 shot by a crit from a Blade or Flash because you have C Grade gear. Both your P.Def and M.Def is pitiful... Once you get in B Grade gear that becomes really rare if you know how the place works. In A Grade, it's an afterthought...
When I leveled my Necro, I went from 49-58 in Valley of Saints before I stopped leveling it to level an SE up because I was tired of asking for buffs. I hardly died, and even if you get 1 shot, the XP at those levels is SO GOOD that it's almost worth a few deaths, unless you have so little adena that you cannot afford DP scrolls when you get that.
Once you get to A Grade, cost should become a non-factor because you can grab the quest from the front and turn that in everytime you finish it. If you are leveling a buffer along with the nuker, the benefits are 2 fold cause the buffer won't even be spending adena (don't need shots to buff and recharge).
Would I still recommend people goto VoS at 48 like I used to? Ummm... No, Lol. The Flash crit more and even thought he damage is now 3x the M.Def on C jewels is not high enough to mitigate it below 1 shot level unless you twink with very high Enchanted Jewels... The P.Def on Demon Robes along with the -270 HPs will let a blade 1 shot you 50% of the time it does it's dagger skill.
I do not believe that a Necro was 2 shotting mobs in Valley of Saints at level 49 with a +6 Homu with a Karmian set because I've taken 2 Necros through Valley of Saints (my roomate kinda quit his Necro but I used it alot on Bartz to PL my alts/buffer through there) and it was impossible to 2 shot mobs there with that kind of gear. I have tried similar setups and you couldn't 2 shot the second form-Blade or the Wisdom of Splendor unless you had Empower and Zerk with that kind of gear. I had a much better setup than that (as did my roomate, since I passed down alot of my gear to him), and was unable to achieve that kind of proficiency without buffs.
NCSoft did no major changes to the mobs in Valley of Saints, so Chronicle or PTS/Live isn't really a factor. My SPS sub still hunts in VoS and no change was made to the mobs' M.Def in the update. The only thing that really changes was the variable nuke damage and UD mechanisms in the game now...
I think you were thinking in Fast Forward if you remember 2 shotting all those mobs with that kind of gear, which is... very inferior M.Atk to the Demon Set/+10 Homu Setup I was using...
Heh how long did you hunt? Did you give them a chance to hit you?

the worst trouble i got in was when I hit a blade by accident who was next to a flash and then next thing I know 2 blades are up on me and 1 is just sitting with the flash.
Now you'd think thats game over right? especially in...C grade? in a A grade hunting spot? LOL
I quickly gloomed and feared the first blade, gloom and anchor the 2nd, then I gloomed and drain and DS the flash, then 1 clone hated me and another clone was running to me, so I DS 2x the clone on me, and I gloom and Drain and DS the 2nd clone, then the feared blade came back and I DS 2x it dead. And I had bout 70% hp left and lost 15% mp and was down to like 40%.
If you take to the situation calmly and effectively, death is once again avoided, Those 2 days of constant PVP helped alot as I know exactly what to do in any given situation.
Sadly I died in a bad way 2 hours later, I get a flash to spawn near me and I DS it and do 0 damage, then it Magic crits me and it's hands flashed so i assumed that was a SPS Magic Crit, which 1 shotted me >.<
What you probably seen was a Spiritshot Graphic. I think the mobs there can also use spiritshots now. Their XP seems to have gone up as a result of it. A little more dangerous, but seems they give a bit more reward (in XP) for that risk.
ahhh ok i just couldnt see why it wouldnt be a choice set. its a very good point
Avadon > Zubei for VoS (if that's where you're leveling in B Grade).
The -3 WIT on Doom makes it less useful, and the -1 WIT -270 HP [on top of C Grade P.Def] on Demon makes it less useful as well... Yea, your M.Atk owns with it. You surviveability takes quite a bit hit as well.
MOBs do too much damage in VoS, and the chance of being crit by a mob (Blade Melee or Flash Nuke) is high. The Flash mobs there (who nuke for ALOT with Inferno) buff themselves with Empower and Wild Magic. They crit more than the average nuker mob (alot more, actually), which don't usually have those buffs. If you watch them spawn or sit out of agro and watch one you can see them buff or rebuff themselves with it. I think they also buff other mobs near them (or that they path near), but I'm not sure on that.
There is alot of Nuker, Bleed, Poison, Backstab/Taunt/Bluff ( or whatever... the Blades can make you turn around before they backstab you, like a real Dagger) action in VoS, and if you only have 1 buffer (SE or EE) OR no buffer at all, Demon is the last set that I'd want to you leveling with in Valley of Saints.
I have to agree with Trensharo here... I tested the Demon set at first when I started leveling in VoS, and the magic attack doesn't compensate the castspeed of Avadon in that place.
There were times I've saved myself exactly because of my Avadon + SoV with acumen. It's still a dangerous place in any case, and I would rather cast faster and make sure they die far away, than allow them to reach me and one-shot me because I couldn't cast in time.
Oh well, I didnt even read the other posts :p If you speaking about VoS, yeah, Avadon > Demon. I usually grind without buffs (just the selfbuffs and acu2 pots :P) so with Demon my casting speed was kinda crappy (using a SoES and no tatoo ^^). Though I used Demon sometimes once I got my Acu weapon and +4 WIT tat, but I needed to be carefull with blades and such.
Anyways, with the new mob UD and ss/sps use you need a noticeable boost in casting speed and as Trensharo said, Demon Set wont grant you a high survability. Low pdef, less HP and way less casting speed than Avadon.
hum.. quite a lot of point of view about VoS!
For my part, and until now and what I have seen I don't die so often in VoS :
As I still < to A grade, I use demon set + Sov+3acu + buff SE 58 + buff adventurer guide.
I 2shots every mobs using DS being hitted not that much. (blade/flash/anger etc..) so why should I take another set ? :)
As soon as you can kill fast, i.e. make enough dammage, and you know how to use CLD (when you are hitted) you don't need cast speed that much...
I planned to stay in demon till... long time... gonna grab some +INT dye, Matk talisman SE buff A level, Acu pots and FdS acu at A level and that will make it anyway ^^
So without disagree with everyone, just level up with an SE, and you don't really need any expensive B armor using DS. Stay in Demon...
NOTE :
I dunno about CDL in VoS and how risky it is. Maybe in that configuration, you should have to take cast speed into account.. and there, maybe all your recommendations are true ^^.
but as long as you DS, i don't see the usage of any +WIT armor to PVE there...
Nevertheless Just don't play alone... that's a mmo and assist ppl liked to be grouped :p
Come back when you are 62+, don't have any newbie buffs (SEs don't have Magic Barrier), and move beyond the entrance areas.
You can't be any further in with that gear at that level, so you have not experience the risk that we are talking about in this thread.
CDLing in VoS is not pssible in VoS from 61-66 IMO. The good areas there that you will do those levels in are conjested with agro nuker mobs and group mobs. It's too dangrous.
FoTD and Cemetery.... since update it's a waste of bones/mp/time to go there.
Depending on your gear/setup, 58-75 you can do in Valley of the Saints (they are dark weak); or you can take the Quest in Ivory Tower early and try Blazing Swamp at 60ish for reagents.

With Black Ore Jewels... Just make sure you don't get nuked, I guess. Flash and the group MOBs have a high M.Crit rate since they buff themselves Empower and Wild Magic. Blessed Body is not an SE or Caster Newbie Buff.
Correct. I'm assuming that the SE is near the Necro's level, and in that case - No Magic Barrier unless you have a Prophet, War Cryer, or Overlord to buff it.
40-44 IT Crater is a good spot, but I'd stay on top, better mob density and not much running. You're limited to Blaze in those levels and since it's a D Grade skill it has 750 Range. Go where the mobs are closest together :) Can do that in a few hours.
You went to some bad places after that. A bunch of Dark Resist places. From 44-72 you only level in two places: Outlaw Forest (to 52 if you want to be safe for VoS) and Valley of Saints (to 72).
Then Forest of the Dead until 74, and Hot Springs until 77 (CDLing). I guess there are other places you can go in 7x like Blazing Swamp and Shrine (I did 76-77 there in 6 days wiht a 66 OOP SE recharging for 101 MP, and half of the mobs being 3 shots due to Dark Resist).

did for cursed bones from nebulite orbs

i didn't fight any dark resist, at DV nothing was dark resist unless you went near AL, cemetary didn't have dark resist mobs either, i went to outlaw forest but i never liked that place on any character so..., VOS im starting at b grade for 2 shotters

I haven't used Body to Mind since, like, C Grade. yea mp herbs ftw

There are many Dark Resist mobs in Cemetary. I did 2 Necros in Cemetary (skipping the Dark Resist and just killing the Orcs) as well as my SPS sub (which leveled fast by 1 shotting with his 2 overhit nukes all of the Dark Resist mobs).
The Nebulite orb quest... It is cheaper to get Enchants from it and just sell them while you buy cursed bones. It doesn't give enough Cursed Bones to even be a factor, and the Cursed Bones are cheap, anyways...
I think I was thinking of Dragon Valley when I wrote about Death Valley (if that is what you said/meant). I don't even remember where Death Valley is, or know if I've ever been there. It's been almost 2 years since I've been level 4x on a necro and I've found more optimal places to level since then.
Replying with a different color inside of a quoted post is pretty annoying.
demonset +10 homu no emp and ur set get a buffalo to replenish ur lost life when using b2m
mine was lvl 80 when i reached 61 hehe
dunno but 16k exp doesnt sound horrible to me for 2 shoots without vita
deathspike the connabi wait 1 sec and corpseburst the rest save and relaxing
back in the days u could make 200-300 medals on a normal day with results in 2-5m adena ewc jewlery eac high mats ect
today it sucks bad droprate for medals failing nukes half kills and the list goes on
However, being a SH level 67 & hunting in VOS. The enterance was easy & you only had to worry about 1 arggo mob.
Now I'm leveling deeper in VOS. (because the enterance is green/blue to me)
Wow big difference. You have to be really careful & everything is either in groups or arggo.
You can't use CDL, like before. When you pull, it wont be just 1, it will be about 3 & possibly only 1-2 melee, the other mobs are like the flash guys, who stand & shoot flames etc..
I suggest having a SE with you if you can. (I can't) :(
Or if no heal (and no newb buffs) carry a lot of pots both normal & GHP.
(I use the normal when I have to BTM) Keeps my health up, so if I get a magic crit it's not a 1 shot, dead. Lol
Died there 4 times yesterday, wasn't pretty :( Especially leveling with no vit.

I had a +10 Homu when I was leveling up.
I have a +8 Homu, a +10 SoV, and a +8 SoV also (not since then) and a 6x Necro to use them with. It doesn't work like that on those AoE MOBs out of Oren.
Weapon doesn't matter, those mobs die in one shot, they are 1/2 XP. The time it takes you to pull and kill a group, I can kill 2 mobs with Acumen/Zerk/Karmian or Avadon/Acumen SA Weapon. It is not great XP, IMO.
Also, you cannot pull 4 groups and 2 shot the 4 gruops, because there are caster mobs in those groups. You will have to kill your groups, and then 1-2 shot the caster mobs (depending on what kinda gear you have). If you pull 4 groups, you can bet on at least 3 caster mobs coming with them. I have tried in on SPS that doesn't need to kill mobs to AOE too (and have 3 AOEs at B Grade).
Your buffalo is liable to get agro and die from the heals, because the casters will assist on it when it heals you... I hear they pull a lot of agro, too...
Nice stories, but my experience tells me that they are not 100% accurate.
16k XP is 1.5 MOB kills in VoS, so someone can eclipse that XP rate if they have Acumen and Zerk in full casting speed A Grade Set (DC Robes, +4 WIT, Acumen, Zerk, +++SoV or +3 SoM/Acumen, Emp). The MOBs in VoS give like 9-11k+ XP (without Vitality) once you move to the middle (which you do around level 60). If you can camp the first cave in the front of VoS safely (have at least one Healer/Recharger and Acumen/Zerk/M.Barrier/Empower), you should be able to level faster than you can at those AoE camps (since you should always have a MOB to kill).
There are good places to AoE. Just not that one, and at that level. Wouldn't even bother doing it on an ES either, TBH (I've tried that also).

You can CDL at VoS, you just can't CDL from 60 to 66/68.
I don't recommend it, though. There are camps in VoS where a 67 SH can level and not have to worry about group MOBs (two camps, actually). Those two are by the ramp (you should know what I mean, before the bridge in between the back and Barakiel), just ignore the lower level mobs on the other side. If the group MOBs are near the edge, then Kill the group mobs until they spawn on the other side of their area, away from you, and then just kill the random singles as XP MOBs. The top has more MOBs, but is bigger. I prefer the top, though, especially for CDLing. There are no Walls to hide agro MOBs if you are leveling in that fashion. Space is king when CDLing.
SH have a harder time in VoS, cause they cast slow as hell.
On Necro I could kill 2 mobs before the groups got a nuke off (so I only got nuked by one mob). On SPS with Acu/Zerk I could kill them all before getting nuked ~55% of the time. It all depended on how far the MOBs ran up, or how quickly they "realized I was killing them."
MOBs M.Crit more now, so taking less of those nukes heightens you survival chances dramatically.
If you have no buffers, I would evaluate other options for leveling (there are other spots), IMO; and, I have not had this problem of getting that many adds consistently.
Learn to target MOBs that aren't standing by many others, and learn to kill MOBs fast enough that they won't bunch up so much.
You have to cover your whole area, because in a lot of the VoS camps mobs can spawn across the field and bunch up if you are not paying attention or trying to grind lazily. There are also the MOBs that port across the area if you do not kill them fast enough after they spawn, which can lead to bunching (and multiple of those getting agroed is very BADDDD!).
??? why nice story ? i did it till they turned deep blue
nowdays u cant do it anymore
btw connabis arent aggro and i was refering to the 2 shot part of 1 group getting 4 together is easy with an es but not with a necro
and raising normal pets to 80 wasnt a big deal in c4
dont be so harsh to everyone
it was a great way to get money hunting

On the group mobs, i like to silence the ring leader "XXX of Splendor" (because he has no melee) and kill the other two w/o taking damage when it's them and another mob or two by them

I level at the top. Yesterday I had no problems, as long as I left the group of "Judges" alone & I found they didn't argo, unless I attacked one of them in the group.
I use greater haste pots & I have acumen on my SOM, so my casting speed is decent.
I also keep my SH on "walk," so that my MP has a chance of regenerating with out running out quicker then my buffs.
Quick question though. If an "Alliance Splendor" is near the group of "Judges", if I argo the "Splendor" will it cause a chain reaction & argo the group of "Judges"?
Also, I am currently using Death Spike to attack everything, because it cost less MP. Should I be using Hurricane instead & will it kill things in 1-2 hits, instead of 1-3 hits? (being a stronger skill), but cost me more MP?
outside oren was 48-50 ish it was quick and didnt do the mage mobs they thinned out the most now tho there were much more b4 also when frozen labs had crazy xp untill they changed it was nice to do the grp mobs they would give 8k each mob with 1 ds and corpse doing 2 grps at the same time but ye vos all the way to go till like 70 ish

In the trio nuker groups, the leader argos. (the leader has no melee, using silence is like anchoring it)
Everything is social... VoS is social...Everyone will gank you.
Hurricane and Deathspike, Should have the same power on the same learn level unless you have seed of wind on you? or using surrender?
Hurricane=cost efficient, Deathspike=mana efficient
When I'm at VoS, I level with my kookaburra out, all it needs is top jewerly to take some accidental hits. I get buffs and recharges from it, its like a boxed SE without having to click macros. Just level and it does its job. With recharges and mp pots, i could use vamp claw all day and not have to B2M or sit.

HAHA thats what I do, use "the claw" :), then use my little health pots to keep my health up at the same time!
I have seed of wind, but is it word buffing myself with seed of wind & using hurricane & possibly kill the mob with like 1 hit (sometimes) or stick with Death Spike?
Hmm.. Thats weird, I've ran past the group of "Judges" before & never argo?!?
Problem being with the bird, isn't there a big chance of it argoing mobs & then dying in 1 hit, because it's not meant to get hit?
In all honesty, if you're leveling with Vampiric Claw only, that's the worst effective way ever. Especially without any sort of buffs/recharges.
The thing about VoS is to be careful what you nuke. If you nuke one, and there are 4 around, you'll get 5 on you and you'll die. If you're too worried about not nuking the nuker ones in time (at first, when you're learning your way around, it can be hard), silence them first, then nuke. Once you get familiar with the place, it's not necessary to silence them anymore (you can save the extra mana).
Without buffs, though, I'd simply avoid anything to do with the mob groups. And yeah, Judges and Pilgrims (the group mobs) are aggro. The main one (Pilgrim of Splendor, Judge of Splendor) is the aggro one, but attacking any of the group ones will bring you the rest on you. And they hurt.
If you're buffless, I suggest getting acumen pots at least. You can try using your Death Spike since it's a dark nuke and you'll do more damage with it than with hurricane, or you can try a hurricane/death spike combo. The ones that nuke hard are the Flashes of Splendor at the first level, the Shouts of Splendor at the second level and the Signets of Splendor at the third level. Signets and Wisdom (1st level) have the flame DoT so be careful with that too. Blades (1st level), Punishments (2nd level) and Wailings (3rd level) are the ones that become two mobs once you hit them, they also teleport around. So prepare to be fast, since once you're done with one, the other will teleport itself next to you. And they have a high crit rate.
But with a SH and without ANY sort of acumen, you might have a harder time there. Get at least acumen pots...

Thanks guys :)
Val ---> I already mentioned in my above post, that I get "greater haste pots" that are, I believe the acumen pots! (eff 3 casting speed) I also have the faster movement speed pots as well.
I also, don't just use the vamp claw, I only use it when I want to regenerate my health (if it's gotten low) or if I've btm & want the hp back.
I always use death spike.
Yesterday in VOS, I was in a party with an EE & I was killing non stop, with out even needing a rest, it was awesome :)
Then after the EE left I agro the "Judge of Splendor" DOH :( I died & decided to log out for the night!
I've been suggested by the clan member to try "Garden of Beast" I think I may give that a try tonight, even though I've heard that a lot of bots are there?!?
Yeah there are lots of bots at Garden of Beasts. At least in my server, but I think that's an overall thing...
And I myself treat Vamp Claw as an emergency "OMG I'm gonna die" kind of skill. You guys (SH) have it better because I have one nuke I can use, and the OMG I'm Gonna die skill. SH's have the hurricane/death spike combo that can come in really useful in VoS without having to wait for one nuke to cool down.
VoS can be the perfect exp until like 72, really, but it depends much on what armor/weapon you're using, what level you are and how careful you are. I only moved to FoTD at 73, to be honest (Thanks to suggestions on another thread, cause I had no clue where to go after VoS became blue).
Let me ask you though, what armor/weapon are you using?

Ya for an SH, we use Cursed Death Link (CDL) as our OMG going to die skill. Lol
I have +3 SOM c/w acumen
Full DC set +3/+3/+3 & DC Shield +3
Maj jewels (neckalace & earrings normal, rings are common)
I can borrow NM from a friend if need be, but will that help any?
I honestly, might just have to stop watching TV when I'm leveling in VOS. Lol
Well, CDL is hardly a "OMG going to die skill", since it doesn't replenish HP. It's more of a "AH, you want to kill me? Take this" skill (I have it too, by the way, as a Necro).
NM won't help you in VoS especially if you don't have buffs. You're fine with your DC, you're already punished with your castspeed for being a DE, if you go NM, you'll die even more often.
I honestly think you should only be more careful. You shouldn't be having that many difficulties there (Even without buffs, I don't think you should be dying so much).
And yes, you gotta stop watching TV while leveling there. Distractions in VoS are BAD.

Yea, I thought Necro's had it, just wasn't completely sure, since I've never played a Necro.
Honestly, I didn't think I should be dying so often either
I only die when I pull those stupid groups of "Judges" & I get a crit, BOOM I'm dead.
I was just wondering. Even though Death Spike is cheaper on MP. Will I last any longer if I use Hurricane (does more damage) because then I could possibly kill in 1 hit, instead of 2? Will the damage difference in skills make a difference, in how fast you can kill the mob?
(I'm not completely worried, so much about MP consumption, because I have mp pots & health pots etc..)
I don't know why you say that Hurricane does more damage than Death Spike. They both have the same power (and I believe KnightOfDarkness pointed it out for you earlier). Hurricane doesn't do more damage, unless you're using Seed of Wind/Surrender to Wind... Actually... Death Spike should do more damage against VoS mobs than Hurricane because Death Spike is a dark nuke and VoS mobs are weak to dark. I haven't tried any other nuke but Death Spike there since I don't have any, but in theory, Death Spike should even be more effective in VoS due to their dark-based element.
Hurricane doesn't do more damage, unless you haven't updated your Death Spike to the same level. They both have the same power.

Hmmm.. I swear I looked at it yesterday and it did more damage, but maybe not!
Yes I have seed of wind!
BTW you're quick to reply, faster then me :)
P.S I'm officially decided to blame my other half for always trying to get me, to look at the TV when leveling in VOS. Lol
outside oren was 48-50 ish it was quick and didnt do the mage mobs they thinned out the most now tho there were much more b4 also when frozen labs had crazy xp untill they changed it was nice to do the grp mobs they would give 8k each mob with 1 ds and corpse doing 2 grps at the same time but ye vos all the way to go till like 70 ish
How do you "didn't do the mage mobs" when the groups spawn with mage MOBs in them. You act like I haven't been going AoE/level there since C5 on an assortment of classes (Necro * 2, ES, SPS, Warlock, EE with Inquisitor AoE). They don't "thin out". The groups spawn and the nuker groups spawn with them. It's like saying the nuker mobs in VoS groups "thin out".
You had Seed of Wind which adds some damage. With Empower and Zerk you should be putting out an extra 2-300 damage per 2 shot. You have to go there and kill a few with Hurricane to see how many shots it will take. 1 shots are Crits. Don't pick spots based on crit 1 shots.
Hurricane=cost efficient, Deathspike=mana efficient
1. Most MOBs that use nukes have range of 600-750 (few have 900 range). If you try to silence it, you will allow the others to start a nuke on you immediately (and you will not interrupt by running out of range). All-in-all stupid thing to do. Nuke from max range and try to kill 2 or them before you get nuked. Sometimes the MOBs are quick to attack you, sometimes you can kill all of them before taking any damage from them.
2. Yes. One of the better spots there have no group MOBs in it, so the player can just get that spot (kill who's there, train them, whatever it's a PvP game and it's what I did when I was leveling there) and level there. At the plateau the only Agro mob is Signet of Splendor. Everything is still social, of course.
3. Hurricane > Death Spike especially at 68+ because Seed of Wind will make Hurricane hit for about 200'ish more than Death Spike on MOBs that with Neutral Resist. Please don't start talking about how the MOBs there are Angels. I have played all but Sorc in VoS and know how much the nukes hit for.
4. True.
Pets have bad mana pools but they are easier to manage because MP herbs hit both the pet and the master. I would do an SE over a Kooka any day. I would only put a Kooka on the SE since they can recharge rechargers. That is more efficient.
Vampiric Claw is a waste of MP unless you're fighting multiple MOBs and need it as an emergency. It's more efficient to just kill the mob and Corpse Life Drain if you're that desperate for HP.
Vamp Claw cost is too high. CLD costs less than a Nuke.
Hmmm.. I swear I looked at it yesterday and it did more damage, but maybe not!
Yes I have seed of wind!
BTW you're quick to reply, faster then me :)
P.S I'm officially decided to blame my other half for always trying to get me, to look at the TV when leveling in VOS. Lol
That's why it does more damage. Seed of Wind and if you use surrrender to wind will make Hurricane hit for more. Analysing the nukes on their own (without surrender and seed of wind), they should have the same power.
What I'm NOT sure of is if the Angel type mobs combined with Death Spike will result in Death Spike hitting for more, EVEN with Seed of Wind. I can't comment on that, so I'll leave it to those that know better.
Seed is a game-changer.
The seed makes the Hurricane do more damage which increases it's MP efficiency.
There is almost no reason to use Death Spike post-68 for SH, because although the MP cost is higher, they are gaining an extra 200'ish damage per nuke which lowers the "effective cost" of the nuke compared to Death Spike.
The only time you'll use it is to exploit MOB Attribute Weakness.
That's why it does more damage. Seed of Wind and if you use surrrender to wind will make Hurricane hit for more. Analysing the nukes on their own (without surrender and seed of wind), they should have the same power.

Surrender is not a PvE skill. It cost the same as a nuke, so you mind as well just nuke again (or throw in an odd Death Spike and save a little MP).
The reason why I do not tell SH to use death spike is not the cost (cause the VoS quest pays for Cursed Bones and then some), but weight.
You can carry about 225% as many shots using hurricane, than with death spike. The Cursed Bones weight '3' at higher levels when the shots weight 2.
That Hurricane with Seed of Wind should do more damage for the SH's, I already figured that out, what I was wondering is about the Dark-attribute vs Dark-weak mobs...
Would Hurricane with Seed of Wind still be more effective, even with Death Spike being dark and VoS mobs being dark-weak? I can only go with theory on this matter, since I haven't tested any other nukes BUT Death Spike there.
PS: Didn't realize the mana cost on Surrender, to be honest. Only tested SH's once on the PTS at higher levels.

My level 57 kookaburra can take about 7-8 nukes from level 64 mobs and about 12 hits from the daggers (not considering their skill attack)
So yea, even if they argo, as a nuker you can quickly kill the argo way before it dies. Also they don't argo the bird much. Next update, they really won't argo the bird.
Also if you can seed of wind, just level with hurricane. The fact is, it hits harder and cost less. I wish I could use another nuke than deathspike on my necro because deathspike adds up in price which is why i have to hunt mobs that are like pink to keep the cost to earn ratio decent.

Mobs in VoS ARE NOT weak to dark... They are Neutral to all magic. I understand where you coming from since alot people think divine=dark weak. they are oly dark weak if it says they are dark weak. Only banish seraph (DA/SK skill) has an effect on their "divineness"
SO with seed of wind adding like 20 wind element, hurricane will hit harder than deathspike unless you got a soulbreaker to give you dark weapon then it will even out again. But even if they were even, I would still use hurricane just because it's more cost efficient.
Also carrying cursed bones suck cause you have to carry alot and they weigh. And when you run out, you can't nuke...period.
Surrender to Wind isn't neccesary unless using it will give you a 1 shot. Other than that you are wasting mp and BSPS.
Surrender to wind has the same mp cost as an equally learned hurricane, the same mp cost as an equal curse gloom. The difference is Surrender lessens elemental resistance to wind, while curse gloom lowers mdef period.
Surrender lets a SH hit harder with hurricane
Gloom lets a Necro hit harder/land more with everything
And, as usual, Gloom>every surrender
Also Gloom stacks with surrender. While Surrenders do not stack with other Surrenders/surrenders make some elemental attacks weaker. For example a SPS and a SORC will not like having each other surrender because one of them will hit weaker while the other stronger.
Yes vamp claw isn't meant to be leveld with, its an emergency skill, but with that setup you basically can level with vamp claw, (I did it for awhile when i ran out of bones...till I ran out of bsps) Also the DPS lowers as the reuse is higher.
With group mobs, all you need is acumen 3 and to take out the leader first. Take out as many as possible because all 3 hitting at once is about 1k damage or more w/o magic barrier or resist fire/wind not considering M.Crits
Deathspike does not hit the mobs harder, they have no resists or weakness to any element.
Overall VoS is a dangerous place because:
Almost every mob nukes
1 type of mob is a dagger that teleports(level 72 dagger skill-shadow step), doublicates with a stronger?????(wtf..same xp) clone, and has a deadly blow type skill
1 type of mob transforms into a panther that uses aggresion and stun (dark panther 2.0?)
there is posion (curable with poision pots that drop
there is flame (uncurable)
posion and flame stacks
Lots of Magic crits
few things are argo
everything...EVERYTHING, is social
group mobs that social
some mobs use surrender to fire
as a nuker...except counter UD again, and again, and again... expect it up to 3 times in a row with other mobs nuking you.
Worst case senario:
You shoot a mob, that argos a bunch of other mobs, a few teleport to you, a panther hate locks you and stuns you while UDing when you shoot it, you get poisoned, flamed, and surrendered, backstabbed, mcrited ...basically you're dead.
But these situations are no different from PvP, gives you a learning experience.
Honestly, I always thought that all Angels were dark weak by default and all demons were dark resist...
That VoS angels aren't dark weak is new to me. Guess we learn something everyday (and I could have sworn I did like a loooot more damage to them. May have been just an impression).

OH Val, you do tons of damage to them either way, you're a Necro :) very powerful! (but has nothing on my SH) hehe, except level of course!

Well the other person has it wrong. VoS MOBs don't have a factorable level of Dark Weakness from my experience (as I've insinuated in the earlier post), but there are some Angel mobs (like in TOI) that are Dark Weak but do not list it.
Hurricane is still > Death Spike for an SH at 68+ and at S Grade the choice must be made.
The cost and weight of using Death Spike just isn't worth it once you get seed and especially at higher levels when you have to spend considerably more time grinding to get small amounts of XP.
Heheh I'm a Soultaker now, finished the class transfer quest earlier today.
But meh... it's still weird. I guess I'd have to roll another nuker to A grade and check if the damage is the same as my death spike lol
The damage of death spike is the same as hurricane (power wise).
However, with seed of wind, hurricane is more powerful.
Anyways I tried leveling in both Garden of Beast, VOS & outside of Goddard lastnight. Same buff pots, equipment, everything.
Garden of Beast - Killing Buffalo's, gave 18k exp (yellow mobs) 3 hits.
Outside of Goddard - Killing Antelopes & Bandserker thingys, gave 18-20k exp (white mobs) 2 hits.
VOS - Killing the Alliance Splendors & Judges, gave 20-22k exp
(white mobs) 1-2 hits.
I found better exp in VOS over these other area's. The down fall is of course, VOS mobs have nukes & crits.
I also got myself the improved bird & what a difference! :)
I had no down time at all, empower & BTB were great to have, & my bird only died once. I recommend anyone who's a nuker & solo's a lot to get one!
port oren go out and take a look
I have. I don't need to go again. 5-6 toons there, I think I know how the MOBs work. It's kinda late now. My nukers are so high that they'd 1 shot all the MOBs even with AoE. With a +10 SoV in B Grade (173'ish M.Atk) my B Grade SPS still couldn't 1 shot them, for reference, until it wasn't really a good spot to XP in anymore. There are many nukers in that spot.
The other mobs are too low level by then. You certainly dont' get 16k a group - that's for sure.
and lol at ur c5Sounding mad. That was [over] 2 years ago? I don't think NCSoft has made any factorable changes to that spot in the last 2 years.
I am talking about the higher level group MOBs, the ones you find when you port into Skyshadow Meadow. The other mobs are level 44-48, and you wouldn't bother leveling on them because there are better places to XP (like Outlaw Forest or Cemetary depending on your buffers).
I did my SPS sub from 40-65 in 4 days and I doubt you can achieve that kinda leveling speed AoEing those Low-XP MOBs. I know, because I've been visiting it since C5, and on many different classes. If it's one thing I know how to do, it's XP, because half my subscription, I have been on break (like I am not, haven't logged in in almost a month except for seige for 1 hour last week). When you do that, you have to be better at getting it back as fast as you can.
But yes, LOL @ my C5.
and buff on dark blade thing buff on like lets say melee toon u see increase of dmg in vosAttribute increase will increase your damage on everything unless it has a lot of resist to that attribute.
Seed of Wind/Water/Fire increases the damage of all nukers in VoS. Go and try with Holy Weapon, and see what happens. You damage will go up. I know, becuase I've tried (Solar Flare/Spark + Holy Weapon).

You're a nuker, so you will be XPing a lot in spots where MOBs have nuke/crits, and where there are group MOBs (3 in a group).
Valley of Saints is the best place at lower levels for a nuker. At 68 you can start doing Forest of the Dead at the "Beach" (think I mentioned that earlier in thread) and it should be good, not as great as VoS (I think), but a welcomed change of pace.
At level 70 you should totall leave VoS for Forest of the Dead (the field across from Zone-In). The best thing about VoS is the amount of leveling areas that have no terrain that block line of sight. Forest of the Dead is frustrating to level in now, because 1/3 of the MOBs are blocked from you by a bump on the ground. At VoS, you brain and muscle memory goes into auto-pilot.

Yes, no bumps in the ground in VOS is a good thing. However, it's so boring to look at, the desert makes me thristy! :p
and wrong on lvls aswell =) as i said go and take alook what types of mobs there r and then talk lowest lvl grp mob there is lvl 50 u get burst at 48 grp is 4 mobs pulling like 3-5 grps 2k xp per mob u with 1 ds and 1 burst

wow
elements on fighters increase damage period. It lowers it if you fight a mob that resists that element. It increases even more on mobs that are weak to that element.
Elements on nukers have to correspond with the specific element their magic has.

You're still missing the point.
Nukers usually level on MOBs above their level until high 6x levels (VoS is yellow/pink to nukers when they start leveling there, as I did on my Necro at level 49...). I can outlevel you on any nuker with 1 recharger and a +8 or higher Homy in other areas. Those group MOBs suck.
I have tried them. You keep acting like you don't know how to read. I've done them on like 5 toons (and 2 Necros). It's a horrible place to AoE because of hte nukers and the stunners. Corpse Burst has a horrible radius, unless the mobs are on you, you run the rist of missing some of them and having to kill MOBs with Death Spike. Nuker MOBs will not get AoE'd unless you run into the groups, because they always keep their range to nuke you.
It's not rocket science. Maybe I'll log in later and Fraps it for you, since you're the one who seems to not have gone there.
holy weap for solar flare/spark no **** its holy atributeThat was precisely my point. Learn to read, PLEASE.
Nukers need to have same element nuke as the buff, fighters get increase on their general melee damage.
Do we play the same game?
The only way to test the dmg increase on a nuker, is to nuke the mob with the buff on, using a nuke of the same element... Holy weapon on a Necro doesn't help you, for example, but a BD just meleeing a MOB will get a damage increase from Holy Weapon, and an even bigger damage increase on MOBs that are weak to holy
The only time you lose damage is if the MOB is strong to that element and you put that element on your neutral weapon. Melee is element-neutral unless you attribute you weapon with stones or buff. Nukes, however, aren't. They have attribute value to them, innately (even if you can't see it). It's what makes Prominence a Fire Nuke, and Death Spike a Dark Nuke. Only Orc Drains are Element-Neutral, as far as "nukes" go.
A Vampire MOB has high Dark Resist, but a Necro with 20 Dark Attribute will still see a Damage Increase, for example. A BD with 20 Dark Attribute Duals may not be so fortunate, because a neutral attack is > a Dark Attributed attack on Vampire MOBs.
Same for Holy Weapon/Solar Flare on Angels. VoS MOBs are classified as angels, but they have no factorable Vulnurability to Dark Element. If you buff with Dark Weapon, you will still see a facrorable damage increase, because any nuker who buffs with seed would also see a similar damage increase. It says nothing about the MOB resists.
There is a huge disparity between nuking a TOI Angel with a Sorcerer or a Necromancer/SH (Death Spike). Same for Monastery of Silence. There isn't really any factorable disparity in Valley of Saints. That is why we tell the other person to use a Seeded Hurricane over Death Spike there.
Learn to play, and you subtle derail really doesn't mean much to me, to be honest.
Whatever you do at that AoE spot doesn't matter, because I am confident I can outlevel anyone who levels there in another field with 1 SE and a +8 or higher Homu on a nuker. Most people who know me will agree with that.
be aware that most of the higher levels in L2 are very focused on Min/Maxing and as a result they will not invite a necro into their party. I have been turned down for parties because I didn't have an S Grade weapon, and the offenders were not joking either...
If thats true, sounds like alot of hi lvl toons, are just way too picky & have too much of a god complex.
& yea somebody is gonna reply & say HB requires an awesome party to survive. Then, il find another clan, party thats not so picky.

I wont disagree with u bout lvling in VoS would be faster but like i said its "FUN" but then again u fail to read that 2 times
Also Pets do not share the herbs with masters only servitors do. So the Kookaburra has to pick up mp himself if he wants the herb
A kookaburra (w/e they called) and a prophet is pretty good actually for a nuker =) u will have 0 downtime in a herb area HS/IoP or w/e

It's not fun to inconsistently corspe burt AOE a group of mobs beating on you with 4-5 nukers firing away, especially since mobs mcrit a lot more now and sometimes use sps.
go ahead and fraps =)
u used solar flare/spark as example with holy weapon its alrdy holy attribute
that's because only holy attributed weapons and holy weapon will boost the power of solar spark/flare so DUH it's holy attributed thats why it can be boosted by holy weapon, you wouldn't used seed of water and expect solar flare to hit harder would you?

If you are hunting in an area that drops herbs, the kookaburra doesn't need any. It uses a low amount of mp to recharge for alot and it regens hp/mp quickly, also with you picking up mp herbs aswell it also gets breaks where it just buffs every 2 min
Pets have bad mana pools but they are easier to manage because MP herbs hit both the pet and the master. I would do an SE over a Kooka any day. I would only put a Kooka on the SE since they can recharge rechargers. That is more efficient.
Imp baby pets have a small mana pool, but they use so little of it for heals/recharges/buffs and regen it very fast. + every 5 levels more buffs, some that SE's don't have...BtS, BtB, acumen, etc...

Or anything in Inquisitor mode, since they can recharge elders (Note to NCSoft: Fix this please.) currently - unless I was told incorrect information the last time I spoke to someone about it.
Bishops are rechargeable, so you could just take an SE or EE OOP and recharge yourself anyways :P
There is nothing wrong with kookaburras recharging Elders. They are npcs, not pcs and their recharge skill is different as someone else has already said.
Their recharge skill is not different. Elders are not-rechargeable because it's how the class is designed. They are rechargers and they should not be able to recharge others while being recharged. This should be fixed. It's pretty simple.
and wrong on lvls aswell =) as i said go and take alook what types of mobs there r and then talk lowest lvl grp mob there is lvl 50 u get burst at 48 grp is 4 mobs pulling like 3-5 grps 2k xp per mob u with 1 ds and 1 burst
holy weap for solar flare/spark no **** its holy atribute
Nice one Blauw, just tested this spot out on my 53 ES, Merrow can 2 shot the mobs and chose the group consisting of Connabi, Sandhidro, Cadeine, Cadeine. None of them nuked and exp was 7260-12045 per mob @ full vit. Not bad for an ES but I'm sure necro would do better solo nuking :P AOE is always more fun to me :P
The low level MOBs are non-factor to a Necro that level. They should be doing Outlaw Forest 2 shotting for 4600+ XP a kill with NO vitality. Lol Corpse Burst Soloing... /sighs
LOL @ 7k with Vit 4. Do you not realize how blatantly horrible that XP is at levle 53 compared to the 5-6 other places a Necro that level can go XP?
You two shot for 4600 a kill in Outlaw Forest with No Vitality. 1/2 HP MOBs (groups included) are a waste of time at those levels. Maybe it's worth it in 7x levels (Silent Valley), but I never bothered to go there since I leveled fast enough in other places...
When you get higher level and actually need BD dances you can level one to 52 and just invite it every 2 minutes for dances, then kick it out. They have Con/Mystic by 52 :P Personally I don't see a need in leveling one up to 78 for Siren when you already have 3 other buffers to level to 74+ :P
Lol I keep seeing people telling players on here well you need full boss jewls to do anything really, I think they work for farmers or live in their own fantasy world
Like in pvp sometimes you get the etard that probaly bought crap load of adena got a couple boss jewls then you land debuffs on them and they have a mental breakdown because they thought it would put them in god mode.
Oh yea they don't help much VS nukers either still gonna be 1 or 2 shot :P

and as the levels of gear goes up the average boss jews will faulter against 84+ nukers...then 90+ nukers...100+ nukers...still wearing A and S grade boss jews

lvl 53 - 4600 exp
lvl 80 - 12000 exp
You need 82131827371278 times more exp at lvl 80 to get to 81 (2.7 bil exp) and u need a like tousand of xp to go from 53 to 54.
LoL... just LOL
IoP was supposed to be nukers heaven and it has just 1 decent spot, even not good at all (chromatic entrance). Now it is bots heaven and every crappy player heaven. Dino was supposed to be a nuker AoE heaven but it gives just a crappy exp and rewards (rewards got upgradet tough, but still crappy in comparison with HB, the melees heaven) in comparison with melee's heaven Hellbound. HB aoe is possible but u need like 82 lvl nukers with +12 overenchanted AoE nukes and dark resists on their armor, lvl 83 rechargers, very high lvl tank with dark resist on his armor and a very good bishop, while in a melee party u need all just to be 78 (lower level bd and sws, bishop sub works too lol) and u get e-mazing exp. Destro AoE with just 5 man. Top melee party can clean every spot that worths AoEing in a 5man party too.
Gracia instance zones are fked up for nuker groups.
A single archer grp or a melee group, a single destro can kill any raid boss on the map with no problems, but a single nuker group will get wiped within 2-4 mins when their mp is finnished...
NCsoft please wake up. Nuker zones anyone? Anyone seen recently the difference of the quantity of nuker groups and melee groups? It is just redicilous? In my 400 man alliance we have like 2 nuker groups, 10 melee, 2 archers exping... Please wake up... Upgrade IoP... better exp, better orichalcum, adamantine drops is needed, way more mobs on spots are needed. Rework the IoP quest (less recuirments), rework water dragons and their drops, make em like chimeras but with better exp per mob because they are way less than chimeras, remove the instances and make the bosses from instances spawn in every hour or so on an open field in IoP (like the chimera in IoP) Lower the m.def of the HB mobs. Increase the exp for Dino mobs... Make gracia instances doable for nuker groups without the need of 83 lvl rechargers... Make mana gain works for nukers too it should fix the mana problem the nuker groups have.
Rework the vr buff it is just ******ed. MoS, pagans are full of archers and daggers that pole AoE... classes that were never supposed to pole are able to pole AoE in these places... 1 single archer/dagger with just cov, pof and zaken are able to AoE pagan darkness room and every mos room with np, while I have to play with at least 2 rechargers to be able to do a single MoS room... I cant find a spot with my necro in MoS where I am supposed to hunt because of archers and daggers that are AoEing there (something they are not supposed to do...) Maby I should get a decent pole wpn with dark attack and AoE too? It should be working...with dances, vr stack and cov...
The game is getting way more harder and stupidier if u play a mage class since c4 till now... There is not a single very good spot in this game made for 76-85 lvl nukers since c4... Just read the comments ppl are giving advices an s grade necro to lvl in a c3 or c4 zone because its best exp... this is just over ******ed...
If u read where a dagger or destro should level ppl will pbbly say:
destro - get a pole and aoe the ** out of fog, darkness, mos, it with just a warcrier till 79-80. Then get a decent pole, find a sws, bd and healer and go to AoE the ** out of Hellbound. For a dagger - Aoe the ** out of MoS, Pagan, II with just a wc in party till 78, then get a HB party OE your lethal to +1 and kill moabs with easy in 1 hit.
Just to give u a simple example of what I am talking. Me ( a necro) and my friend poisonbg (Adventurer) started playing l2 together at 1 time. I was 78 and noble like 4 months before him. Then with every other update and the boost melee parties got he was getting closer to me. At the start of the HB update we were both 79 at 10 %, in gracia he is 81 I am 79 at 50 %... HI NUKER ZONES ARE NEEDED.
What I don't agree with is the thought that IoP was supposed to be Nuker's heaven. IoP is balanced in a very Anti-Nuker sort of way. Nukers need factorably more gear and buffs to level there compared to an Archer or Dagger...
The whole Dark Resist thing I covered in another thread, but people didn't take it seriously. It died pretty fast...

Heh tnx, mate. Finally someone agreeing with me :)
This was also only about the pve aspect of the game. I dont want to talk about the pvp... it is just tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long.
Also necromancer is a good class, but it needs just few remakes. Cursed man stun should actually land sometimes. I have +9 cursed man its stun has landed just once - in an olympiad match in a very important desiding hero match... but that was the only time I saw my cursed man stun lands on someone. Also the 2nd skill which name I dont even know... is just not on its place... imho necromancer lacks AoE spells, beside mass gloom that is good for hunting. A mass nuke with huge power and just a fine reuse should be a good addition that will help the necromancer level easier, if cursed man gets that it will be very good... Corspe burst is just a joke having in mind it has no element. Metero... lvl 81 skill actually needs fire S grade or higher grade wpn to do dmg... Vampiric myst at lvl 83 is just too far away. This skill could stack with usage of banes in pvp and make necro a good crowd controller in a mass pvp... but lvl 83... that is just to late.
And mate pls give me the link about the dark resist thread. I am ****** that every end game zone has dark/fire resist and attack (HB, gracia continent) so they make it clearly way harder for human mages to kill someone in pvp (everyone stacks dark resists as buffs and armors resist in order to hunt in HB easier) and to hunt at these zones. Maby together we can get the thread alive again :)
Personally I don't care what most people have to say, but I think some of it needs to be said. If you disagree, you are free to post it. If you do, oh well, thanks I guess...
The direction this game has taken IRT my class is disturbing. In C5 and Interlude, there were Resist buffs that could bring our damage down to deplorable levels. The Attribute System was introduced, and it was only a matter of time before people realised Divine Stones were almost as common as Fire Stones. Every Armor Set in the S80+ level has Dark Resist on it, and there are new Capes coming out with an Innate 30 Dark Resist on them. Yay!
1. Death Spike - Skill OE: Death Spike OE's at 50% Effectiveness compared to other nukers' Main Nukes. This needs to be fixed. We lose even more compared to other classes that get the same OE types as us.
1#: The Skill OE for Vampiric Claw that cast a Dark Resist Debuff doesn't [last I check] tack with Dark Weapon or Blessing of Darkness. I'll try to check this again soon, but this was how it was the last time I checked it. This is, IMO, a bug.
2. Dark Vortex: Oh, they finally added a 6 Accuracy Debuff to Dark Vortex? Please increase its Casting Speed to be on par with that of the other Vortex Nukes.
2# Why didn't they add -Speed to Vortex? We're the slowest class in the game. Why would the slowest class in the game want to run into 500 Range to cast a (relatively slow, pun unintended) Mass Slow Skill that has an HP cost with half the BLR of a Single Target 600 range Slow Debuff?
3. Summon - PvP Damage Penalty: The Servitors do great damage against players you severely outlevel, but their damage doesn't make up for it at high levels, and especially end-game levels. They need a boost, especially the PvP servitors.
If NCSoft wants to use our servitors as a scape goat for nerfing our damage down, then they have to make the servitors more effective in PvP. That goes for summoners and all non-summoner classes and hybrids with Servitors.
a: PvP Servitor Nukes: Remove the PvP Damage Penalty from All Summoners + Necro and Warsmith PvP Servitor Nukes/Range Skill - Mirage, Corrupted Man, Silohette, Mew the Cat, Mechanical Golem
Removing all damage penalties from the above mentioned Servitors would be even better (both melee and ranged damage penalties). Leave the XP Servitors (those with less than 90% XP Drain @ level 40 on Summoners/Necro, except Golem being the exception) as is. I guess DA Dark panther can be considered also, since it's their only servitors. Boost it too.
b: PvP Servitor Casting Speed: Increase the Casting Speed of all PvP Servitors by 100. Note, this will not apply to Magnus the Unicorn or the other 79 Servitors, nor Merrow. Just the PvP (90% XP Consumption) Servitors.
b#: PvP Servitor Attack Speed: Make the Attack Speed of PvP Servitors = to that of a Great Wolf.
c: Servitor Defenses - All Servitors (including DA, Warsmith, and Necro) other than Nightshade need a Defensive Boost on the level of that given to Nightshade. Not HP, but P.Def and M.Def needs to be balanced for hte current game, and not C4. All Servitors should come with some level of Innate Attribute Defenses. I'm not sureif any of them do, I'm just throwing it out there. Warlock - Fire, PS - Wind, ES - Water, Necro/DA - Dark, WS - Earth.
4. Mental Shield Changes: It seems Mental Shield becomes 100% More Effective when you OE it in Gracia Final. Good Fight Silence/Curse of Doom? Considering NCSoft is working on Curving our damage output back down to Interlude PvP levels, I think you should revamp the Soul Taker Necromancy Passive to give a Boost to Debuff Land Rate. We are the most landrate dependent class in the game (only the Overlord is close to us IRT that, and this will affect them just as much).
Mind as well just give Silence/Doom Nuke Casting Speed/Reuse. We're gonna have to spam it like Death Spike to land it on anything with this change. At least anything close to our level with a +1 Mental Shield buff. <- That is sarcasm, BTW...
a: Not Necro Specific, but the Land Rate of all AoE debuffs (AoE Fear for Prophet, AoE Fear/Slow/Gloom for Necro, Mass Blocks, Overlord Seals, etc.) should be factorably increased. People have been cryin for the Seal/AoE Debuff landrate to go up for years. Why would you increase the effectiveness of an already "close to IMBA" buff that will nerf pretty much all of the seals/debuffs it affects? Mass Fear, Prophet Fear, and Seal of Silence (and others) will officially be a waste of mana to cast with this change.
5. Some people don't care or agree about this, but modifying the Skill OE system to be balanced for level 81+ characters was a bad idea for this class. We have the most factorable skills to OE in this game when it comes to PvP. In order to have a good landrate a Soul Taker has to keep their skills' learn levels close to their level (and as close to, or above the opponent's level as possible). When you consider we have one of the highest SP requirements in the game, this was a negative change for Soul Takers who actually want to level up whilst keeping their skills at their level.
If the point of L2 is to be carebear for 80 levels and then start PvPing when you can OE all your skills to +9 or higher without worry, then you can just ignore this. I know that it's like this for some people... Anyways...
By changing the XP:Sp from 10:1 to 1:1 (with very low XP requirements), you guarantee huge SP deficits for any character who needs to do a factorable amount of Skill OE while leveling up, when they still have to buy skills. This does not hurt very high level characters who have no use for their SP, however it is very detrimental for people who want to both afford their skills, and keep their skills at the necessary OE level for balanced landrates. Bad change for us, but it is a good change for high level characters. I guess it was a choice that had to be made. Just mentioning it (have already posting this in lots of places and I know what the responses will be :P ).
6. Seed of Darkness a.k.a. Dark Weapon: Necromancers Want this, and Need this. Change Necromancy to give us 20 extra Weapon Attribute Passively, or give us the Self Buff. It's not like Elemental Nukers have trouble keeping Seed buff up, anyways. Either way would be fine.
7. Summon Elemental Defenses: Half of a Non-Summoner's Elemental Defenses should be counted to the Servitor (they get 100%, I don't think 50% for DAs, Necros, and Warsmiths would be that bad - Summoners post thoughts on this).
a: DA/WS/NM OE/XP Consumption Changes were good. Thanks.
8. Revamp Curse Weakness. Should not have to OE it to give slow effect, IMO. Should do this already (-P.Atk and Speed). Give more innovative OE choices for the skill (-P.Def is good, though). Make the debuff scale better. Changing it from -P.Atk to -Crit Rate or -Crit Dmg [if a factorable amount, like 23%] seems like a good idea, TBH.
8#: Make Cleanse (and all cures) work like Cancellation, with only a Chance to remove debufs (with similar/same rules). It is too easy to remove debuffs in high level PvP.
9. Increase the Range on Mass Slow to 600 (it's Currently 500) and Change the HP Cost to an MP Cost on par with that of other Mass Debuffs (Mass Fear and Mass Gloom). Casting this in any factorable PvP against any factorable opponent (who will target the Necro fast due to Gloom helping other nukers maximize damage) is counter-productive, at the moment. Remove the Cursed Bone Requirement from Mass Gloom, and and decouple the Mass Surrenders/Gloom from the Servitor - Make it a targetted AoE around the Caster's Target.
10. If Anchor was nerfed to Half Debuff-Half Para (I have gotten conflicting information regarding this), increase its range to 600 (up from 400), Hasten it's Casting Speed, and Slightly Decrease it's Reuse (I haven't checked the reuse on PTS - can't download it on my connection, takes too long - if it's not too bad then maybe you don't have to tweak that).
11. Increase the Casting Speed and Reuse of Curse of Doom/Silence and other Mental Debuffs to be on par with Curse Fear in lieu of the Mental Shield OE Changes. If they're going to get resisted left and right, we need a reason to go into debuff range (or stay there, if that makes any sense with the slowest run speed in the game).
12. Surrender (for Elemental Nukers) - Make it Increase M.Crit Damage by something like 10%. They are useless now. Almost forgot this one. The M.Crit Damage in PvP got nerfed in Final for PvP (without Prophecy). There is room for this [good] change, IMO.
13. Nerf Holy Resistance, Unholy Resistance, and Divine Protection to be on par with Resist <Element> and Elemental Protection (20 Holy, 20 Dark, and 20/20 Holy/Dark Resist, respectively). It's not like we have the capability to Surrender it off, or Cancel it off the target, anyways...
14. Make CDL do a constant max damage possible at or below 10% HP, and give it double M.Crit rate at those HP levels.
Maybe more as discussion goes on.
Keep it Civil. I become emo at the sight of stupidity.
in addition to that... how about new 78+ areas that are idk either normal or low mdef with strong def/pattk/mattk that cast magic or bleed, or curse or stu etc. in 1/2 the place and weak pattk, def and powerful mdef, sleep resist, hold resist, 2x or 3x hp mobs in the other 1/2 of the place and give them an elemental weakness and elemental strength with drops of the corresponding stones so you have solo places for nukers and melee then in like each area some dugeon place where groups are required with the same aspect with a raidboss or two inside.
ie: death valley, dark resist mobs with divine weakness that drop dark stones just to be NCSOFT :p
or some sacred tower with angels that are divine resist and dark weak that drop divine stones. just so we all have a place to level yet still rely on others for stuff.
and yes for both da and necro, all this preinserted dark resist gear and dark resist mobs suck horribly, but even for necro whom has no choice but to do dark attacks
The issue is bigger than "where can we go get attribute stones".
I'm not asking for items, I'm asking for class balance...
not just a place to go to get stones, but a place to level well in instead of all dark attributed mobs, people instead have to get different elements on their armor
The problem is that the end-game zones and itemization is now taking on this trend.
HB being all dark and forcing people who XP there a lot to put lots of Dark Resist on their armor was one thing, putting in Capes that come wiht 30 Dark Resist on them is another [and fairly ignorant, stupid, and irresponsible] decision... All of that, on top of the fact that Necros get no Seed buff, and Divine Protection/Unholy Resistance giving and extra 15-20 Resist to Dark than their sister/buffs (Fire has extra 5 Resist in Elemental Protection).
Don't care about DAs. They can start their own thread or post in their own forum. I won't intrude unless they start posting crap suggestions, as always :P

Yea the dark resists going around are crazy, not only are good hunting spots limited but it also affects pvp. And i really could care less about the other tankers at this point since all they do is complain instead of improvising. Especially since DA got boosted this update with cat skills, judgement lowering pdef, 0mp hate to spam to save cat, um... the magic deflect(level 60 one) i have no clue what is up with that skill as i've yet to see it do anything. it niether reflects magic nor reduce it. I've also yet to see the panther's lethal land. but using dark surrender with drain works well.
Maybe ncsoft is trying to move necros in the direction of being debuffers instead of mages now? Who knows?
Wouldn't work well since debuffs are easily resisted/erased
like the things wrong here
mass gloom costs cursed bones and only fires around summon, well the fact that it costs bones sucks but if there are multiple people around your summon, chances are the summon is dead and like what are you going to do after they are all gloom? aoe? with what? slow will get you killed, posion is easily resisted and doesn't do much anyway, fear will most likely not land on any if one.
anchor used to be ok, i mean its 400 range but when it lands your safe if not you're in a bit of a pickle, a luck of draw move unless you like use it right after a successful fear or after a sleep or something, now if it lands depeding on the class you could still be in trouble, and if it doesn't land you're in trouble. not really worth the risk anymore due to the short range and casting time.
a quick single target slow with atleast 600 range if not 700 would be nice causing paying 600ish hp for a semi slow cast short range slow that has a higher chance of failing, is not cool.
having shadow flare would be nice
having an aoe attack would be nice, but imo not really necesary although corpse burst...
seed of darkness would be nice
o having a dark vortex eeer annihilation or some buster/slug/crusher/extintion
either some new attacks or a something that lets debuffs land easier 76+ where debuffs really start to fail alot which is bad for a debuff dependant class. or even instead of attacks, new curses. some kind of target lose, and im not talking about forget, forget is a failed version of switch. matter of fact forget and discord needs a revamp. noone even uses these. reanimated man needs a purpose too. he loses all meaning after level 56.
cursed man needs to turn that backstab into something else that doesnt requiring being at the back cause getting a summon behind something isnt really easy.
or even one thing I don't understand... you have people completely devoted to magic and learn high levels of spells.... why can't any of them teleport? soulbreakers can teleport... daggers! magicless theives can teleport, warders at level 36 not even 2nd class change can teleport. why can't someone who at level 80 can unleash a huge radius of sheer destruction can't even teleport 2 feet away from where he stands...
daggers making mages look dumb. daggers can now even completely disappear from the naked eye. and mages cant even do any kind of teleporting wether if it is themselves or someone else. Summoners can summon entities from some far away place and yet cant move themselves an inch away with magic.
what really would be nice is to use a few cursed bones to assemble into a corspe which you could use to ...actually use corspe burst like a arba trap or resummon, or even cld
Wouldn't work well since debuffs are easily resisted/erased
Correct. Purify was a trivial way to cure Anchor. Cleanse can take pretty much anything else off. Tanks and Summoners with Smart Cubic are practically immune to debuffs.
mass gloom costs cursed bones and only fires around summon, well the fact that it costs bones sucks but if there are multiple people around your summon, chances are the summon is dead and like what are you going to do after they are all gloom? aoe? with what? slow will get you killed, posion is easily resisted and doesn't do much anyway, fear will most likely not land on any if one.
Correct. The game was balanced for Group PvP, so what you're going to do is have you group kill them. However, you're much better off targetting each person and using Curse Gloom instead. The casting and reuse speed is nil, and the landrate isn't nerfed in spell data. That Mass Gloom crap hardly lands on any buffed players, anyways, just like Mass Slow. They are crap skills.
NCSoft should not couple any skills to servitors that way, it's stupid. That goes for Mass Surrenders, also.
anchor used to be ok, i mean its 400 range but when it lands your safe if not you're in a bit of a pickle, a luck of draw move unless you like use it right after a successful fear or after a sleep or something, now if it lands depeding on the class you could still be in trouble, and if it doesn't land you're in trouble. not really worth the risk anymore due to the short range and casting time.
Anchor was always a borderline skill. It was only imba in 1v1 against weak classes, or players that didn't know how to play their class.
a quick single target slow with atleast 600 range if not 700 would be nice causing paying 600ish hp for a semi slow cast short range slow that has a higher chance of failing, is not cool.
HP Cost is NO THX. I wouldn't even waste SP on this skill.
They should decouple all of the servitor-tied skills from the servitor, too (i.e. Mass Gloom) and remove the Cursed Bone/HP costs from them.
having shadow flare would be nice
We don't need this.
having an aoe attack would be nice, but imo not really necesary although corpse burst...
Don't really need this either.
seed of darkness would be nice
This is needed. Make it un-enchantable and give it to Necros at the same level Nukers get theirs (68, IIRC).
o having a dark vortex eeer annihilation or some buster/slug/crusher/extintion
We don't need this.
either some new attacks or a something that lets debuffs land easier 76+ where debuffs really start to fail alot which is bad for a debuff dependant class. or even instead of attacks, new curses. some kind of target lose, and im not talking about forget, forget is a failed version of switch. matter of fact forget and discord needs a revamp. noone even uses these. reanimated man needs a purpose too. he loses all meaning after level 56.
Forget doesn't work on Players, neither does Curse Discord. Those skills would actually be useful in PvP, what do you mean a failed version of Switch? Forget a Bishop in PvP? Interrupting Rezes/Mass Rezes? Interrupting Castle Seige Casting? It would be very useful if it was usable on players. Curse Discord would be very useful if usable on Servitors.
They are useful in PvE still.
Reanimated Man doesn't need a Revamp. NCSoft added Cursed Man when they put in the Summoners' level 56 Servitors. Cursed Man is for PvE. Reanimated man is basically Kat/Boxer/Shadow. You use it when it's more convenient, and that's about it. There are more important things to worry about than Reanimated Man.
Maybe NCSoft can turn it into an Archer pet, though O.O That would be useful...
cursed man needs to turn that backstab into something else that doesnt requiring being at the back cause getting a summon behind something isnt really easy.
It doesn't require the servitor to be at the back.
or even one thing I don't understand... you have people completely devoted to magic and learn high levels of spells.... why can't any of them teleport? soulbreakers can teleport... daggers! magicless theives can teleport, warders at level 36 not even 2nd class change can teleport. why can't someone who at level 80 can unleash a huge radius of sheer destruction can't even teleport 2 feet away from where he stands...

That's cause NCSoft doesn't know how to balance the game.
By the time the last update is out for L2, every melee class will Teleport, have stuns, nuke with 600 range skills for more dmg than nukers, and be able to 1 shot with melee skills.
It took them how many years to realize that Nukers not being able to use BSPS in Olympiad was a severe imbalance due to melee Soul Shots... Why did they even think THEY added BSPS to the game?
what really would be nice is to use a few cursed bones to assemble into a corspe which you could use to ...actually use corspe burst like a arba trap or resummon, or even cld
We are already too dependent on Cursed Bones. They need to come up with more innovative ways to improve or balance the class...
Correct. Purify was a trivial way to cure Anchor. Cleanse can take pretty much anything else off. Tanks and Summoners with Smart Cubic are practically immune to debuffs.
And i'm not sure if I remember but debuff times on something(s) were decreased...
Yea the base land rate for gloom is 80% and for mass gloom is like 55% w/o factoring int and mattk and also the mass gloom is pointless if you don't have good aoe like, all that too land aoe slow or posion is not worth it. basically the best aoe imo that necros have is banes. fear would be good but again the land rate..
Anchor was always a borderline skill. It was only imba in 1v1 against weak classes, or players that didn't know how to play their class.
yep and i personally like to try to land it if i get a succesful fear
This is needed. Make it un-enchantable and give it to Necros at the same level Nukers get theirs (68, IIRC). yea because the only class with a dark weapon buff is Soulbreakers and necros existed first. besides soulbreakers can now nuke and reuse fast along with melee and teleporting with utility skills...
Forget only works on servitors and pets in pvp and if they made curse discord like betray, that would be so nice vs summoners/da/ws
and I said it was a broken version of switch cause it doesn't work on players only their pets/summons
Maybe NCSoft can turn it into an Archer pet, though O.O That would be useful...
lol that would be kindof overpowered.
We are already too dependent on Cursed Bones. They need to come up with more innovative ways to improve or balance the class...
yea but it could be kindof useful to be able to create a corpse for quick uses since we have... 3 different skills that require a corpse, the most important being summoning. where if you aren't around mobs and your summon dies, then you're kindof SoL cause both cats are 1 shots. :/
I think we need AoE. I could AoE easy like every competent nuker atm does in fog, it, pagan, mos and get into AoE parties (hb, dino) if I had a dark attack AoE (not a corpse burst one). Mass gloom is the only usefull thingie for my AoE and no one even likes it. We need AoE nuke for exp purpose. Either AoE dark attack + corspe burst beeing dark attack or aura flash. Aura flash will help necro a lot in pvp and will stack very well with banes. Aura flash is a very good skill that can make these blinkin daggers and these annoying melee classes lose u for a second so u can react and do something. I think we need also some non mental debuff that will actually land, aura flash is a good thingie if we dont have it then we entirely new skill.
Also wat else is needed according to me is balance in mobs like I wrote in my previous post. Destro AoE nerfes hit the nukers the most, but not the melees. We need entirely new zone for AoE or we need HB to have at least 3 times lower m.def. You should be able to go with 78 + nukers with +3 skills to go and hunt there with 2 rechargers and have no problems at all like every melee group and have their mp not finishing. Not to have 82 lvl nukers with 83 rechargers with +12 skills. We need to have the new gracia instancess to be nuker friendly. Last time I did the 9 man eternity instances with nukers it took us 30 mins because of mp problems. We got no good rewards. We need raid bosses to be nuker friendly too... every archer, melee group can kill every single raid + paliaka + kamaloka + dungeons with no problems... nuker groups.... its just hard. We need Frintezza to be nuker friendly too. Since Valakas and Antharas got to be melee friendly I think it is good Frintezza to be a nuker friendly. I know so many ppl that actually make exp from doing Frintezza every 2 days.
The current problem with the most nukers is the lvling according to me. I have nuker friend that is 82 and he hits hard.... but to get to that lvl he lvls 9 hours per 6 boxing (AoE FoG with everything oop) day which is unhuman... A good melee parties does his 9 hour exp in just 4-5 hours per day. Even an uber nuker partie can do that exp in 4-5 hours unless they AoE HB green spot which is like really, really hard and recuires insane gear and levels and bresses (without bresses it wont be the same exp cause everyone dies at least ones per buff round)
