Bishop- Light or Robe ?

Human Classes Started Last reply 69 posts
I need help, for my soon to be bishop should I focuse on light armor or Robe ? Well with robe you get faster cast more MP, with light armor you get more pdef and some evasion which counts for nothing.

What are high end PvP people doing nowadays , light armor or robe ?
Bishop out of MP = Bad.

Robes all the way.
Thanks
LA mastery for mages does not give evasion, and mages have none in the first place.

the LA mastery only helps for olympiad.
Nuker Robes, OE weapon, oop se, go kill undead =P
Why do people think oop is so normal and everyone has access to one? haha
Because Lineage II is cheap and it's not hard to get a Shillien Oracle to at least levle 35 - 52 if you know where to kill mobs.

Why do people think oop is so normal and everyone has access to one? haha

Because, from what I've seen, at least 75% of the game has it.

Well having two accounts , runing them at same time , and hunting does not make sense to me. Thats exactly the same reason I was forced to go towards Bishop rather than prophet cause everyone has a prophet as a oop.

But if it makes others happy , it makes them happy.
It's like a snake eating its own tail. Hardly anyone plays buffers because everyone has a boxed one, and you need a boxed one because hardly anyone plays buffers. I happenned to luck into Bishop to be honest. In my early to mid 30's, my wife and I met another married couple. The other wife and I were clerics. She went Prophet, and I went Bishop. It worked well while we were playing together. When our group came apart, she began hating the game, and doesn't even play L2 anymore, unfortunately. It's a hard reality, but it is what it is.

Later!
I had the same thing happen with me as Boundless did. Small clan, 2 clerics... I went bishop, the other went prophet... and our little parties rocked for many many levels. When the clan fell apart, the pp ended up making a HE because the pp has been left on the side of the road and made totally uninteresting to play... altho the buffs certainly helped to get the HE to Sagi ^^.

For my opinion, Robes all the way. LA doesn't assist you in your function, though at some point it may help protect you... like you'll die on the 3rd hit instead of the 2nd one...

Though Tura says his set up to solo, I would only do this as a last resort. Part of the thing of leveling a bishop is learning how to play it in a group scenario to use your skills to keep the group alive and healthy as best you can. Not quite sure if you could become a good bishop having soloed your way up the leveling ladder.
Like your a good bishop having done it the other way around?

gf <3
Um. Like yes I am.

GF <3
thats why you get yelled at for not healing in pvp all the time right?

god your a newb!
OFC I'm a newb. I got plenty to learn still, and the game is still interesting to me ^^

AND I DO heal in PVP, all the time.... tho they may actually never receive the heal because they are 12 million miles away from the healer... that's their fault, not mine!!!
Every time I wonder why I went Care Bear, I read something like this.......

:) :)

Later!
hehe Bound, yeah, it's true. We're miracle workers, right?????
Beeing too up front in mass pvp, beeing ranged type and having the healer run up to you to heal is newbish (he'd die in a second), I saw many people going too in front of a mass war for too long and dieing the complaining they didn't get proper heal... I don't think there's any mistery as to who's the newb in that situation :p. (even thou the "noob" is more fit).

And robes for the bishops, all the way. What I wonder is if anything except acumen weapon is an option for a bishop? (mana up/conversion)
C-grade

Karmian - Homu with accumen

B-grade -

BW robes with Accumen Homu or Accumen Sword of Valhalla

A-grade -

DC robes or Maj robes ( really, preference here, good arguments for both TBH ). SOM accumen ( just slurge on it, seriously. its worth every adena )

S-grade, same as a-grade, you dont need that s-grade arcana mace for the extra 5 hp when you heal, although it is nice for trance etc.

done and done
I honestly say that unless you are 95% or more pvp, Maj robes are -by far- the best set for a Bishop. And, even then, prolly so. I have a DC set, but the only Bishop stuff I do in it is rez peeps. If I'm going to any type of group, I drag out the Maj set, every time. As for weapon, my primary weapon is a +3 Themis' Tongue/Mana Up. I also used a Conversion weapon for a long time. With Mana Up, I have 4119 mp, unbuffed at 76 in Maj robes. Conversion gives double the mp, but takes hp. If you can get used to the hp loss, however, I think it's an awesome SA for those who fight pve. Before I got the Themis' Tongue, I had a Spiritual Eye/Acumen, which is what I recommend, if you want Acumen. The weapon and crystal for the SA cost a lot less, and has been mentioned, the matk isn't critical. In fact, I use a Valhalla/Acumen commonly as well, because B grade shots are cheaper.

But, as has been mentioned, nearly any robe set is by far better than light for a Bishop.

Later!
A word on homus: Get a mysterious sword/acumen instead. :3
Mysterious Sword with Acumen is not good if you want to solo, and there are more than enough places for a Bishop to Solo, or Duo with an SE or EE. The M.Atk is too low, Homu is worth it, IMO.

Bishop Solo is actually pretty good compared to the other priest classes. They have okay M.Atk, average cast speed, get Invocation, and are Rechargeable.

For that reason I would try to get at least a low B Grade weapon at 52+ (like an SoV/Acumen) as well as A Grade (Spiritual Eye/Acumen) and keep Low C Grade for Raiding and PvE parties when you need the extra MP. For raids and PvE parties you can use a Crystal Staff with Mana Up if you need more MP.

In A Grade, Tallum Robes is also a good set for a buffer/healer. 8% M.Def + 2 MEN over DC and same cast speed as DC.

I would stay away from 2h weapons in PvP (Desperation Staff, Branch of Mother Tree, etc.). You'll often be a prime target and shield is pro.
In regard to PvE: The only time I was ever told to have a mana up weapon was doing AOE in the old days in Ancient Battleground. The mana boost from Majestic robes and you have Invocation and elixirs should override a mana-up weapon. Acumen weapon is the way to go since the cast speed is very important for heals and the crowd control you have to do, and the mana can be regenerated.... that's the way I looked at it. However, I rarely had to solo... I did my leveling in groups or duos.

I used a +7 Homu all the way to my mid-70s. The shots were a pain in the -.- and I was really happy when I could finally get the SoM with acumen.
You really dont need casting speed for pve, unless youre doing an epic raid like frintezza. If youre just pveing Casting speed is just for asthetic pleasure.
On the soloing note, it is very possible and amazing xp as long as you have mana. The problem is you dont have the higher mana gain passives, you have lower matak (no int tatoos), your nuke* has lower power and less range then a normal nuke, and you can only kill one type of mob and you dont have any kind of surrender. Because of this you need two recharges at least to solo normally, or some kind of redic OEd weapon.

I soloed a lot from 40-77, and still do. Difference is it is A LOT better at 74.

Couple Notes:

Casting speed is cool, but you dont really need it. MoH has close to the same casting speed as aura flare (close to the same dmg output as well)

Try to max out your matak the best ways you can without sacrificing mp regen or too much casting speed. Because you hit so weak and have to get so close if the mob doesnt die fast enough your going to take more damage then you need to and risk getting interrupted. ~Death penalty will screw you here.

A Bigger mana pool just means longer downtime rly. The SA for soloing is a toss up between acumen and mana up if you are purely soloing (not duoing/oop recharger). The extra casting speed comes in handy cause you use the mana pool faster and can get to sitting down faster. However that extra 300 mp from mana up might be enough to kill that extra couple mobs that just happens to drop a superior mana pot.

Dont go light for soloing. The pdef is nice, but itll slow down your casting speed which is just redundant.

The best thing to do is to set yourself up for party type xping, and soloing like that. The demon set or avadon set isnt going to make that awesome a difference, and when your b grade and resting for mp just remember to take your gloves off (blue wolf -men).

4x-4/5x Death Pass
4/5x-5/6x Cemetary
5/6x-6x Fields of Massacre
6x-7x FotD
7x-74 Blazing Swamp

I didnt do the blazing swamp part but thats cause I never thought of it/had a consistent party (finally) around those lvls

MP was always an issue when I was partying from 40-75 but I had an acumen weapon. I came from a private server so I knew the pvp setup. You really shouldnt be pvping until your 7x because the server is usually 7x so you dont have to worry about casting speed, until your 7x.

One more not about pre74 Bishop soloing, a lot of the areas you will xp, there are mobs you simply cant kill and in those cases you are going to have to get used to using peace, which is a great skill and will be very useful to you in all situations.

The Best part about soloing on a bishop however is once you hit 74!

74-79 Chapel or Rift Dimension.

You can probably do Rift earlier but before then Ive never heard of anyone doing it and theres no other place.

All you need is an EE to recharge you and a lot of spirit ore. The xp is amazing, and its entertaining out DDing other classes. Only thing is, its really expensive.

One more note on light armour.

Not only is it a great olympiad set (Cardinals and Eva's Saints should have multiple armour sets to preform efficently in olympiad) but it also comes in handy in small pvp out and around at higher end.

If you ever run oom, youre way better off throwing on a LA gear and meleeing it up then just running around in ur squishy robes. Just get a melee weapon or a bow (this depends on how often youre going to have Guidance in pvp) or its just going to make your enemy laugh.

Also this is only for higher end pvp (noblesse) where your tatoo setup may be totally different because of oly. However augments seem to be much better anyways so it all comes down to how much money you have and how lucky you are.

The old fashioned robe + acumen weapon bishop will always do just fine.

Ps: sorry for the double post and if anyone is more interested in Chapel or Rift xping and wants some pointers just ask its how I lvled from 74-77 in like a week.
Awesome post, Bow. The method of hunting solo using Turn Undead has been detailed in a couple of threads here. I tried the Rift, and while the xp per mob is awesome, I like the safety of doing it in a cata better. 74-75 I was soloing in Forbidden Path, on yellow/white mobs. You pick a small room, or two small rooms next to each other. The undeads are aggro, so you walk in, pull aggro, walk out in the hall where the others won't social, and kill it. Even without a recharger, you can maintain this for HOURS. I've actually been down there with a couple of EE's, and I got one of them 6% she needed for 72 in a couple of hours. With clarity, and a rare recharge, and both of us using trance/turn undead, we could still be there if we wanted. Spirit ores and bsps are the only limiting factor. And, don't forget, if a heal is needed, and the cast speed is -that- critical, we have Greater Battle Heal. A full value heal, and about 1/2 second cast speed. Is it hard on mp? Yes. But, with my Mana Up weapon, I have enough to get me by, if I need it.

Again, awesome post.

Hmmm... I dunno. I've been in a lot of pretty hairy situations in regular pve where the casting speed is what kept people alive. It has aesthetic value and working value.
It is a tough call, and really up to your play style but for pve I think anywhere you level that would require you to heal faster then GBH with normal buffs, is out of your league to begin with. However there is always that slight possibility, but thats just unlucky. Its a tough decision but honestly I dont think either one makes that huge of a difference.
GBH is not a heal you should have to touch in PvE if it can be avoided at all... that's what major heal is for (post-56), and before that, casting speed is good to stay off battle type heals and on your level 35 'Heal'.

For solo nuking, situation might be different.

Other possibilities: Steal undead in a botted catacomb room using either MoH or turn undead. :p Let the train finish off whatever you can't kill, and try until you get the one-shot on the undead.^^
i am healing w/ my cardi alt in frenzy aoe ... and w/o really good casting speed and sometimes GBH i wouldnt be able to keep the destro under 30% hp

so i am all for +++ casting speed on my cardinal

I think anywhere you level that would require you to heal faster then GBH with normal buffs, is out of your league to begin with.

LOL. I fear you have been too protected ... or cautious is maybe a better word. GBH is a last resort. It burns up MP and actually doesn't heal as high as your other choices.
GBH use to heal for as much as GH but faster and cost more. Of course now GH on bishops is unused if you have major, and major heals for more and costs less.

Still, GBH has been on the F3 of my keys for forever and will always stay there.
Hey! That's where mine is!!! :) And I agree, it is an important tool... but certainly not the heal of choice when others can be used safely.
light for soloing non-undead mobs(you might want some high end duals or fist weapons too), and robes for anything else.

MP is everything unless you are alone lol.
use vitalize instead of GBH its almost as fast and effective and cost less MP. great for when wearing light and self buffs only.

still if you have plenty of spirit ore to burn, major heal is a great option as well.
Matter of fact, I think mine is on F3 as well. And, I never meant to say it was my mainstay heal. Major Heal casts fast enough, 95% of the time, even without an Acumen weapon. On the rare event where Major Heal or Balance Life isn't fast enough, Greater Battle Heal can save someone's life. And, I did say it was a mana sink, but with Mana Up on my sword, I have enough to make due. Come on, Gma. You know me better than that. ;)

There is really no IF for this. If you are a healer worth having, you have enough Spirit Ores. Major Heal is THE heal, unless the situation dictates otherwise. I personally carry at least 1,000, and at least that many BSpS at any time. This is something I place up there with SoE's, MP Elixirs and my weapon. Things I do not leave home without, unless I seriously forget. None of the healers I respect feel very differently about this one. As soon as Major Heal is available on your skill bar, Greater Heal is a waste of SP, imo.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Huh? Vitalize? To me that is a skill i never put on my hot bars. I took it off when I realized purify was more practical ... If i recall correctly, it uses a lot more MP and is slow to cast... especially compared to purify. So I don't get why you use it.... am I missing something here?

Come on, Gma. You know me better than that. ;)

I was talking with Bow, Bound... don't know why you thought I was talking to you... :)
I've used vitalize exactly once, and I remember when it was. Back in c3.

You can't even compared vit to GBH, that's crazy. That's EE talk XD

I don't remember where Vitalize is on my bars. No point in having it for an EE past 55, noone uses the sort of bleed that it can cure, and Major Heal/Cure Poison is better for everything else.
Thats just it, I havent been protected. I too have been in those sticky situations where the whole party bit into a little more then they could chew. What I am trying to say the only time you should need to heal really fast is when the person is getting hit way to hard, where he could die in a couple hits (Shouldnt be there) or when you havent been able to or just havent healed the person and they are well below 50% where Major heal just wouldnt be fast enough. The use of GBH is to be avoided obviously in that manner, healing before the person ever gets below the no return point (The rate of damage is faster then you can heal it).

Of course there will always be situations where that can not be avoided, even if thats by choice.

I havent considered the Frenzy nerf for low level xping, considering Im not low level or constantly xp with a Titan. Actually I havent exped with a Destro since CT1.... Actually I havent really leveled on my Cardinal in a while.

In the cases where you expect yourself to level with Destroyers on even a semifrequent basis I would suggest leveling with an Acumen weapon as opposed to a Mana Up weapon because that would make a critical difference and just be good practice for you.

However the lower the Destroyer/Bishop the less important it is because the harder frenzy will be to keep up (Because of the lack of buffs at that level, high lvl oops obviously make a big difference tho)

Also I understand that certain areas such as Catacombs are much easier to keep up mana while using turn undead for bishop solo. However this xp is not anywhere near as good as it can be. Max effective Cardinal soloing turns into xp thats better then boss room. I've only seen that possible in Chapel.

Finally I wouldnt suggest melee soloing on a bishop at all if you have a proper party setup. The -STR tatoos make a huge difference, if you dont have them its an option but if you do I think you are better off sticking with your setup and going nuker. If you can only afford light or robe you have to go with the robe or no one is going to invite you into parties. On a side not the low level LA masteries dont even come close to the Robe bonuses you get from lvl 1 so tehy have every right not to invite you. There is no LA set that can make up for that.

If you do have enough money to get a LA set and a Robe set, you dont have -STR tatoos and you can afford a second weapon but do not have a Guidance two box buffer (or any kind of two box at all) Go with a Blunt weapon and try to get focus on it. Not duals, as the low accuracy does not make up for the higher general dps. It works nicely on most other support classes, but they have guidance someway or another.

Oh yes, while I was in fotd if I could keep my mana up I would say that xp was close to the best I ever got at that level. Of course keeping my mana up for more then 5minutes was a major problem.

Needs Updated Now that Im Noble and in CT1 But work Nicely when I made it in CT5 ^^ (http://img108.imageshack.us/img108/5279/barys7.jpg)

...or both, on each and every pull. Like some MoS Library pole groups with 2 pullers I've been in pre-CT1.

Balance Life helped a lot there, though.

Of course there will always be situations where that can not be avoided, even if thats by choice.

IE: Poling

I know all about MoS pole parties amd how they work. I was doing that with my good friend an EE lofl1337 since c5 came out. Of course I was only 66 so Balance life wasnt nearly as important as casting speed. However we were kind of new to the whole thing so we used full 9 man parties as opposed to the duos the were doing it back before Interlude.

Nya already brought up the poling issue thats what i was referring too.

This of course is nicely spliced by the periods of rest in between.
The Darkness room in Pagan's as well...
And Balance Life rocks!! ... it has a further range too... and is perfect for these situations.
Balance Life is Incredible. Its an amazing skill, makes playing a Bishop incredibly easy, however it doesnt add much more functionality to the class that makes it like "We NEED a Cardinal over a Bishop" Unless of course youve got that 4s debuff. But thats pretty specific.

What Im talking about here is Frintezza. Everyone on my server was so focused on getting Cardinals and when they couldnt get one, they brought a bishop. That was me, and I cant say its the different. Its certainly not any harder.

Destroyer parties on the other hand. Balance Life makes a huge difference there.

Its very conditional.

Its a great skill.
I remember all the bishops [censored] about how useless it seemed when it was introduced. ~__~:
Eh well the only difference in a bishop and cardinal at 76 is balance life and a few meh passives. It's when you hit 78 and have cleanse, 79 and salvation is when it's really omg we NEED a cardinal.

Besides generally speaking a bishop is only 75, and most epic type raids people are looking for 76+ just in general.
the difference in mp efficiency between having and not having balance life is like... well a lot.

for instance at frintezza when you get AoE'd and your 3 archers talke 95% damage but the rest of your party stays full, you save about 600 MP by doing balance life + 1 major group heal as opposed to 3 or 4 major group heals.

and cardinal/ee MP goes fast at frintezza.

not to mention let's be honest. if you don't have S jewels at epic raids you're going to die lots. so 76 is really minimum for it anyway.
The value of Balance Life at Frintessa is its range (which is wider than any of the heals' range) and also it conserves MP... a strategic BL can pull that dying person's HP back up to almost full, where 2-3 individual heals would be needed. I think this is applicable to any of the high end raid bosses. Also, it isn't stopped by walls either... like in a castle siege. A balance life can reach a player that a wall forbids you from healing.

Maybe it was considered not so useful in the beginning, but as it is being used in different situations, you can see its advantage.
Even just for regular exp - a balance life can basically replace the need for a heal by making VR more reasonable. :p There are all kinds of nifty applications.
Well, I don't know which thread exactly where all the discussion about Cardinals soloing in the rift was, so I decided to post in this one.

I did the Rift for the first time as DD... it was awesome. Actually, I had an EE with me and a WC. The WC buffed (we had SE outside for empower) and slept everything when we first got in the rooms, and the EE and I killed everything. It was great XP. The mob spawning a little slow in the small rooms was perfect for regen. We even did the big rooms easy. The only bummer was having to use the Raid Boss room only for regen :(
Yes, similar levelling is possible in catacombs ... if you're a bishop, not an EE. <stabs herself in the face with her SoV>

Peace is the bread and butter of a TU-soloing bishop, and the SoE nerf makes me more sad than ever. :(

T__T <bishop envy> <- soon reroller, probably :p
lol, Maline. You're just looking for an excuse to reroll.... AGAIN!!!!!
EE+Bishop Duos are even better, where the EE basically treats the bishop as a nuker. It has to be EE + Bishop as opposed to EE + EE cause EEs cant recharge EEs, and it works better cause since the EE is sitting half the time/not in combat the mp management is much better.

And frintezza was easy, in general. Maybe my party just sucked and never got close enough to take any damage/do any damage. But the first frint raid I ever did was the easiest and the only one I did as a Bishop.

Of course the hardest ones were the most entertaining, but the party setup for me went from full archer group to full titan group where I basically had to keep the Titans from dieing as they tanked the epic boss lol. Now that was fun.
I just want to play a healer that doesn't get beaten with the nerfstick every chronicle. =D But I guess I'll stay with the buffer that doesn't (BD!).
Well, the WC slept all the mobs, the EE and I both nuked the mobs... and sat down/did Meditation/popped pots in between spawns. When we clearly had no chance to get more MP, we just ported out. So if you did a set up like that, it could be 2 EEs as well, since the recharging wasn't really the role of the EE.

I was extremely pleased that the Turn Undead did not wake the mobs too... made it pretty easy.

So, you did this Frintessa before CT1? Because now it's certainly a little harder to do it.
The frint raid I am referring to was done a LONG time ago yes.

I didnt mean recharging in the rift, sorry about that, should have been clear. Was more in reference to catacombs, where the respawn is much better and specifically chapel. Rift is basically the easiest TUing you can do, as long as you dont get those crazy rooms, theyre pretty **** hard. Its also the biggest pay day because the mobs are 6x. Actually let me give you a break down of chapel vs the rift.

The Rift:

Higher HP Mobs (6x) Meaning better drops and better xp/mob
around 50k xp and 10k adena per mob (solo)

That translates into actual profit from TUing which is exclusive to the rift.

However the Respawn Sucks.

You have to switch rooms about every 15minutes or so.

And some of the rooms really suck. Like the 1/2 hp mob room.

The only rooms worth doing are the two yellow rooms with the 6x hp mobs, and the big blue room with the 6x hp mobs.

All of this means that if you want to get decent xp, you should basically spam the chance card and switch in and out until you get one of the 6x mob rooms. This will really drain your dimension fragments btw. Stock up if you plan to do this.

The money is great, the xp is decent if you try hard enough.

Chapel:

The respawn is fairly nice, it works out to just a little bit longer then you can clear the room which is good for your mp. You dont have to switch out every so often and you can use oop two boxes here.

The mobs are all 4x hp so the xp works out to be about 26k or 32k (I always did it in a duo and it was a long time ago ><) and the adena is about 7k per mob. If youre lucky you might break even trying to xp in chapel in terms of adena.

Its a little tricky and fairly dangerous. You need a large mp pool (a recharger) and you need to work your way into the room.

Slowly go into the room trying to agro as few undead mobs as possible. Avoid the triols priest in the middle of teh room. If you agro him before you have at least cleared about 1/3 of the room youre in trouble.

You will need some kind of DD to kill the believers for you, theres just two of them (max) so maybe someone will give you a hand. Itll only take like 5 minutes. Once the two triols believers are dead, they WILL NOT respawn unless you kill the triol's priest. DO NOT KILL THE TRIOLS PRIEST lol. Unless you have an insane mana pool and can handle the whole room respawning on you. Its about double the xp, so its worth it if you can do it. Yes thats right, after you kill the Triol's Priest the entire room will instantly respawn. (Talk about intense xp)

If you dont want to burn all your mp in less then 10minutes, then after you have made the room a little easier, trance the Triols priest. The rest of the mobs in the room (and even some in the other) will agro you. Just kill them off, hopefully you killed most of them already. Once youre done with that, you can try peacing the triols priest. If its nuking you I suggest mana burning it. Peace will land, and then surprisingly enough it will leave you alone. You can stand right next to it and kill mobs, and it wont touch you. Pagans is fairly odd agro. Then about every 15minutes or so, it will randomly agro you again. Its not that big a bother really. Kind of entertaining actually. Just remember that if you ever hit/debuff the triols priest you are going to agro all of the mobs in the room that have been spawned for longer then 10seconds or so, and you have a chance to pull some of the mobs out of the other room.

Chapel is by far better xp, and has potential to be unheard of xp however it requires a lot of two boxing, and even a second party.

Using Turn Undead as your source of dps means that your DPS is almost completely reliant on two things. Skill Reuse and Casting Speed. Landing rate, as far as i know, is random and is an uncontrolable element of your DPS.

Therefore the only buffs that boost your dps are as follows:

Acumen, Zerk, Malaria, Dance of Concentration, Prophecy (PoW, CoV or CoM), Song of Renewal and Gift of Seraphim.

Every single buff you add on this list, boosts your dps noticeably, its like adding haste lvl two on a lvl 10 char, multiple times.

When I started Chapel, I did it in a duo with a lvl 78 Evas Saint.

When I finished doing Chapel I had a BD/Prophet/Elemental Summoner oop and was in a duo with the Evas Saint.

Not only does the xp get better, but it gets a lot safer.

For anyone who is willing to try, I believe the best xp attainable is in Chapel.

Cardinal w/ approx 2-3 rechargers. Full buffs and a normal pagans melee party assisting him. The Cardinal kills all the undead mobs and the Melees kill the triols. It would have to be a fairly small melee party so that they could get decent xp off of the triols. I imagine the xp wouldnt be horrid because you would virtually never have to wait for respawn. Just remember to kill the triols priest last.

I did do that, got really lucky. I kept it up for about 2 buff rounds, and the 78 EE had to die and get ressed and relvl mid way through because of mp. I wasnt watching xp, but the EE said it had basically doubled.

Its also insanely fun.
Actually, in my experience, cata TU is easier than the rift. At 75, I went into Forbidden Path. The 1st few rooms are filled with bots, so I move back to a place where 2 small rooms are together. There are 2 undead, and a Lillim/Nephlim. The undead are aggro, the others are not. One undead is white to a 75, the other is yellow. With only a SE, that can't recharge me, I can solo in there until I run out of ores. I took a 71 EE with me once, and we were doing the undead in both rooms, and got her 6% in about an hour.

The way it works is: You walk into the room, and let at least one of the undead aggro onto you. DO NOT SWING AT THEM, or you get the whole room. It may take them a moment, but they will aggro. Once you get one, or both, leave the room, and go out of aggro range for the room. At that point, trance, TU until it lands, smack the mob to kill it. If you only got one of them, rinse and repeat for the other. If your SE can regen you, (mine is only 60) you can prolly hold both rooms solo. And, like the rift, these are 6X mobs. Solo, I get 25k for one and 28k for the other. I mis-clicked, and drew a whole room once, and it got me killed. :o My clan leader has a TH sub, so she silent moved to me, and rezzed me. Afterward, I invited her to stay and sponge a bit. Initially, she laughed that a TH would sponge in a group with a Bishop. After I killed about 5 of them, she said "This is the first time I've ever felt useless when I only had a Bishop with me."

With Clarity and invo, I think an EE could hold one of the rooms as easily as I do. The key to it being safe is being careful what you click on. :D The one time I tried the rift, I was alone, and had to jump out to avoid dying. I'm sure I'd get the hang of it if I kept at it, but the safety of the Cata is better for me.

Either way, I'm glad I read about this a while back. As those who know me will attest, I love being a healer who doesn't have to depend on anyone. My clan used to think I was off in the head, when they heard of the things I do on my bishop. But, I have found that the better you know your abilities, the more capable you become. TU levelling is definately a tool I keep in the top drawer of my "tool box".

And, like the rift, these are 6X mobs.

They are 4x HP.

If you're a bishop and get the whole room, trance all, smack the undead, sleep, peace the lilim/nephilim. Proceed with caution, but safely. x.x
Well, the process you use is the one most use who are soloing in the catacombs, pull the aggro mobs to the hall, then one by one pull the nonaggro.

The Rift, with the WC sleeping (awesome their sleep was not nerfed, and lasts longer than trance -- but certainly trance could be used if you don't have a WC) thats the first thing to do when you enter: make sure they are all slept, then go for them one at a time. And all of the mobs are undeads in the rift. With 2 people doing TU, it allows for some down time while waiting for respawns for MP regen.

71 EE with me once, and we were doing the undead in both rooms, and got her 6% in about an hour.

vs 2% a buff round at 77.

I didnt mention soloing Catas really, Chapel is a room in Pagans.

I didnt mention it cause I did it only once. And it sucked in comparison. There are like 4 mobs per room max? Cata has horrible respawn and you have to deal with the other mobs.

It is pretty easy, easiest in fact. But its also the worst. 4x hp = same money as and xp as chapel but less mobs, worse respawn and no quest.

Did i mention the Pagans quest? 100% drop rate on totems = 1 turn in for a shot at an EWS about every couple hours.
Yeah. It may not be the fastest, but it is safe. I happen to be in a neutral clan/ally. The majority of our clan/ally is not 76+, and we have -very few- end game buffers available. So, I do what I can, by myself when I have to. I've been invited to a couple of groups in Pagan's, and when I get those they rock. But, when it's just me, safer > faster.

soloing as a cardinal...

jesus. seriously guys, you can make 76 to 78 in 3 days in darkness room. just go make the party and do it.
LOL... isn't this the famous 24/7 darkness room 3-day adventure??? And yes, with high end buffs, you can stay in the darkness room for as long as the buffers/healers do. But in Boundless' case, not so much an option, I'm afraid.

"In 3 days"? Which means... the same 2% per buff round at 77? :D
Soloing with Bishop shouldn't be allowed by RoC.
Everytime a Bishop exp solo, God kills a kitty. Think of the kitties.
Go bishops ! Go!
Dogs rule.
