Level 28 skills

I cannot quite figure out what a couple of the new skills do. One is a fire trap; do I target the mob or a spot on the ground? I tried it a few times and targeting a mob set a pink circle on the ground, but it was tricky guiding the mob to it and didn't seem to do much. The other is Surrender to darkness, but I'm lost as to what that does at all.
It lowers there defence to dark based attacks and I can't help you with any trap skill as I don't have and never will have a female kamael
I experimented around with fire trap for a while....

1. I have no idea, how close the mob needs to come for it to trigger. So far it seems "running all over it" is the thing to go.
2. I did not notice any graphical effect on the mob, signifying, that it was hit by anything. The trap just vanished.
3. The mob did not drop hp at all. Either the mob was extremely protected from fire, or that ****ed thing does not do any damage
4. There is no system message along with the trigger of the trap.

Which in conclusion brought for me:
5. Fire Trap is absolutely not worth the SP and not worth the 2 Souls it costs to set it.

6. Kitten
Fire trap does do dmg when the monster run over it. its not much but i think its about 180 dmg when lvl 28.

Tested it alot and i can say that dosent really do that much dmg , but perhaps it will work better in higher lvls.
Well it seems traps so far are completely useless. But then again I went the SB way, I got the trap to test it out at lower lvl, and yup useless ;)

Maybe for Arba they provide some sort of benefit.
I put a fire trap down and then stand just behind it when i start to shoot at a mob. Occasionally I have to repostiion myself during the fight but the mob almost always takes a bit of a hit from the trap.

Interestingly enough, the fire trap decreases mob HP without drawing mob aggro. So if a mob spawns on it, the mob gets hit but does not come to you. Perhaps at higher levels it will be useful.

I also see a use for traps right inside the castle gate to get attackers as they come in.
Yes, but 50 MP and 2 souls for a trap that basically does less damage than a normal shot + SS....hmmmm  (and i have Fire Trap at lvl 6 ^^)
Yep. I like the occasional binding trap, but I haven't (and won't) bother with fire/poison. Maybe at some point if I'm doing PvP, but then, you could just use the souls and MP on an attack skill instead. ;p
If traps lasted for a long time till denotated then they would be usefull for mass pvp and especially castle sieges
