Pros: More STR, Faster run speed.
Cons: Loose HP, Loose dex, easier to be stunned.
IMO, BW is the way to go. STR is a huge factor for BDs. You will be stunned all the time no matter what. You might as well hit harder while you arent stunned.
I would tell you to go to l2calc, but it appears to be down right now.
I know why tanks like Doom and DD's like BW but there are other sets. I went Zubei since I didn't like the idea of my attributes being screwed with(I love my Dex).

Better than Full Plate that most wear during their C-grade period, you don't need a shield to get some of the bonuses(unlike FP, Doom Heavy, Avadon Heavy), it's cheap as Hell, and it doesn't mess with your Dex. The downside is that it looks about 1/8th as **** as BW and in all honestly BW is a really good armor set for BD's. I'm just saying that there are options.
It enables you to tank better (I dearly hope you're not a BD trying to tank without VR) due to the improved damage output and still has better performance over Zubei.
Then again, if you're a male BD, it makes you flash your panties... :3 That's not for everyone. x.x I'm currently fighting a battle between the better choice (BW heavy) and the hotter choice (doom light :p ) myself.
But, if you can deal with the pantyflashes (from either gender), go BW.
eh I have a BD sub closing in on A grade...For financial purposes I am thinking to use DC light. Does anyone think this is a really bad idea? will it hurt my pdef more than 150?
DC Light is a Nice armor and I love it on my glad but Glad gets Light armor mastery and BD don't. Best to stick with Heavy Armor on a Blade Dancer..... they are squishy enough. ;)
hmmm I guess I can try to get a NM heavy set. I know it isn't the best but I like some pdef on my squishy DE, not to mention getting slept less, and NM>Maj/tallum in looks on an orc mage imo ^^

Weapon:
+10 tsu*sls (I will also farm fire stones for these duals++)
What is this fanatical need to buy your armor when you hit your grade? Thats not the way this game was designed to be played. If you play legit then you need to have patience in using what you have when you have it. Don't go spending money needlessly on buying an armor set that won't suit you. Use the armor you got until you can afford the right set. Your focus should be on your damage output before you defence anyways - so make sure that you've taken care of that. Don't get godded into esthetically pleasing yourself because you'll find that your broke all the time and can't even afford shots. At low lvl's BD's are not effective solo characters unless you have good financial backing. Then you can gsap/ghp/shot yourself to death if you want.
Your best bet is to focus on parties that will minimize your spending and save up :)
With manor and smart play, it's entirely possible to take a new character into BW with OE'd TSU*SLS or SLS*SLS legit. If someone can afford to have their B-grade gear waiting for them to hit 52, then why not go for it?

TBH I hated the BW set on BD. but its still a good set for them. Tallum is the best A/g set for BD. MAJ for pvp.
crt duels is needed for PvE. However speed duels are needed for boxed BD's, and PvP BD's (interrupt mage skills).

why hello, stranger.
If you noticed...by my sig...this is my second sub. I think I can afford armors by now. I was just thinking of doing something different is all really. I am going to do Tallum heavy with +3 str -3 con +2 str -2 dex until 7x. then I will switch to +4 str-4 dex. and so what if I did NM heavy. I would lose like 60 atk speed. still have the same patk, con+dex and be slept a lot less....oh and look better---I already clear 3 catacomb rooms as a 59 BD. I have oop powind so I think I kill fast enough.
thanks for your concern on being legit and buying the right armor though.
