I just returned to L2 after a year of not playing and I lost my old account, so I was wanting some suggestions about the best class to start from scratch. Thx in advance :)

start a box toon first. get it to 58 then make new acc on it make a fighter of some type.

range > all...cept daggers, and tyrants are both really good classes.

What do you want to do or achieve? Are you solo player? Do you want to be uber in PVP or effective in PVE or both? Do you like socialising? Responsible enough to rule over party's life and death? Any direction you want to go - ranger, tank class, healer ... ?

would prefer fighter sort of class but I dont plan on duel boxing so something that is pretty easy to level and fun in pvp, would rather it not be an archer.

Human fighter > warrior > gladiator.

Glads are very power at higher lvls.

They use duel swords, and deal great burst dmg, but minimum atk dmg with just swinging their duels. Glads weakness is their M df, and can't use a shield to block bow dmg.

actually that almost ALL wrong.

the only glad skills that need duals are TSS and sonic slash i believe. everything else can be used with a single sword or mace. which leaves room for a shield except there are no shield masteries etc. but yeah, everything except like 2 skills can be used with single sword/blunt.

edit: thats, Triple slash, Double sonic slash, and triple sonic slash.

everything else, Fatal strike+AOE's+Hammercrush+ a bunch of others are usable WITHOUT duals.

what about sonic rage? 78 skill I'm pretty sure you need duel swords to use it.

It doesn't matter if you can use one or two skills with a single sword, glads where made to be duel sword user's why use any thing else?

And what I said wasn't wrong, just maybe a little under specified cause I don't play the class. Hammercrush is a blunt skill, but very few glads play their class with a blunt weapon they use deals cause thats where the bulk of their dmg lies.

what glad uses fatal strike?

I wasn't wrong...thx for pointing out the skills I intentionally didn't mention, cause it had no barring. in fact I didn't mention any skills, I only stated they have great burst dmg...way to troll spud!

The two 1handed sword skills were for the people who couldn't afford duals :p
