2box Dilemma

Well now that I have a job (ugh...) I can finally afford a 2box :) My dilemma is what to choose :p I was thinking PP for all the snazzy buffs, but then i thought of a SE with SoES and a BtB SA and a few GSAP would cover just about everything a PP could give me, plus I get VR. So now i'm having trouble deciding between the two :p Anyone have any ideas? and NO, im not going WC/OL...
SE, SE, SE. Recharges. Recharges. Recharges!
SE.
SE.

Also, why the BtB SA? I'd go with Homunkulius's Sword Conversion SA, or the same with Acumen SA if you think you can need some fast healing now and then.
Some people like BtB for PvE - I suppose in some spots like dino island it makes sense.... but in a catacomb, I'd take HPS off an acumen weapon over a buff SA any day. =P
Well my client is being stupid for some reaosn since CT1, it takes me a full 'invite' bar just to alt-tab between accounts, I have about a second to click accept before the box disappears. Even with absolutely NO graphics on, looking at the sky, sacrificing chickens etc.

SE it is :p
Run the clients in window mode (Alt+Enter) and overlap the windows so you can click between the 2 accounts.

This is what I do too....just whatever you do, don't minimize on of them! The restart time on re-maximising is probably twice the alt-tab time.
you may need to manually change the resolution on the game by editing the options.ini file cuz the new game client crash when you change the resolution
Ahh, so clicking between clients is faster than tabbing? Never knew that, thanks :)
Right-clicking, most specifically - right-clicking and dragging. Otherwise, your two-box might start running off god-knows where.

I've always liked having the screens NOT overlap, but I don't mind playing a passive box in a small window, or two active ones side-by-side (widescreen ftw).

Noticably so. The second window has lower priority, so when crossing large distances/porting you need to give it a bit of time to catchup. And every once in a while (once every few game sessions) I get a spot of lag that the second client has to play 'catch up' on. But usually, the swapping back and forth to rebuff gives the client enough time to catch up on anything it needs to.

I'm still leveling my buffers so most of the time they are on auto-follow still. But if you sit them down and don't move them, the possible lag from them is almost complete zero. The second client is still a few seconds behind in the display though, so even though I have no lag when an area is fully loaded, swapping clients, the buffer will 'warp' a bit when I click closer to my main at buffing time as the view puts her farther back than she really is. (As shown in my 'main' window.)

If you have a lot of hard drive activity while doing this, your running with less memory than you should have. I played with 1 client and 1GB of memory fine. But when I switched to 2 clients I had a LOT of HD access lag even during normal movement. I upgraded to 2GB and now everything is smooth again. (WinXP)

It's fun sometimes to level an alt w/newbie buffs, while the other client is in Giran selling or crafting. just click between the two every so often and re-empty the MP bar.

This is what my desktop looks like. (http://personalpages.tds.net/~painamplifier/BWD_Dual_Box_Setup.jpg) With both clients running. The screenshot function chopped off the bottom of the screen, but you can still see most of the start bar.

After starting one client I grab the bar at the top and move it up and over a bit to center the viewing window, start the second and repeat. This way I have the bare minimum of 'edge' around the windows to deal with. The only real issue I have, is the chat box is pretty much underneath the start bar, so I have to pay more attention when typing. (Even they I typo way more than I would maximised.) But it's almost a necessity, as you need the start bar on top so you can click between the two windows easily. (ALT-TABing will minimize your windows between tabs!) Sometimes the OS won't realize your clicking the application buttons fast enough, and instead of just switching the clients, it will register a movement click under that button before swapping clients. (Mainly when you mouse-over and click fast.)

(I make no excuses for my crappy shortcuts in game though...too lazy to fix them right now.)
I do it in a similar way. There is an option to hide the Start bar. When you move the mouse pointer down, the Start bar will pop up.
I have grabbed the bottom of the Lineage window and dragged it up a bit so i can see a bit of my desktop on the bottom.

Ok, one last 2box'in question :p My SE is now 10, and I absolutely dread 15-20 on a mage... (When you've been through 27 characters, spiders get real boring, real fast :)) So i was wondering if I should grab my 107's (Yes I still call em that, stupid bots and their "top d 107p atk duals" starting trends...) off my 26 Scav. (who I will be 2boxing the SE with, lvling at the same time) and just lvl him by melee. OR, if I should suck it up and go lvl him anyway, getting about 20% a day... OR, if I should just start boxing em now and hope he lvls up fast :p
20% a day sounds pretty low. You should be able to make 15~20 in a few hours, tops.

Try to go a different spot than spiders if they bore you. =P
I said 20% because I usually take a break after the first MP bar ^^
Stick it in the party with dwarf and exp on the dorf, should lvl it quite fast too.
Ahh okies, goddang you people have no lives :p Stop posting so fast :)
Make my project rebuild all faster then!

Just remember that your SE won't be able to enter catacombs yet... thus the suggestion to finish getting it to 20 like that. :p Of course, if you always take a break when you run OOM, that might take a while.
lol

Keep Nuking until 20! Despite the boringness, it's still the best and fastest way to 20. If spiders bore you, use your newbie tokens and go to another starter area and kill different mobs until almost 20, then port back to where you need to be to start your quests before rolling over to 20.

That said Duals on a Mystic aren't all that hot...accuracy is pretty shoddy without something to give you the accuracy buff.

I'd suggest going with a pair of Scalloped Jamadhrs if at all possible. Your not going to crit much anyway with self buffs, and you need the extra accuracy they give. The higher Patk helps as well. Even then you may want to avoid 'Light armor' mobs entirely if possible.

It's not hard to try this out with the new shadow weapon coupons. Get one for the S.E. Jamadhrs and one for a blunt and compare them to your Duals.

Once you get within 2-4 levels of the character your going to be buffing, I'd party with your 'main' and just share the XP to level the mystic. It helps if the buffer is 'above' the level of the buffee by that amount...but make do with what you have, as it will still be better than going without.
Well i'm already in gludin, killing those arachnids south of windmill hill.

But, now i'm duo'ing with my Scavvie, and he's still getting about .9% per mob, only slightly less than when i ws soloing, of course these mobs are also 2x HP. So in reality im getting .45% per normal mob. I can also 2-hit most 1x HP mobs that are 26 :) Yay for dorfie dualies! Weeeeeeee

But yes, back to topic, if I can find a working L2calc, I can just test em out on there rather than use up all my precious Shadow Tickets (I have an affinity with collecting finite resources/things, like those old Rice Cakes they used to give out, I bought 8 of em for a total of 10k just because i've never seen anyone else with them. I'm a dwarf at heart, it's what I do :D). So I guess it's back to combo packs of duo'ing and solo'ing :( God I hate mages... Mage chars should get an auto-boost from 15-20 :p I would go to NCNA HQ and give em all a big hug :D And then smack em upside the head an tell em to fix the rest of the dang content before doing useless stuff like boost my chars :D.
