The PR Thread

So what do you all like about PR, what do you hate. What kind of gear do you use, did you lvl with. etc etc.

(felt PR's were being left out, other than the AW or PR threads and the best archer thread, which isnt really PR specific, they arent discussed).

I like dead eye and the run speed

for every other aspect of an archer class I prefer HE, mainly because of some of the skills HE has that PR does not rather than the hp/cp advantage.

i'd say i would only prefer the he type for the new weight skillz he has that gives him a great advantage in bhoth pve and pvp situations(ss pots).
Anyways i always like brut strengh so pr for his skillz like Creat:Quick Killing Potions... :)

passive crit chance and passive haste is nice, not to mention blessing of sagittarius

I like the kill speed, the run speed, the damage, the look, the skills (yes, even Hex and Drains, which are rarely used, but nice to have anyway) and even the way a PR holds its bow when standing still.

What I hate is the low CON.

Hex is good, the rest is a waste of SP since you'll NEVER use them in any serious situation.

Make a blade dancer and then sub HE :P you will have ur PR but its the deluxe version ;)

Truth is that one is not superior to the other.

Get a team of [censored] players of PR's with epics and end game buffs and I'll roll over you with a team of good SR's or HE's using the same setup.

I could also tell you I've killed plenty of those kinds of PR's and lost to them also, it's not always clear cut and simple.

I agree.. archer is now mostly about what support you have (buffs,dances,songs,grear) leading it to beeing more of teamwork then the individual diff of the classes.

I would say the HE has many advantages that I still think is uncalled for. The PR has higher dex but still has a lower crit rate due to HE getting passives.

I like the PR for the fact of beeing a fast runner, good looking and hitting hard.
I agree that the only skill that is specific for the PR I ever use is hex.

counter dash just fixed the run speed issues of HE's

yeah you have to go to 79 but this game is mostly about high end content now anyway

I love my PR, yes he has crap Def and HP but hey I can always get ALL my skills no probs. I love the crits, dead eye and Hex - yes they arent the easiet tosolo due to the lack of CON and Def stats but i dont play L2 to solo :p

Freezing strike is also quite usefull to fire off along with Hex when stun has landed as it gives you a bit more space between you and the enemy (esp if your enemy is a ****ed orc with so much CON stun isnt worth trying).

I rolled an archer to play an archer so i didnt do the dagger root to Bgrade i used a bow from NG to now, and i love the Pain of Sagi that means far less time on my [censored] regening my MP. I was lucky I had some help getting my Maj set esp as since i got that i don't need to go back to town every 4 buff rounds to get more SS and Arrows :cool:

Yup def fun to play esp the fact that you do quite well at pulling agro then not having the HP to hold it off - SP farming at its greatest - life of a PR is def the most seat of the pants xp for the 3 archers ;)

Dead Eye is actually the one thing I dont like on PR, ok it gives you a little patk and critdmg boost but personally I hate to lose even more atkspd (especially since PR is the only one that doesnt get Blessing of Sagi).

It's nice to see those big crits but it is a little overrated imo.

I agree.. I only use dead eye with the combination of a sws bigger chance of crit or bd faster atk speed

I got all skills till lv62, even all the dagger and sword skills from the DE Fighter baseclass. Never get tired of grinding with it because I luv my kiting skills (that annoy my party members), and I even tank the hell out of ToI 5th when ppl don't care about rooting my mob.

I LOVE MY PHANTOM RANGER! I might not use all my skills, might die alot which results in having all my skills, might not have top gear and might lack the oop buffer that allows me to grind long and fast at spots like Field Of Massacre earning good money.

I JUST LOVE HER!

The only downside... making compressed soulshot packs to avoid returning to town often is a pain in the butt, especially when you also need to carry arround 1/3 of your shots worth of arrows and your pet can carry that anymore.

I'm PR still lil true.. but i really <3 her with Doom Set and BO CS+3 ... she rocks in pvp, eat mage in 3 hits XD
And what about hex? 1of the better skills of the game for me!
What i don't like so much, like all Dark Elf is the low CON/HP so u get stunned almost always : |

Is Avadon worth getting for B grade or should I stick with PL? Just wondering if the weight allowance on Ava is worth it. I hate running back to town!! But I love my PR!!!

What's the difference in Atk. Speed?

People tell me this all the time, but I don't want to play mine in C grade armor until 62. Another thing is that I can see myself getting killed often due to poor P Def, and not getting the extra boost in Evasion due to DEX bonus. Really sucks, especially if the game decided to lag when you've pulled too many mobs when you shot one.

It's whatever people want to do, I just want to play my archer in B grade when she's supposed to be in B grade. :cool:

I cruised through B grade in Doom :P
