+3 Enchants can blow? true or false

General Discussion Started Last reply 41 posts
please someone tell me that my friend is mistaken... he said his academy armor (gloves) blew going to 3 where as i always thought enchants on armor where safe going to +3... and main one piece armor was safe to +4.

i really want to +3 my zaken but wont chance even the smallest chance it could blow going to 3..... so it stays at 0 till i get some confirmations from maybe from a mod? i hope.

thanks for your time everyone.

I have long joked that I can have a +0 break by just picking up an enchant scroll.

However, any one-piece armor can safely be enchanted to +4, and the rest to +3 safely.

Anything more than that, and you risk making crystals.
people have said this since the game started, and i have yet to see one screen shot of it actually occuring.

+3 is safe.

Rest assured.
Give me your Zaken, I'll enchant it for you, it's safer. ^^
100% sure its only to +4 it may brake.
Common mistake example is.
" your Nightmare gloves +3 has blown " <- something like that.

And then people think that it said kaboom on +2 to +3
It can not happen. If it did, alls you have to do is put a message into support, tell them exactly when, where, and what you were doing. Their logs will spell it out completely and they can tell you.

I think someone hit it on the head. Your message is " +3xxx failed and crystalized".
We have had a few clan members also select the wrong item for enchantment and lost that going +4 and beyond.
Law of the Universe :p
thank you everyone i have enough guts now to enchant my earring lol... i bet my buddy did read the yellow enchant text wrong and blew trying to goto 4... i always did think that was an [censored] backwards way the text was written.

thanks again for all the response.
wow you have a zaken and you dont know how the enchants work?

I have an easy solution for ya, I have a guaranteed way to enchant BOSS jewelry to +6.

Give me an ingame pm, and I'll enchant your earring for you.

zzzz
Or "borrowed" account.
i heard of it happening once, but never saw any proof of it.

i have never blown up anything going to+3 and going to +4 i have blown up alot of things. one piece armor (top/bottom) can go +4 safely (it even says so on the enchant scrolls).
all other single pieces of armor can be enchanted safely only to +3 (this includes jewelery).

weapons can only be safely enchanted to +3 without risk.

QFT.

It's rather sad don't you think?
You should just give your Zaken's earring to me, I know what to do with it and I overenchant for profit. Tis a true travesty. Someone who knows so little about this game can posses such a valuable asset.

thats already normal thing in L2 isnt it?

Well it happens - when you start playing your toon at level 80........
wow, the OP asks an honest question and just gets blindsided by a hoard of a**h***s accusing him of anything they can think of.

If you play the game for fun, there are many things you will most likely not know about which is where the forums come in.

If you play the game because your life revolves around it, it seems you end up posting the sort of drizzle you see above.

Even level 76+ epic jewelry-carrying players that are playing just for fun would have had some experience with enchanting gear. Ignorance of this at level 76 is just fishy.
It is not possible to grind to 75+, participate in a Zaken raid, get the Zaken earring out of everyone else there and have no clue about over enchanting to +3. Come on, it is written on every single enchant.

Even a casual player that has spent the last 3 years [when real life allowed of course] grinding their character up to 75 should know this information. The fact that you are defending this "lack of knowledge" about one of the oldest tweaks this game has is unbelievable.
We are talking about an S jewel that is worth lots lots of cash.
If you manage to have an 76 player and the money to buy it and you dont know that simple thing then something is really wrong :). If he didn't know where zaken spawns that would be acceptable. If he didn't know where you can level
12-->13 SA crystal that would be acceptable. But this isn't.
Did you not read what she posted? She is well aware of the safe enchant levels. She's asking if it could've been a mistake that another players gloves blew going to +3.

Seriously people learn to read.

To the OP: +3 is safe, anything beyond is iffy - just as you posted. If something blew going to +3, /gm or support ticket it.
You know what, you are right and we should all learn how to read. It is painfully obvious that we should not question the fact that anyone that owns a Zaken earring should know enough about over enchanting to tell her “Friend” that breaking the gloves of the clan oath while going to plus three is not possible.
Holy Crap Batman!!! omg ! these flames are like those of blah... wow.. no i did not buy my account, no i dont ebay and i do know about this game... i raise my own toon by hand.. i had a friend who is wrong now that i had a few nice responces telling me he probably didnt read this enchant screen correctly... i have had the zaken for a bit now, i play the market and bought a resold alot to earn the cash for it... its my first boss jewel and probably my last with the price increase... and i am a noble and working on my 2nd sub. gosh people i just didnt wana risk it if someting new was put in the game with the last patch, ussually people dont flame to bad here thats why i posted my question here and not blah. eh whatever. i am no guru but i wasnt born yesterday either.
I have played this game for three years and last night when I was buying Agrade for lvl 36 toon and couldent remember if Agrade gloves could be robe, heavy or light or you had to get Agrade robe gloves and then unseal it.

This I should know for 100% certainty as its old news but I forgot.
So I dident know this and have 100M+ adena Cgrade and Agrade set ups does that make me an Ebayer?
Same logic as calling him a Toon buyer.

Lol you was buying an A grade set for your lvl 36 char? Nice!

Needed to see how Maj LA looked on me, as screenshots dont cut it :p
I like wearing Heavy set on a Kamael, they have really weird effects, ranging from missing entire torsos, to complete nude but unfleshed meshes :p

I'm going to hope that you have been around the game long enough to remember that for quite some time there were questions on safely enchanting items. (I don't feel like searching for the threads tbh.) Items were blowing that souldn't have and so on and so forth.

With that being said - the OP had the correct information, she told the other player the information - she came here asking for clarification to make sure she was right. Could it have been a glitch/bug that the gloves blew going to +3? Yes. Could the other person have been mistaken and the gloves were already +3 going to +4? Yes. If I were going to enchant a big money item and things were buggy would I be nervous about it? Yes.

I've been in this game since Taiwan OB and I **** sure don't remember every little thing about it, nor do I remember every change that's been made. So because people have big money items and ask for clarification do not make them ebayers, you-know-whatters, etc... People with big money items are usually from large clans, castle-holding clans, etc...

Want to see the stupidity of that? Your reg. date is early '07 and you have 2 lvl 7xs, a lvl 6x, 4 lvl 5xs, and 2 lvl 4xs... You either ebayed them or you-know-what them, or really have no life. See where I'm going? I'll just assume though, that you've been here for much longer and just never registered til then.
Just for the record, I wasn't acussing anyone of anything.

However, my offer still stands, anyone who wants to have me help them overenchant their BOSS jewels, I'm still just a pm away :p
Here is the issue if the OP would have stated:

Hey there, have a question, I have been playing for a while and have OE'd other jewerly before (and blown up a few) to +4, but the other night my friend and I had a discussion over epics. He/she said that going to +3 has the possiblity of blowing up, I said it was when you go to +4. Since we have a bet over this, can someone please confirm.

Now as the OP stated it, it sounds like "hey I just started playing my toon at level 80, and I have a few questions..."
People are so cynical. It's sad. :(

When I read the question I understood the OP was asking if she could somehow be wrong about her understanding.

You know...funny thing, sometimes they change stuff. You used to drop items sometimes when you died. Only your first character on an account could get newbie buffs.

But they changed dropping on dying and they changed newbie buffs.

You used to be able to sleep something really fast if you were getting pummeled and Serenade of Eva had a fairly quick refresh, but they changed that.

If someone didn't read all the patch notes, they might wonder if somehow something got changed they didn't notice.

Not everyone who asks a question cheats and not everyone who answers one correctly is clean.
Hmm, granted I haven’t been lurking in these forums since 2004 or posted over 2300 times. I have been playing this game long enough to get what I have. It is simple as that. It is a known fact you don't need these forums to play the game.

The reality is, like so many others here, all my free time currently revolves around this game. I play at least 8 hours each day during the week and every hour I am not sleeping on the weekends. I am not a casual player and would consider myself a L2 addict. That being said, I only come to the forums when I can't play and reframe from posting to most of this gibberish. As with most humans I succumb to this tantalizing battle of words and partake. That is what this forum is all about right? Isn’t this an exchange of opinions, ideas and perceptions? Game on.
