New question how is NCSEA diffrent then NCNA with regards to the same restrictions? Why can they do something diffrent then NCNA when NCNA was told (2 years ago) that we are not allowed to? What is the diffrence in business model?
I didnt think L2 SEA was run by an NC Soft division, thought they bought the liscense to the game in that area of the world. After it is delivered they can do what they want, where as NCNA is a division of NC Soft and does not have free reign over what they produce, could be 137% wrong though.
Heine event would crush the non real players but it would also mess up the economy big time. Don't see that coming soon.
There really does have to be a good reason for not doing this type of event. I can't believe that anyone at NcSoft would say "how to we make our player base not happy". Maybe they are even discussing it, but there are always reasons. Could be Vorlon reasoning or some such too :)

It's seems everytime someone thinks of an event to have, someone comes in and starts talking about botters and farmers, etc. Then we have people who say this game sucks and how everything is not fair and yet they still play it,
This is why we don't get stuff like that. Cause you don't want it. Instead they give events that they think of that doesn't helper botters/farmers in the slightest bit, like let's see... the christmas event with the tons of christmas trees and echo crystals...

Since the grinds in Lin1 were worse and the event like this was well received, then I have to disagree with you on all points.
You can de-level and many do to get the mats or adena they want. Some players in the middle of levels have what they need in terms of armor and weapons, so the double exp/sp would be of a great benefit to them.
Those luck souls who have grinded so hard to 78, 79, and on their way to 80 would greatly appreciate this event. I can't see at all where you are coming from with this since the event has been used for years in the game that led to most of the design decision for this game.
who wants to play for 8 months grinding to 70, then delevel for 3 days down to 60 just cause you need more mats?
delevelling is not progress, and is certainly not fun, and not something someone does to his/her main.
you do that on a low level toon you dont care about.
well double EXP event to help mains level kind of takes away HALF the time to grind up some cash seeing you now need to delevel AGAIN to get that money you missed seeing youve cut your earnings in HALF as well.
if anything they need to make it 1/2 exp rates. would make it much easier to earn cash.
but whatever, i earn my cash the hard way and if delevelling is your method of playing a game where you need high level to compete, then by all means go delevel more.

This topic has been broached intelligently and at great length in the past. NCNA knows the will/wish of it's market even if they seem reticent and reluctant to embrace them.
Frankly, I'm through with it. No more petitions for a double xp/sp event. I won't even ask for a "mana free weekend" (which would only benefit some classes much more than others anyway). Nope, the days of wishing on a star are gone.
I just want them to keep their covenant: do what they said they were going to do, when they said they were going to do it, without palliation and delays. :mad:
I read the same thing.... L2 SEA is owned and managed by a separate company. You are 100% right and should feel good about yourself for the remaining days of this week, unless we are both wrong.
Can someone please explain how a double XP/SP/drop event helps the bots? From what I have seen they could care less about XP/SP, I've seen them attacking Guards to de-level all the time.
L2 SEA is indeed managed by Asian Media and Cubetech Asia. They bought the rights to L2 and as such can do anything they want within the contract they have with NCSoft Korea.
For instance they cannot let players outside SEA play on the servers, but they can do mostly everything else freely.
If they increased everything I don't see the problem. But since they said that this type event would contradict with how THEY see the game oh well...

And I fail to see why you're so turned against this Spud, especially if they would raise the drop/adena too so you'd not loose out on the adena/mats on the event period..

Well I think everyone would love the event. Plus we get to see a lot more population outside of towns for a couple of days or so..And someone doesnt want to be left behind in the money thingy he can always stay in giran for a couple more days.
XP is too easy to come by, but granted, none of my toons are past 50 yet.
Money is the problem for me. It's too **** boring to try to make any money and I have neither the patience nor the will to put forth the effort while sitting in front of the computer. This means I have to leave my computer on over night. I do it, but I'd rather not.

actually i think it would be anarchy. with people already out MERELY to make people take 4% deaths repeatedly, it would provide a way to grief with LESS consequence than ever before. it means you can pk to your heart's delight and clear karma 2x faster. it means dieing off karma gives an easier time to clear PK's with sineaters levelling like mad.
with an event like this it would benefit 2 people and ONYL 2 people: the VERY HIGH levels who control the servers politically, and the botters.

You fail to mention that you would get the xp 2 times faster back and even more SP in the long run IF you would get pk'ed which I doubt.

This game is here to provide fun for people - if it does that, thats what matters. I'm of the opinion its more fun during an event to earn extra benefits.
Now, why stop the majority of people having more fun simply because of a minority of people that break the rules?
Lol. It takes money to make money, unless you get very lucky on full drops.
Making an artisan at low levels is actually counterproductive IMO because if you level it up that is just another toon to spend money on.
The only way to make money off an investment is to invest money into it to begin with.
Unless you think you can go kill 3x/4x mobs with the gear you start off with and no soulshots.
Look at the farmer toons. They know they have to invest in something and wait for the end-result. Same goes for everyone else.
The only difference is that players like us don't have 200 level 1-9 toons running around newbie zones gathering the money to make that investment 24/7 AFK style.
The clan/alliance system in the game is supposed to make up for much of this, but very few clans/alliances in L2 actually act as such.

This isn't directed towards you but rather a general comment.
A new player has no idea what quests are and are not good, they don't know where to find information as to what is and is not good. I made a WS to help pay for my wiz because I just couldnt afford shots. I didn't know where to hunt to help keep costs down. I had no idea what to do about anything. I had to start making shots with only about 200k which is not very much at all.
I'm willing to work for my money, sure, but I am not willing to lose my play time to make a few adena here and there. That's what it boils down to, a FEW adena. A WS, I have learned, can NOT make money w/o money to make it with. You need millions before you can make just 1M profit. Too much effort for too little gain. I spent a whole week doing nothing but making shots and finally I got a little over a million. I didn't know about manoring at the time, now that I do I still won't do it, because it's just too **** boring. I have a few million now and a few million in SBs and other gear and if it doesn't sell I trade. I'd rather trade for the same value than spend the time trying to sell stuff to make money and then buy what I'm trying to get... eliminate the middle man, can make things easier.
There is just so much a new player needs to learn. One thing anyone should know though, is you can NOT make money without money to begin with. Having an artisan to make money does you no good if you dont have money to buy the mats required. I didn't know at the time that I could have a Giran toon who would help me eliminate teleport costs by transfering Crystals and Ore to my Gludin toon. That ignorance kept my prices up, and that's why many people in Gludin sell DSS for 15 (they don't know better), and that's also why DSS is lower in Dion. When you can afford to get to dion you can afford to lower your prices because you can afford to get the mats cheaper, but you don't need to worry about all that if you have the toon to transfer mats.
The thing that ****** me off the most is people would tell me my prices are too high, but no one would ever tell me how I could get the mats cheaper. For a while I didn't understand how people could sell shots for 13 or less when they cost me 13 or more to make. Finally a very nice person invited me to his clan and I've been doing much better since, but I still have a LOT to learn.
And hopefully people view the quest rewards and guides on Stratics (http://lineage2.stratics.com/content/library/quests/) to see what quests are worth it or not. Many times guides aren't really needed for easier quests, but more often used to see what is involved to see if it's "worth it" or not.

let me point out how much i care how/who/why/when someone would point feed an arcana lord. How that being said let me reiterate (means point out with emphasis) how a HERO is complaining about exp rates.
If you don't care about it then why bring it up in the first place. You made the comment about it so you obviously care about him being a hero (point feed or not).
All your doing is arguing against something that we know you would part take in, and enjoy. Why do you feel you have to be a troll and appose what 60% of official forums, and 85% of blah forums would all agree is a good Event to have.
You sud disagree on higher XP/SP/drops. but whats your highest lvl, what is it sud in your 4 years playing L2? your highest lvl chr you as a casual player. Let me guess your highest chr is no more then max lvl of 61, if that.

Especially after 78, good god. Since they killed AoE exp pretty much anyone that didn't catch the frenzy pole train now has to slog through it the old fashioned way. Getting .001-.005 a kill.
Unless you're in a two-three man chapel/L-room group with full oop support. Its so **** slow you want to stab yourself.
Now they're adding more level locked content and 5 levels ontop of 80. Which if its anything like 80 is so **** ridiculous it'll be over a year before we see someone get near the cap.(Even full on botting)
With the player gap ever increasing, you need to give incentives to leveling. Otherwise you get burnout on both sides of the divide. Those who put more time in getting bored of stale politics, and those with little time burnt on playing catch up.
L2 has evolved from what it used to be. From C1-3 numbers could conquer individual strength. But as of interlude an entire clan of 75s will not kill 1 group of 80s. The sheer weight of the new gear and skills is obscene, and the grind to obtain them even more so.
Do I want a free ticket to 85 for everyone? Of course not, but having the occasional double exp holiday and reducing the exp curve would be excellent. Making PvP more interesting, and everyone happy.

he was commenting on what I said. I was merely stating that attitudes with Spuds comment "People did it to me when I was new, so I will do it to new people" was what is wrong with society. So he made the comment of thats why things are so corrupt. And yes, I am an American and proud of it, but that does not meant that I won't make comments on why people in our country are stupid. We have a pretty close minded and stuck up society compared to other areas of the world, its why most of the world makes fun of us, we are one of the most advanced and powerful countries in the world, and a bunch of jerks to boot (you kinda prove my point on this one with your response). And for the most part he is right, no one in this country really takes a stand against anything (well, they make false pretenses about taking stands). Our government isnt run by the people, its run by the corporate machine, has been for a very long time. Exactly, as a young country we have always been ignorant hence we had several senseless fights between brothers and sisters that resulted in deaths of people and torture which is how we have had in the past so many controversal conflicts, the biggest being the civil war.

nah, the 1/1m is the nut jobs that go out and just start killing people because they dont feel happy about themselfs. And from this last statement im guessing you are from here :) Didnt sound like it form the original post i read. It jsut makes me mad when people from else where start talking about america like its a horrorible place to live, and that everyone is overly violent and wanta kill people. :P
Not everyone just a few people ruin it for everyone else. The people who just go out on a rampant killing spree... that is a worstcase senario and I hope to not be invovled in that ever.
I do not make the events. I remove bad guys from the server all day. Every once in awhile I find someone I can really help and make them have a good day.
