What would be better for a SpS. Zubei with the +10% M Atk or Avadon with 15% casting speed. I will have a SE of about equal level for support. Also I have Demon Robes available for C grade. Thank you for any information.
Meh... I skipped b-grade altogether... used Demon till I got A-grade.
But I would suggest Avadon, if you have an SE for empower. With or without the extra m.atk from zubei, you should be able to 2-shot mobs. So go for the extra speed instead.
Only thing I would add is. If you have plenty of cash Avadon is ok. If you don't stay in Demon and save your money for DC robes. For Nukers and Sps specificaly B grade is a waiste of Adena. The lvling Form B grade to A grade is so fast it's not worth the upgrade.
Avadon looks nice as well, but that nasty wit hit from doom made me stay away from it.. Demon has a better +int to -wit bonus than doom and at B grade the - to hp isn't that noticable in pve.. But i had my sps in avadon from 55-about 65, before i had all my DC crafted..
I never considered anything but cast speed robes on a nuker, but then again I always play sorcerer (as nuker) so the dmg was not that much of a problem.
As a sps you could go with demon I guess, up to A grade.
Doom's wit nerf is a bit extreme, I would never consider it even on a SPS.
In my mind, doom is the worst of the robe set bonuses. You give up 3 wit, to get a measly 2 int, oh and 1 men, but when has men ever made a noticeable difference?
Other than for waltzing around in town, I would avoid the doom robe like the plague (unless you change the helmet for a blue wolf helmet to avoid the set bonus but keep the p defense), actually I would avoid it more than the plague.
Although, I really did use them throughout all my B-Grade and part of A-Grade. Since my SpS was my first toon, I didn't have loads of adena. I got the entire doom robe set for about the cost of the helmet. Needless to say, (greater) magic haste pots became a necessity.
I thought it was funny. Most people had no idea what class I was, mainly because they had not seen the robe set (at least on a LE).
In b-grade I went with avadon for the +15% casting speed and better pdef over demon with an OE weapon. But on Bartz avadon was cheap so it was not a huge dent to the wallet.
I used demon to pve and avadon to PvP. That is if you have the adena. Now I wouldn't even worry about Avadon or pvp. Most people you will run across in pvp will be way higher and probably stacked for pvp.
