hi
im almost lv 40 and i was wondering about the summoner class
at the moment i have all my skills including the two summons the wizards have.
except where do i get D Grade crytals?
i heard they where expensive
and when i get to 40 will i need C Grade crystals
you will and you get them from shops in Giran. Dwarves crystalise D grade or C grade items and they become crystals. Either that or someone OEs something and it breaks and they get crystals in return.
D grade crystals are sort of inexpensive, C grade is a little more pricey. The prices have also inflated recently due to high taxes.
However it should still be managable.
Just go to giran and type
/findprivatestore cry
then you will be able to find all the kinds of crystals you could possibly need. Look for the cheapest :)
You can get D crystals several ways. You can crush (either with your dwarf, or someone else's) low D drops you get, buy Low D gear in the shop and crush it, Try to OE D gear, which will give you a lot, if you can afford it, or buy D crystals from other players. On Lionna, D crystals sell just under 700 adena each, if you look around. (Like 670-700). After 40, if you are a Warlock, you will in fact need C crystals. Best way I know to get them is try to OE C grade gear, or buy them. I think C crystals currently go for 3200-3500 each, again on Lionna. That price might not be current, as I haven't needed C crystals for a while. If you get a C grade drop you don't need, you can always crush it as well.
I know people (addicted to OE) that never have to buy C crystals. (Or D, or A for that matter.) I'm not saying it's the best way to go. I said it was a way to go. Plus, if you do get lucky on an OE, you can sell it, and use the profits to buy crystals. When I need them, I buy them. But, it isn't the only option.
Definetly OE for crystals! Oh yeah! Especially since you get less crystals when the item breaks then if they were crystallized by a dwarf! Who wouldnt want that? :)
ok, so I mistyped it. Sorry. I have heard, however, that each + you put on a weapon increases the crystal count. I can't confirm it, because I haven't tried it. But I've heard it from several people.

Each + does indeed add crystals to armor/weapon, but it's still asinine to OE items just to get crystals :p
I tested the crystal increase of each + on D weapons once, it is a small amount. I'm sorry I don't remember the exact number but the value of the additional crystals is trivial compared to the value of the enchant scroll at any level.

My 2 recent busts gave me these crystals (approximate)
+5 Tallum Gloves bust on +6 attempt gave around 212 A crystals
+4 Tallum Gloves bust on +5 attempt gave around 150 A crystals
Not exact crystal count, but as close to it as I remember

LOL
When you fail OE you get 1/2 (half) the amount of crystals you get when you let a dwarf crystalize it for you.
