Let me guess. Hmmmm, I know an event where you have to kill 3243496552342024 mobs and collect 349823490324 items to turn for a 1/38435591442364 chance at getting anything worth more 1/10 of what you spent on shots collecting the items.
Ok seriously if there is an event coming and they plan on re-inventing an old event, I would love to go out and hunt down some raid armies again.
you forgot having to collect 500 different parts which each take up an inventory slot making it impossible to turn them in cause you are above the 80% in inventory and weight
It's no where stated that you are 'obliged' to participate in events you qualify as 'not worth the effort and/or resources' . It's amazing how much people always complain about things where they actually have a choise to either do or not do something.
Regardless of what is done, these complaint threads always pop up over and over...A discussion had to exhaustion of arguments.
I'm actually hoping for a perversion of the X-mas event, not necessarily with Trees, but maybe hearts or somethin.
For example:
Collect little hearts, no less than 25(but no more than 40) pieces needed to make 1 heart by the way, then turn it into one big heart, and it will regen your MP by 1 tic a sec when you sit on it.

If it was an old event we wouldnt be downloading new files as they are all in our folders already, unless of course they've been tweaked a bit which I doubt.

You dont typically download a L2.exe for a new event.
There were security changes there. Some of which we know about already, others I'm not sure.
One thing they forgot to mention (But then, what's new here? NCSoft manages to forgets half of the changes in each chronicle's patch notes as well ...) in the maintenance notice is the following change:
* Debugging console disabled
Seriously, NCSoft team ... work a bit on your patch notes, would you? Not even Microsoft is that bad, usually.
If you PK any character that has a name with a majority of numbers or unpronounceable characters and / or has no vowels, and, additionally, if they have averaged greater than 15 hours per day of in-game activity for the past month without gaining levels then one or more of the following will happen:
10% chance they will explode like a Pinata
25% chance of receiving special in-game pet (servitor). This servitor has special ranged attack that can 1-shot kill anyone you target that is not using L2 client software
50% chance of receiving cumulative sum of all XP said character lost through deleveling in the past month
75% chance of having a permablock against mass PMs
100% chance you will enjoy yourself
Furthermore, no Karma or XP loss will be accumulated during this event.

Oh if you like his event you might want to limit yourself to 14 hours a day. He said any character on more than 15 hours a day is fair game.
I dought the patch had anything to do with any up coming event. If they do coppy an old event I would like to see any event that happened before C4. Seem like C4 is when they implemented the Nerf hammer to events..........

I think this was once suggetsed in the past a few months ago when Interlude was still running :D :D
