Ok so, I generally don't bother petitioning about anything ever but this guy was being pretty sick, and this was the first time I've ever been asked to list what the player said. Am I really supposed to retype it all in the petition? (http://www.elliebelly.net/avatars/Shot00156.jpg)

That is the only example that hadn't rolled off my screen yet. I didn't think it was necessary to quote the foul mouths just to report them.

You can type a line or two to give them an idea, but the GMs can pull complete chat logs if they wish to see more. I wouldn't type 10 lines of profanity in a petition either. :)

they want you to send them what/when he said that stuff so they can easily search his words in logs and proof it

From what i've seen, all that should be sent to GMs is 10 lines of profanity.

I agree. In fact, I believe we should start a national holiday for customer support staff in spirit of NCSoft's staff coming to work everyday and taking so much abuse from customers. They go above and beyond their work duties, as opposed to the rest of us who work at awesome jobs dealing with great customers/staff day in and day out. This holiday could remind them how much we love them, so they dont just walk out on their jobs and make a living off of unemployment checks.

lol now I like smack talk as much as the next person, but this guy was saying some really messed up stuff. It takes a lot to get me bothered enough to write up a petition XD

Back to the OP--I had a similar experience not long ago. A player shouted some seriously obscene things and no matter how I worded it, I couldn't get under the character limit.
I have to admit after wrestling with it 4 times I gave up.

The petition system is sort of like asking people driving on the freeway to write tickets for other drivers--while they are driving.
I don't want to take multiple screen shots and such. I want to tell the GM's who to look for at what time and have them actually find out what happened and take action.

I've done a fair # of petitions in the past but have to admit I'm not a fan of the system as it is. Can't someone program some more drop down boxes and have the darned thing date and time stamp (and server disclose) itself?

Then I must have hit a rookie when I petitioned about 2 guys that was harashing me.

1st petition I sendt: names, location, chat, time and a short description.
Reply was: Please provide us with more feedback (my petition count wasn't increased to 5 again)

2nd petition I sent: names, loacation, time, chat, something that they says in the chat and the petition number of the previous petition so that they could look it up for more info it needed.
Reply was: Please provide us with more feedback (my petition count wasn't increased to 5 again)

3rd petition I sent: names, location, chat, short quote of what they said and a short description of what the issue was.
Reply was: Please provide us with more feedback (my petition count wasn't increased to 5 again)

4th petition: I complained about the support and that I didn't get my number of petition limit reseted or atleast increased by 1.
Reply was: What is your issue? How can we help you? Please repetition us with more details (petition limit wasn't increased by 1 again)

5th petition would had gotten me banned because I got realy ****** of by the lack of will from the GM side to help theyr paying customers so I loged off for the day...

Had the exact same issue when there were mobs missing from my xp area. They kept telling me the mobs were there and that that mob server takes care of it so it MUST be working as intended.

"[NOT] working, as intended" seems to be the new paradigm 'round these parts. :p
