I'm about to get 2nd sub BP and was wondering where are the location where BP can solo. Undead locations, hunting location. I think from 40 till 64. something like that.
On the soloing note, it is very possible and amazing xp as long as you have mana. The problem is you dont have the higher mana gain passives, you have lower matak (no int tatoos), your nuke* has lower power and less range then a normal nuke, and you can only kill one type of mob and you dont have any kind of surrender. Because of this you need two recharges at least to solo normally, or some kind of redic OEd weapon.
I soloed a lot from 40-77, and still do. Difference is it is A LOT better at 74.
Couple Notes:
Casting speed is cool, but you dont really need it. MoH has close to the same casting speed as aura flare (close to the same dmg output as well)
Try to max out your matak the best ways you can without sacrificing mp regen or too much casting speed. Because you hit so weak and have to get so close if the mob doesnt die fast enough your going to take more damage then you need to and risk getting interrupted. ~Death penalty will screw you here.
A Bigger mana pool just means longer downtime rly. The SA for soloing is a toss up between acumen and mana up if you are purely soloing (not duoing/oop recharger). The extra casting speed comes in handy cause you use the mana pool faster and can get to sitting down faster. However that extra 300 mp from mana up might be enough to kill that extra couple mobs that just happens to drop a superior mana pot.
Dont go light for soloing. The pdef is nice, but itll slow down your casting speed which is just redundant.
The best thing to do is to set yourself up for party type xping, and soloing like that. The demon set or avadon set isnt going to make that awesome a difference, and when your b grade and resting for mp just remember to take your gloves off (blue wolf -men).
4x-4/5x Death Pass
4/5x-5/6x Cemetary
5/6x-6x Fields of Massacre
6x-7x FotD
7x-74 Blazing Swamp
I didnt do the blazing swamp part but thats cause I never thought of it/had a consistent party (finally) around those lvls
MP was always an issue when I was partying from 40-75 but I had an acumen weapon. I came from a private server so I knew the pvp setup. You really shouldnt be pvping until your 7x because the server is usually 7x so you dont have to worry about casting speed, until your 7x.
One more not about pre74 Bishop soloing, a lot of the areas you will xp, there are mobs you simply cant kill and in those cases you are going to have to get used to using peace, which is a great skill and will be very useful to you in all situations.
The Best part about soloing on a bishop however is once you hit 74!
74-79 Chapel or Rift Dimension.
You can probably do Rift earlier but before then Ive never heard of anyone doing it and theres no other place.
All you need is an EE to recharge you and a lot of spirit ore. The xp is amazing, and its entertaining out DDing other classes. Only thing is, its really expensive.
One more note on light armour.
Not only is it a great olympiad set (Cardinals and Eva's Saints should have multiple armour sets to preform efficently in olympiad) but it also comes in handy in small pvp out and around at higher end.
If you ever run oom, youre way better off throwing on a LA gear and meleeing it up then just running around in ur squishy robes. Just get a melee weapon or a bow (this depends on how often youre going to have Guidance in pvp) or its just going to make your enemy laugh.
Also this is only for higher end pvp (noblesse) where your tatoo setup may be totally different because of oly. However augments seem to be much better anyways so it all comes down to how much money you have and how lucky you are.
The old fashioned robe + acumen weapon bishop will always do just fine.
Ps: sorry for the double post and if anyone is more interested in Chapel or Rift xping and wants some pointers just ask its how I lvled from 74-77 in like a week.
use light for the non undead soloing (really not a great option) or in a high lvl party with a wc where you wont have to heal that much anyway. light armor mastery for bishops increases attack speed, and the casting speed is slower than robes but not much. robes for soloing undead. check the world info on your map for hunting zones in your lvl range.
I was up on the top of EG with the Neer Crawlers (undeads) with newbie buffs and Disrupt Undead/Holy Weapon you can run around and one-shot them until about 36, when the xp goes down too low.
And then what? Honestly i detest fettered.... same mob for undead hunter since the dawn of time.. at least back in the days those trees in eg were undead....
It's just disgusting to see there's really only 1 or 2 places where a pre40 undead hunter can level.
Would it have been so hard to add a few places with many undead mobs besides the existing ones since C1..? I guess so.
And rift sucks, you don't have shards in most cases pre-40...
Pre-40 feels really weak for undead hunters, pathetic.
Yeah, my academy toon is 37, and now I have to beg for groups, because too hard to solo. In Death Pass or the entrance of Dragon Valley 3 mobs, and out of mp.
Fettereds are just fime till 44. Then they get light blue :(. After that there are archer undeads and zombies near Aden. Best place i could find. Drop herbs, good xp (about 4k per mob). Didn't even bothered to try to lvl in DV. No herbs sux, if u don't have a dualboxed recharger.
Rakul in Field of Whispers is also undead, however they are surrounded by non-undead, and dodging becomes tricky. Their respawn rate isn't bad, but frankly it's not ideal. They are, however, easy to kill.
I have found that if I hunt only the undeads and root any other mob that tries for me and run away, that I can do okay in areas that have mixed mobs.
That said, most of the places available after EG is too low, they just suck. The high 30s thru the 40s just have no good place to hunt. Once you can get to the cemetery and the surrounding areas, yes... then it starts to be decent again. Perhaps the idea was to force you into parties, but these days, parties of those levels are not really wanting or needing a healer.
Good thing this is only an academy toon. I hit 40 and I'm done. Thank God I leveled my Cardinal when live support was important and needed :)
Never tryed myself since i prefer soloing, but maybe try to look for some rift party. Healers there are needed + u can control unead crouds by nuking. If u have enough mp that is.
There are whole threads about this, Aphrodesia. Depends on your level, but you don't need a group... maybe just a buffer like an EE that can buff you and help kill mobs. You can clear out whole rooms in minutes and sit and regen waiting for the pops.
Well I started to solo with my cleric at lvl 37 or so, and ofc EG was not an option. So, I tried Fettered. They were ok but my mana burned up soooo fast... so what I did was grab a Claymore (Two-handed sword) and Light Armor (Clan Oath).
First, I buffed with robes on, then switched to Light, and start the hunt :p
Fettered were 1-2 nukes and then melee them till death. (Note: I did this in Interlude, so there were no newbie buffs at 37, thus no emp, nor HolyWep enhanced Disrupt undead). I also hunted Windsus, first rooting them and then melee. If I needed to heal, walk away and heal myself (no hurries, use heal and not battle heal). I tried to avoid Grandis, cause they're stronger and they stun >.< but well they werent that hard anyways.
OFC, if you can find a party, go for it but I got to say that it was quite funny for me to solo with the cleric :D and btw, I used alacrity pots :o
Fettered souls are so few at hardins place..And if one or more guys leveling there its useless. You have to run big distances to find where they respawn...good xp per mob yes but quite slow i must say
